"I was prescribed this birth control in February because I was diagnosed with PCOS. My periods were very irregular, and I could skip anywhere from 2 to 9 months without a period. I’m on my fourth month of this, and it has been great. My period consistently comes on the 3rd day of the placebo pills. My periods also used to be extremely heavy, painful, and long. My periods are now light, around 5 days, and I haven’t had a single cramp! I haven’t had any side effects, I have found that this has extremely elevated my mood. The PCOS caused a significant low in hormones, so I often fell into depressive lows and other symptoms. This has helped me tremendously. Every medication works differently for everyone, so I would not let the negative reviews stop you from possibly finding the best for you."

"I have been taking Tri-Lo-Sprintec for over 7 months. The reason I have kept taking it was because my last birth control pills gave me awful mood swings, depression, and zero libido. I was crying almost every day for no reason, snapping at my husband. This one is better, but only just. After trying it out for these past months, I am talking to my doctor about stopping. I’m done settling. He says I need the pills to protect my ovary since I had one removed and I have no children yet. I’m also in my mid-20s. With Tri-Lo-Sprintec, my libido has gone up from zero to two, but it is still affecting my marriage life. We’re frustrated and unhappy as I don’t feel like my normal self at all, even if there is slight improvement from the other pill I took before. I also have severe sinus congestion that I didn’t previously have, and I am tired of it all."

"I was switched to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, but the pharmacy gave me this birth control, claiming it was the same thing. I have been on it for almost 2 weeks, and I've had all sorts of side effects. I've had nausea and vomiting, blurry vision, trouble concentrating, itchiness, dryness, zero libido, and recently I've experienced episodes of anxiety, what I believe to be high blood pressure, high heart rate, then drops to normal vital signs. It's just been an awful 2 weeks so far. I don't think I can handle continuing the pack."

"I've been on this pill for two months. I started it to balance my hormones. My cycle had become irregular, which had never happened, ever. My doctor also found some cysts on my endometrium. The only bad thing is nausea and fatigue. Not going to start my third pack! No mood swings, no cravings, no breakthrough bleeding. It has evened out my cycle, or at least I feel like it has. I will have to see when I stop taking it. A co-worker told me to try taking it with an antacid, so I will try that before I stop taking it. Again, the nausea and fatigue are the worst, and all I want to do is sleep."

"I have been on this birth control for a month, and honestly, it screwed up my mental health. I have been on the regular Sprintec for a year but switched to the lower dose because I have experienced weight gain. The side effects I have experienced since taking this BC were severe loss of appetite. I can go a day without eating, and it would continue the next day, but I would force myself to eat. Worst of all, I have terrible mood swings. I feel sad for no reason, or the smallest things that make me unhappy feel like the worst thing ever happened. I feel isolated even when I’m around people. I believe that I’m on the road to depression if I continue on this BC. I do not recommend it at all."

"I do not recommend! I have been dealing with PCOS for about ten years now. I have been on and off of birth control pills ever since. And this has been far most the worst experience I have ever been in. I have never experienced depression like this in my life. It was to the point where I was feeling suicidal, and I was always crying for no reason at all, or I was looking for a reason all the time. It did solve my hormonal problem, but when I got off of it, my hormones went all over the place within 6 months. I’d give a 0 if I could."

"For all of you who have just started taking Tri-Lo Sprintec and don't notice any symptoms, just wait. I was switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to Tri-Lo Sprintec in July of 2016. In May of 2017, I started getting insane headaches, to the point where I couldn't have any lights on in my office because I couldn't look at my computer screen for more. I also gained about 15 unwanted pounds over the past year. I did some research and decided to go back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to see if the symptoms would go away. They went away almost immediately. I don't recommend Tri-Lo Sprintec to anyone, but I do recommend Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Yes, there is a cost, but I have taken it for 10 years and have had no problems, I think it is worth the money."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS BC. Worst BC ever. I wish I would've listened to the reviews. This BC ruined 72 hours of my life this week. Horrible side effects after just 3 days: irritable, annoyed with everything, loud noises hurt my head, light hurt my eyes, and I was snapping at my husband for any little thing he said or did. Horrible stomach issues. Watery poop (sorry TMI) in the middle of the night, like at 2 am, 3 am, having to sit on the toilet for 30 min. On the 3rd day, I called my OB for a new brand to start. I can't continue this BC. I refuse to feel like this one more day. Compare pros and cons of other BCs. I might add this was free through insurance, if I had to pay $200 or more a month, I would pay the $200 vs. taking this one that is free."

"Every month, I’m in bed with my heating pad, crying for days because the pain is so intense. My ovarian cysts began to burst a few years ago, so my old gyno put me on three different birth controls, I couldn’t tell you the names because it’s been so long, but none of them worked. My new gyno put me on Tri-Lo-Sprintec last month, and it’s honestly been a game changer. I have no pain except for the first couple of days of my period, but it’s NOWHERE near the pain I used to be in. I haven’t had an increase in mood swings, anxiety, or depression at all, I’ve been much more calm actually. The only problem I’ve had is the acne. My skin is normally VERY clear except for the week leading up to my period, but I’ve had consistent acne. It’s controllable but annoying, so I told my gyno, and she switched me to Mili. Hopefully, the transition’s smooth!"

"Not the same. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 15 years (age 16-31). Initially went on it after a round of Accutane in high school to help keep my hormonal cystic acne at bay. It worked great and kept the babies away all throughout college and in my later 20s. I went off it a couple of years before my husband and I were planning to conceive to clean out my system. After I had my baby at 34, I was put on the mini pill. Overall, I didn’t mind Heather, but I did get nausea on it, and my periods weren’t predictable. I asked to switch back to my tried and true-Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, only to find out they don’t make it anymore! Insert huge sad face with streaming tears. Still hopeful, I tried the generic version-this one, Tri-Lo-Sprintec. It is definitely no way like it at all. My chin has completely broken out, and my ovaries are swollen to the point of barely walkable cramps-2 weeks in. This never happened with Ortho. So upset they don’t make Ortho anymore, I will probably stop using the pill altogether."
