For Birth Control "I've been on this over 3 years now. My first experience with birth control. It has done the job. 4-5 day light periods. I do feel more emotional on it, but nothing crazy. I am switching pills only because I think it could be contributing to my fatigue. I have a low sex drive depending on where I'm at in the pill packet. Not good for trying to skip your period altogether. I tried once and ended up bleeding for 10+ days. Overall, it's a decent pill and is effective at preventing pregnancy, but there may be better options out there."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Went on this pill for frequent menstrual bleeding and acne and absolutely did not like it. For the first 30 days straight, had nonstop bleeding with black clots. Cramps got worse, as well as lower back pain. I was also painfully nauseous all the time and completely lost my appetite. I couldn’t eat more than a small meal at a time without completely being full and nauseous. I was told the acne would get worse before it got better, but it only got worse and then mildly improved. I can say that it did help get my cycle to only bleeding once a month instead of twice a month, but it’s not worth it with all of the side effects. Mentally, my mental health and anxiety got worse at first, but it leveled off and was fine after about a month. Overall, would not recommend it as the nausea is so bad and just constantly persistent."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Tri-Lo-Marzia for a few years now. It cleared up my acne, and I never really gained that much weight on this pill. Normally, I would get bloated one week before my period and felt very irritable, emotional, and anxious. I’ve been dealing with a lot of lower back pain for quite some time, and doctors can’t figure it out. My X-ray and MRI came out perfectly fine. I realized, what if it’s this pill? I’ve been on different birth controls for many years, but I think it’s time to find another contraceptive. There’s been new research that being on birth control for many years can lead to chronic lower back pain. I decided to stop taking birth control three days ago. The lower back pain has subsided in the past few days. It’s insane, the side effects of birth control."

For Acne "I started this pill over a year ago after my insurance randomly started sending me Tri-Lo-Marzia instead of what I was already using, which is another whole messed-up issue, and have stuck it out long enough. I used to have severe body acne way before starting the birth control pill, but have not had body acne really at all on Tri-Lo-Marzia. Instead of body acne, I gained severe cystic acne on my face. I never had cystic acne before this pill, and I never had acne on my cheeks or chin before this pill. I wake up with new cystic acne every single day, and there's just no way I have cystic acne from anything but this pill. My acne is huge, red, angry cysts covering my cheeks, chin, and jawline for the last year. I never experienced depression or anxiety to the extent that I have experienced it on this pill. I am starting Yaz soon because I have read good reviews about its ability to clear up acne. The Marzia pill caused dryness, a lesser sex drive, severe untreatable acne, heightened anxiety, etc."

For Birth Control "This is one of the worst birth control pills on the market. I had increased anxiety so bad I did not sleep for 3-4 days. I felt bloated all the time and gained weight even though my eating and working out patterns did not change. I had bad breakouts, which never usually happen to me. It also messed with my contacts and vision. One of the worst experiences I've had on the pill, please do not take this."

For Ovarian Cysts "I don’t recommend this birth control at all for a number of reasons. It caused my skin to break out on my chin and forehead within the first week of taking it, and it never got better. I then started having anxiety attacks and mood swings that would make me super sensitive and cry for no reason, which caused me problems at work and within my personal relationships. It also made me nauseous and bloated, which wasn’t fun either. I thought that maybe it was just all in my head until I went to a different OBGYN today, and she explained to me that she doesn’t like to prescribe people this birth control because of how it works. It gives you a different dosage amount of hormone each week, which explains the acne and mood swings. You can avoid a few months/years of suffering by steering clear of this pill."

For Birth Control "I like this birth control, I’ve been on it for about 4 months, and I haven’t gained any weight. My skin looks super good, and I haven’t seen any changes in my mood. The only complaint I have is nausea and stomach pain in the mornings."

For Birth Control "So I was worried about taking birth control. Mostly about side effects, but with the way my PCOS was acting... anything was better. So my experience was very good. I had to give it a little time, but I have found the drug to have regulated not only my periods but my overall health. Maybe it's the fact I feel less stressed about periods and pregnancies, or perhaps my body was desperately needing the right hormones to function. Whatever the case, after a few months on the pill I feel wonderful. With a combination of healthy, mindful eating, exercise, and reducing stress as best as I can, along with taking metformin. I am down 30 pounds (I was already working on my weight loss journey, and the pill did NOT hinder it). The only issue I have ever had was since the pill pack is a phase of 3, each week the hormones lower. I find myself at the end of week 2 and through week 3 with some slight PMS symptoms such as breast soreness. It goes away after the 4th week."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 4 years, and I would say it made me gain weight (10 pounds, nothing serious) and had a lot of fluctuations in my skin, but it overall helped my acne clear up. I have also been having unprotected sex for the last 4 years, and this pill has me starting my period on the exact same day of each month. I feel confident that it protects me, and I usually take it once a day at the same time, with the occasional missed pill, absolutely rarely. I think it turned me into an angrier person, but overall, I would recommend it."

