For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for more than 5 years, but my insurance no longer covers it; therefore, my doctor put me on Tri-Lo-Sprintec since there was no copay. I was only on Sprintec for 2 months, and oh boy, it was bad! I received cysts, more whiteheads than before, headaches, was extra moody, fatigue, and all that negative side effects. The worst were the cramps during my period. It was very painful with heavy bleeding. I couldn't walk because it hurt that bad. The period lasted 5-7 days. I haven't been on Sprintec for 3 months, but my period has never been the same since taking it. When I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo, it calmed my acne, shorter and lighter periods, no cramps, no fatigue. It's too bad my insurance doesn't cover Ortho Tricyclen Lo :("

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me over to this from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and this is the worst thing I have ever taken. At first, I was experiencing spotting immediately after being an hour late in taking my pill. It was so bad the first month, I spotted for a week and then got my period the next with horrible cramps and headaches. I have been on it for three months now, and I have spotted every month. This month I got my period for two days over a week before I was supposed to. In addition to this, I have been experiencing crazy anger and mood swings for the first time. To the point where I got mad at my boyfriend for trying to plan a vacation with me and then cried immediately afterward. I have also had some pain in my ovaries and broke out more than ever."

For Birth Control "This medicine worked amazingly from the start. I was on Norgee since I was 15 and had absolutely no problems, and then when I turned 17, my pharmacist discontinued ordering Norgee tablets and they gave me Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I was worried because I was comfortable on Norgee, so I went to every single CVS, and they stated they all don't have it, so I had to start taking it. ABSOLUTELY no change whatsoever! My skin was still good, periods were fine and regular, and I was doing well. Now I am 18 and I've started breaking out badly from this birth control, it seems like it's all coming back. I have bad headaches, and my acne is pretty bad. It's sad because I truly wanted to stay with this birth control, but it sucks and the good things didn't last. I am now about to start Tri-Sprintec because my doctor stated I might just need a higher dose for the acne. Let's see how that goes..."

For Endometriosis "This is my 1st experience on BCP, and this is what was prescribed. I can't wait to end this pack and just suffer the horrible monthly cramps! Since taking these, I'm always nauseous, so fatigued, constantly very irritable. My mom thinks I'm suddenly acting depressed when I never have been in my whole life, enough to where she wants me to go to counseling. I'm breaking out, and it all seems to be this pill, the ruthless culprit!"

For Birth Control "I am on my first month of taking this birth control. As many others, I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen for 5+ years and stopped when I wanted to see if it was affecting me mentally (anxiety, mood swings, etc.), and now my insurance doesn't accept it, so this was the next best thing. I was nauseous the first 2 weeks, and a couple of days it was absolutely miserable! My breasts have grown, and my boobs hurt constantly! I was getting bad acne before taking the BC, and now my face has definitely cleared. I will stick out the nausea and breast pain and continue on month two, but if it continues, it is not the right birth control for me!"

For Birth Control "So I started this birth control about 5 months ago, and it hasn’t been great, to be honest. I have pretty regular periods, they’re light and not that bad, but this birth control makes me feel SO SICK, like I throw up once every other week now, and I feel nauseous a lot. It also made me break out like CRAZY, and I used to have relatively clear skin. My friends, boyfriend, and mom say that I’ve been more angry and mean lately, so I’m definitely changing it. I’ve also noticed slight weight gain. I’ve just had a terrible experience."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Tri-Lo-Sprintec for almost 3 months. While quite a few others have had bad experiences on it, my experience has been amazing. My acne isn’t as horrible as it was (every now and then it’ll flare up when I take the placebos, though), and cramps (which is what I take it for) have been a piece of cake since starting. Usually, I would need to constantly use a heating pad, and I needed the maximum amount of Tylenol that I could take safely, but out of the almost 3 months, I've only needed to take pain meds once and haven't even needed a heating pad. All in all, even though it's risky, it's definitely worth a shot!"

For Birth Control "This is my first experience on a birth control pill, and my doctor prescribed the triphasic regimen as it is similar to my body’s own natural hormone fluctuations. I was nervous, but after one month, it regulated my period, and I had no cramps or PMS symptoms of any kind, and my PMS tended to last anywhere between 10-14 days. I barely felt my withdrawal bleeding, it was much lighter, and the only side effects I’ve had are tender breasts, which go away during the placebo week, and a little bit of acne for the first 2 weeks that eventually cleared up. Overall, pretty happy that my first experience with birth control wasn’t that bad! Everyone is different, so if you’re unsure of where to start, maybe this triphasic pill might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this for about 4 months now. I lost a lot of weight, so they switched me to Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I took it every morning at the same time, it didn't make me gain any weight or help with my acne. Been feeling weird lately, took a test and I'm pregnant. Roughly 3 or 4 weeks along."

For Birth Control "I had a great experience. No issues with weight gain, acne, or hormonal mood swings for me, and have never gotten pregnant either. I'm disappointed that production is being delayed, and it's not as easy to get anymore."

For Ovarian Cysts "Every month, I’m in bed with my heating pad, crying for days because the pain is so intense. My ovarian cysts began to burst a few years ago, so my old gyno put me on three different birth controls, I couldn’t tell you the names because it’s been so long, but none of them worked. My new gyno put me on Tri-Lo-Sprintec last month, and it’s honestly been a game changer. I have no pain except for the first couple of days of my period, but it’s NOWHERE near the pain I used to be in. I haven’t had an increase in mood swings, anxiety, or depression at all, I’ve been much more calm actually. The only problem I’ve had is the acne. My skin is normally VERY clear except for the week leading up to my period, but I’ve had consistent acne. It’s controllable but annoying, so I told my gyno, and she switched me to Mili. Hopefully, the transition’s smooth!"

For Birth Control "When I was 18, the first time I saw a gyno, she prescribed me Tri-Lo-Sprintec. She gave me a packet of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, which I think the pharmacist said was basically the same thing. For both, I had no problem. To start off, I never really had bad cramps or anything major, and I definitely didn't feel anything after starting birth control. After the price for Tri-Lo-Sprintec went up, I got off of it. I am about to go on Tri-Sprintec, which my doctor said is just a little higher dosage, so that's probably where all those other symptoms come from (nausea, mood swings, acne, weight gain). As for everyone else who has been experiencing these symptoms, they are also very common when you PMS, except for the nausea, but mainly I think it's psychological."
