For Birth Control "I have only been on this medication for 3 weeks. Already, I am an emotional mess. I'm exhausted all the time. Not to mention my husband and I were having sex almost every day. In my first week on it, I didn't even want him to touch me. He said I seem detached. We tried, but I can’t even get turned on. No sex drive whatsoever. For the sake of my relationship and my sanity, I have decided to stop taking it..."

For Birth Control "I just started my 5th pack of Ortho Cyclen. I have never taken any other birth control pills prior to this one, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but this one has worked well for me. My boyfriend and I are sexually active and do not want any children, so I decided to take the pill. My first couple of months on it, I did feel a little different - kind of anxious and more mood swings, but that went away as I continued to take the pill and my body adjusted. The positive aspects I have noticed are it protects against pregnancy, is easy to swallow, makes your skin very healthy looking (my skin is glowing after a few months of taking), and makes my periods much, much lighter than they were before starting on birth control."

For Birth Control "I decided to write this review because I read through reviews for Sprintec before going on it and was immediately nervous about taking it, as they were mostly negative. I started Sprintec because it’s cheap, and my doctor said it could help my skin. The first couple of months taking it, I definitely noticed that I was nauseous here and there, usually in the morning, but it was completely bearable. I also felt like it caused a lot of mood swings. I stuck with it, and by month 3, I wasn’t noticing any bad side effects anymore. My skin is clear, besides a few breakouts around my period. The only reason I decided to switch pills today is because recently I feel like the pill has been lowering my sex drive gradually. Other than that, Sprintec has worked awesome for me. Sticking it out for a while does make a difference. Many of the negative reviews I read were from people that have only been on it 1-3 months. Everyone’s different, give it a shot!"

For Birth Control "I'm on my third week of Sprintec 28 and haven't had a single negative side effect. I started using it on the first day of my period, which also happened to be a Sunday (lucky me). I love it! As long as there are no side effects and nothing changes, then I'm staying on this pill forever. The only thing I noticed is that there was still light bleeding even after my period ended, but nothing big. No headaches, nausea, vomiting, mood swings, cramps, stomach pain, breast tenderness/pain, or anything! It depends on the person, you can't just judge it based on the reviews because I was scared to try it. I read so many horrible reviews, but I gave it a shot, and I am pain-free."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "When I went on this Tri-Lo-Sprintec pill for acne and painful periods, I was nervous. After reading the horrifying reviews and already having taken 2 previous brands of birth control that did not work well for me, I finally tried this. Tri-Lo-Sprintec has been a miracle. My stubborn, ever-present acne finally started to get under control, and I have the best skin I've ever had in my life--no joke. Also, I have less period pain and a lighter flow. I don't use it for birth control, so I'm not sure how well it works contraception-wise, but it's been great for acne and periods. I haven't experienced weight gain, headaches, or mood swings. It took my body a couple of weeks to get accustomed to it, but overall it's been wonderful and easy. I'd just like to stress that everyone's different, and each person has a birth control that works for them. No matter what the reviews say, don't be afraid to try--you may be glad you did. If I'd been psyched out by these reviews, I never would have had this amazing turnout. I love this pill!"

For Acne "I'm 22 years old and have been dealing with acne since about 13 years old. I've been on Tri-Sprintec for almost two years now, and what a difference. It has to be the best birth control I've ever been on. No gaining weight, mood changes, and my face stays clear even when it is that time of the month. Life changing."

For Birth Control "I am 18 and have been on Tri-Cyclen since I was 16. The first 3 months of taking the pill were rough, I was always tired, gained a little weight, and had mood swings. HOWEVER, as it says on the pill pack instructions and through personal experience, as you continue to take it, all of the symptoms go away. I am back to my normal weight (I am 5'2", 108 pounds), not tired anymore, have 100% clear skin, and extremely short, painless periods. I have even forgotten to take a pill, and it never failed to work, making these great for girls who are just starting birth control. These are low dose, so weight gain is NOT a symptom!!! Most of the negative reviews are from women who are advised not to take oral contraceptives at 35 years old."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for 5 years now. Overall, pretty good. No pregnancies, keeps acne at bay, periods only last ~4 days when it used to be heavy flow for 7 days without birth control (plus, can predict what time it will come; mine starts between 3-7 pm every first day of period). My breasts also went up 1.5 cup sizes. The only downside for me would be extreme mood swings (mad, sad, crying for no reason... but only towards my husband lol!) during period, breast tenderness (near and during period time), occasional nausea. After 5 months of use, I tried to skip the series of white pills and went straight into the next pack in hopes of not getting my period for that month... went terribly. Bled/spotted for the next 30 days."

For Acne "I love this birth control, the only thing I am sacrificing a little bit is a loss of sex drive, as it comes and goes. But as for my acne, it has cleared, and my periods are only 3 days long! I have no mood swings or feelings of depression and have been on this for a year. Also, no weight gain!"

For Birth Control "I took Sprintec for about 3 or 4 years now, but my pharmacy ran out and dispensed me Mili. I can honestly say I'm miserable. As I lay here and write this, I have an awful headache. I usually don't get them. I have constantly been bloated since taking this pill. I'm just getting to the end of my first pack. I have had an upset stomach and gas frequently. My mood has been all over the place, and I have no motivation to do anything. My hormones are all over the place. This is the worst pill ever!"