For Birth Control "Gave me terrible cramping and excessive bleeding. Took it for about 5 months and stopped when I noticed I had huge blood clots coming out during my period, they were so big it was painful to pass. Didn't give me acne or any weight gain."

For Birth Control "RUN RUN RUN...... I know that everybody's bodies are different. I used to be happy before I took this birth control, and this wasn't my first either. This birth control has made me feel insecure, I overthink, I'm just depressed or angry. I actually feel like I'm going crazy while on it. I have gained 5 pounds in just 2 weeks that I have been on it, and I haven't done anything to change my habits other than my birth control. So far, I've been taking this for about a month now, and I know the doctor says you should take 3 months to get used to it, but I'm not going to sit here and do nothing while I am miserable. I have control over my own body. I'm currently contacting my doctor and switching back over to my old birth control, Sprintec, because I'd rather deal with painful cramps than suicidal tendencies."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 2 weeks and 1 day, and I developed a severe cough and an awful rash on my stomach, back, and underneath my right breast. I’ve learned, as I’ve gotten older, that I am more sensitive to ingesting medications. Just be cautious and ask about all the side effects before trying this medication. It didn’t work for me, unfortunately."

For Birth Control "I started taking birth control for my painful period symptoms (cramps, migraines, nausea). I was originally on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, the brand version, but they stopped making it, I think, so naturally I opted for this one, I didn’t mind. It has helped a lot with my headaches/migraines. I don’t get them anymore. I still get pretty bad cramps and nausea, but I also credit that to my body always eventually building immunity to whatever pill I’m on. I have gained some weight, but nothing too noticeable or serious. I get occasional pimples along my chin/jawline, but again, nothing too bad. I recently tried being more prompt with taking my pills on time at the same time of day to prevent pregnancy since I normally just take it whenever I remember to (various times of day), so we’ll see how effective it is with that, lol. Ultimately, I like it. It’s done better than other birth control pills I’ve used before. I see a lot of reviews with hives and rashes; I have not experienced any of that."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been taking Tri-Lo-Marzia for a while now (years), and it only now just clicked that it’s probably what’s causing all my problems, when one of the issues I was blaming on a death in the family. Let’s see, 40 pounds weight gain, joint pain, muscle spasms, boils/large cysts, terrible headaches the week before my period. Only recently did I think this was the issue when the spasms happen worst after my cycle when I started a new pack of pills and had none during my period. I have one more row of pills before my next period, and helping with getting switched back to Tri-Lo-Sprintec, things will go back to normal. My pharmacy changed me to Tri-Lo-Marzia without telling me it was different years ago because they weren’t carrying Tri-Lo-Sprintec. Also, I get really anxious or annoyed by stupid little things super fast and just haven't felt right for a while."

For Birth Control "When I first started this pill, it was great, all of a sudden, I started getting emotional and moody. I would cry for no reason and get mad for no reason. I have been on it for a year thinking things may change, but they didn’t. I would get mad at things I never would have before. I was always a carefree person, and as soon as I started it, it was all downhill from there, and it took me until now to realize it was the pill making me like this. It created a lot of problems for my boyfriend and me, having fights maybe every two weeks. I’ve tried to explain to him this isn’t me, and I can’t control it somehow. I would be fine one second, and the next I would be a mess. Yes, I haven’t gotten pregnant on this pill, which is a plus, but I do not recommend this pill to anyone who wants to keep their mental health! I decided to stop today, and I hope I see a difference in myself because I have really lost myself this year on it and hope no one else has to experience this."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS! I took this BC for a year. I was depressed off and on randomly and had heart palpitations every night and randomly during the day. I never suffered from heart palpitations. I went to a heart specialist, and they couldn't figure out what was causing them since my heart was perfectly fine. I stopped taking this pill after researching the side effects and reading the reviews. After a month of coming off of it, I slowly started feeling like myself again. It's been 6 months off, and I haven't had any heart palpitations in 6 months or any depression or sleep issues. Please be careful on this pill. I wouldn't take it, it's dangerous."