For Birth Control "I've been using this pill for approximately 2.5 years. I have never had any trouble with it, never gotten pregnant. Disclaimer: I do take it every day, hardly ever skip, and when I do forget, I double up the next day, so I think I've got myself covered. I did not experience weight gain (but I'm pretty physically active, 5'3, 120 lbs). Cramps, well sometimes but not bad, no problems with acne, no mood swings (unless I'm on my period, but that's a given). If you're young and seriously unprepared for the risk of having a child, I would recommend making sure your partner still uses a condom even if you're on birth control, trust me (3 years and it's worked for me, knock on wood)."

For Acne "PLEASE READ THIS: Tri-Sprintec will cause an initial breakout for the first 3-4 months. DON'T BE DISCOURAGED! After this period, your skin will clear up like magic! I'm 20 years old and have been on Tri-Sprintec on/off since I was 18. I've had severe acne since I was about 12/13 years old and have seen multiple dermatologists since then. Nothing worked until I went to my gyno to get on birth control, and she recommended Tri-Sprintec because it helped with acne. At first, I felt mild nausea and severe depression/mood swings/etc., but as time passed, this went away. Each time I got back on the medication, I would have a terrible breakout period, but it's completely worth it. This is a great pill, and I've never had problems with it."

For Birth Control "At the age of 29, I began using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I was a bit emotional for the first two months, and then this went away. My cramps are very light, and I only have mood swings for a few hours at the beginning of that week. My periods are lighter and on schedule. The only continuous side effect is breast tenderness. It can be really frustrating."

For Birth Control "I was on Depo for six years and recently switched. So far, I love this birth control. My skin is so clear and glowing. I have short periods but mild headaches and mood swings. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone because of the minimal side effects. I love that my weight is under control."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 3 months now. At first, I didn't really notice anything, but recently I have realized that I have gained a couple of pounds, even though I work out 5 times a week and eat relatively healthy. The worst part is my mood; I'll be happy-go-lucky one second, then become a psycho emotional wreck the next. I flip out about EVERYTHING and get really upset; I used to be very mellow and laid back. However, it has really cleared up my skin, and my period is regular now."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve been on Sprintec for about 6 years now, and I would never choose anything different. I’ve been on 4 different types of the pill previously, and this one works wonderfully for me. My breasts did grow a whole cup, my periods are short and regular, and I haven’t had acne my whole adult life because of Sprintec. No more mood swings either! Kinda sad when I’m going to have to go off of it eventually!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for about 2 months. I recently noticed weight gain and really bad mood swings. I cry for no reason, so I decided to check online. Turns out a lot of people taking Sprintec had similar problems, which is a relief because I thought I had depression for a bit. But my breast got bigger, that's good, I guess. My period is shorter and lighter, no acne either. So overall it's okay. I just hope I stop being so emotional soon."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My whole life I’ve had irregular periods, and without having some guidance, I didn’t seek medical help until now because I had abnormal bleeding (I bled for 2 months straight). My doctor told me to take Estarylla for the next 3 months to see how it would affect my flow. Once I started taking it, it immediately helped slow down and stop my flow. 2 weeks later, my period came back, but I expected it to because the birth control is to regulate my period. I had my period for way longer than I’ve ever had it (typically have it for 5 days, and then I’m good, but this time it lasted a week and a half). Then I got a 4-day break, and my period came back AGAIN. Called my doctor to ask what to do, and all I was told was this is normal. This medication also gives really bad gas and stomach pains, acne, and mood swings. DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING."

For Birth Control "I am 28 years old. I have never felt any side effects from any birth control I have ever taken. My doctor, however, switched me to this one because of the price, I assume. Since I began taking it a month ago, I have been extremely emotional, crying when I'm happy, crying when I am sad. My mood swings are having an effect on my relationship, my kids and husband, as I am less patient and more tired. My face is also breaking out, which normally only happens when I am PMSing the week before my period. I called my doctor today to switch me off of this. I am only stating my experience to reassure others if having the same side effects that it is not you coming down with depression. It is only the pill."

For Birth Control "I was originally on a different pill, but my insurance wouldn’t cover the name brand, so I was switched to Mono-Linyah. The first month I took this, I suffered from painful cramps and mood swings. I attributed these to switching birth control, and after the first month, they went away. I continued using this pill for a year with little side effects and a lighter, shorter period, yay! But after a year, all the benefits stopped. My acne has exploded! My hair is thinning and falling out. I bleed randomly between periods, and during my regular period, I experience horrible cramps and really heavy bleeding. I started experiencing abnormal levels of anxiety and panic attacks, and I slipped into a really dark depressive state for 2-3 months. The only reason I’m still taking this pill is because it does its job in the sense that it prevents pregnancy. I will be seeing a doctor soon to switch."

For Birth Control "I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for over ten years. I have had zero issues, I mean ZERO. Since they have discontinued this product, my Kaiser pharmacy put me on Tri-Sprintec. THAT WAS INSAAAAAANE. They say it's the 'same' or a generic, but if you have been on Tri-Ortho, it is not. Massive mood swings, dehydration, my heart was racing like no other, I was low-key freaking out, etc. NOW I am being forced to try another generic, Tri-Estarylla. I will update once I have been on it for a few weeks."

For Acne "I have had acne since I was 12 (I'm 21 now), and this did not clear me up completely, but my acne is definitely better, they aren't as big or painful, less cystic acne. The first week it, I was very emotional and nauseous, but when it passed, everything was fine. I also did not gain weight, nor did my hair get thinner, or I don't notice because I have naturally thick, curly hair. I do recommend Ortho Tri-Cyclen."