For Birth Control "This was the first birth control I was ever prescribed, starting when I was 18 (I'm now 24). I've always struggled with acne (was on Accutane twice) and heavy periods with heavy cramping. This medication never worsened any of my acne or period symptoms, but also didn't improve them. While taking Tri-Lo Marzia, I had 7-8 day-long periods with the first 1-4 days being very heavy with cramping and it lightening up the last few days. I still broke out around the time of my period, but my acne was not worsened or made better overall by taking this pill. I'm only considering switching now because after 6 years of heavy cramps and period symptoms, I'd really like to not have to deal with it anymore! Overall, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from taking this, but I also think there are better options out there."

For Birth Control "I would NEVER recommend taking this pill. I started this pill in October and was fine for the first two months. The end of December through January (and it is now February 4) I have had the worst anxiety and depression. I was never anxious or depressed before this medication. I have never experienced anxiety aside from nervousness due to school stressors (normal). I now anticipate going to bed early every night to avoid feeling this way. I have also experienced headaches, nausea at night, dizziness, and a fast heart rate as well. I just threw this medication into my garbage pail this morning because of how horrible it is making me feel. Everyone reacts differently to medication, but Tri-Lo-Marzia Birth Control has made me stop taking birth control for good - I am honestly traumatized."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve always had heavy periods that contributed to iron deficiency anemia and lack of energy. Finally decided to let my doctor know that I wanted to be put on a birth control pill (at 30, no less, wish I had done this in my teens), and this Tri-Lo-Marzia is what she put me on. I’ve been on it for over 6 months, and my periods are lighter and shorter. Overall, my quality of life has improved. I still get cramps for maybe two days, but those have never been terrible anyway. My level of (mild) acne has probably stayed about the same. I do think I gained a small amount of weight, especially in my breasts. I don’t think this has been super noticeable to anyone though, just to me. I think maybe my moods have improved a bit, especially since I’m not bleeding as much anymore, and those were always awful times. Otherwise, my moods are about the same. I plan on staying on this pill for a long time."

For Acne "I have taken this Tri-Lo-Marzia for 5 days now, and I’m going to stop. I feel way too tired to function, I have no appetite, and I’m nauseous. I have chills and a cough this morning, and I’ve had a hard time concentrating this week. This is affecting my ability to do my job, so I’m going to stop. A lot of these posts have people on this for months and years with these kinds of symptoms. The information sheet tells you which symptoms are severe enough for you to call your doctor immediately. My symptoms fell into this category, so did a lot of others who were on this for months and years. If you have any of these severe symptoms, contact your doctor!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for almost 2 years. I have been suffering from anxiety and heart palpitations, depression, and sleep issues during this time of taking this birth control. I thought it was due to stress, but now, after reading these reviews and seeing that my symptoms are the same, I believe that my anxiety and heart palpitations are coming from this birth control. I will be getting off to see if I start feeling more normal again."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed this to regulate my low hormones. It made me really nauseous at first, but luckily that went away after the first few weeks. With that being said, it made my hair loss 10 times worse, and my acne is the same or slightly worse as well. I have been on it for almost 2 months, so I am still trying to wait it out, but so far it hasn't been a good experience, and I really wish my hair would stop falling out because I noticed bald spots. My boobs grew a bit, but totally not worth the other side effects. I will update my review if it gets any better, though!"

For Birth Control "I had the worst experience. I couldn’t sleep, I had major headaches, and I had hair loss! My hair came out in clumps, it has helped my acne but is not worth everything else I’ve gone through. I have endometriosis, and this doesn’t help it whatsoever, my periods are still so heavy and brutal. This pill has made me feel so anxious and irritable all the time. I will be getting off of it immediately."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was recommended this pill by my doctor for abnormal bleeding, and it worked and helped regulate my periods. I had the normal side effects: cramps, headache, etc. The first couple of weeks, after that, it went away. I have no side effects, and I think it helped my acne a little too. I'm happy with this pill."

For Birth Control "Before I started taking this birth control, I had the worst PMS and periods. A week before my period, I would have intensified feelings of anger and sadness. There were so many crying spells. I would get bad acne around the time of my period. My period was so bad one day I had to leave work. So, my doctor prescribed me Tri-Lo-Marzia (one of the lowest birth control dosages) in order to keep my hormones in place. After 3 months of using it, I have noticed a little weight gain and I had to go up a bra size or two. But, it has protected me from pregnancy, made my periods so much more manageable, lighter, and minimal pain. I may get one or two pimples here and there. I think it’s great. * PS: I had my own personal problems with my weight before taking this medication. I was gaining weight before the birth control. This had very little effect on my weight, but I do think it contributed to my bra size. I still would recommend!"
