For Birth Control "This was my first time being on birth control. The first few days were fine, I started it on a Monday, but on Friday morning I was throwing up. After that day, I was always nauseous and had insane mood swings. I'd crave something, then once I got it, the smell of it made me wanna puke. The only thing I was really able to eat was crackers and soup. The second Monday after I changed my patch... that night I had weird dreams, and I kept waking up feeling sick. I couldn't take it anymore, in the middle of that night, I took that patch right off. I don't know if it's due to the fact that I'm tiny, 104 pounds, and at the time I wasn't eating a lot. But I'm not even gonna try it again, nausea is not fun at all. Anyway, I'm on the pill now, could be happier."

For Birth Control "I have been on the Evra patch for a little over a month. I'd have to say this is the worst birth control method. Right away I noticed I gained water weight. My boobs and stomach got a lot bigger, I gained the most weight. Other than the fact that I put on a few pounds, I also was very nauseous, shaky, and sweating for about 3 nights of a month. I didn't enjoy that either. I'm going back on an oral birth control method once my period is over, and I can't wait to have the patch out of my system."

For Birth Control "I LOVE the patch!! I was on the pill for a long time (about 3-4 years) and tried 4 different ones. They mainly made me sick to my stomach or have crazy mood swings/aggression. In college, I found it harder to take the pill on time and wanted to try different, more permanent birth controls. I tried NuvaRing with no success (unfortunately, it would move around too much and be quite uncomfortable), and the shot for 6 months (which made me horribly depressed and was the first birth control to cause weight gain for me). Then, I came across the patch!! It is amazing. I lost some weight, my breasts grew a bit (a side effect I didn't want), and no mood swings! No nausea and no appetite fluctuations. If anything, I'd say it curbed my appetite."

For Birth Control "This is my second week using Evra. Boobs got bigger, which is good, but very tender. I never stopped bleeding since my period (spotting), and I hope it stops because I cannot have sex if I'm bleeding, it makes me very uncomfortable. Hopefully, it will stop once my period comes again. I still haven't used it without condoms, so who knows, but I really hope it works. The patch stops being sticky around the edges, but it stays on. Had a few pimples, which happens almost never to me. Nausea lasts for like 10 seconds, but hey, if it works, it's nice."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for a month, and I am thinking of changing. I have had headaches so bad they make me want to cry 24/7. I also have been nauseous almost every single day after being on it for a week. I have been extremely emotional and had times when I feel very shaky. The fact that this puts off a lot more hormones than other birth control is the reason it is causing me to have these reactions, I think."

For Birth Control "I'm 17, been on the patch for over a year, and I recommend. If Ortho Evra patch is too expensive/big, try generic Xulane. Same method, no difference in effectiveness/side effects, just smaller and doesn't leave as much fabric around the glue lining as Ortho Evra. Experienced nausea, breast tenderness around the time of the period, and cramps that decreased greatly now that I'm used to it. No weight gain, doesn't fall off through shower/exercise, and if you forget to put a new patch on your patch change day, you are still protected for, I believe, 3 days. After that, use backup and start a new patch change day on the day you remembered to put it on. Been with partner over 1 year, 0 scares. Had slight temper before patch, so only mood change was more emotional/sensitive, lol."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 3 weeks now, as soon as I started using it, I felt a difference. I researched the patch before I went to get on it, but I didn't know I'd have so many side effects and for so long. For 3 weeks straight, I've been feeling like I'm on my period, sort of horrible constant body cramping, very irritable. Nausea and dizziness, also very sore breasts. I've been sleeping so much after taking this and still feel tired, I've been sleeping about 12 hours almost every day. I've also noticed a bit of weight gain too. And I've been having mood swings, feeling depressed and unmotivated, I've been staying in bed mostly. I've only tried the pill and the patch. I'm forgetful about taking a pill every day, that's why I changed to the patch. I don't want to try anything else, but I've been thinking about the depo shot. Maybe I should just wait and see if all the side effects will go away, it doesn't really seem worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I am 16, and this was my first method of birth control. I wasn't good at taking pills, so I chose this. In the first couple of weeks, my breasts felt tender. I only felt nauseous one time. I've had some headaches, but nothing too bad. I also got more acne, but now that I'm at the end of 3 months, it seems like it's gone away. I also fear that it will make me gain weight because I have gained 2-4 pounds since then. But I think my breasts got bigger."

For Birth Control "I have just started the patch birth control, and I love it. I cannot swallow pills to the best of my abilities, unfortunately, so that would never work for me. I was on Depo for a year and experienced heavy cramping and bleeding the entire time. The patch seems to be working okay so far, I am experiencing nausea and migraines, but I just hope it passes soon as this is my first week on the patch itself. I really hope this birth control works because I do not like any of the other birth control options out there, and I am hoping that the side effects go away soon."

For Birth Control "I have been using the Evra patch for a year and a half, and it's great. For the first 6 months or so, I would experience nausea on the first day of a new box of patches and gained about ten pounds, but those are my only complaints. It is easy to use and sticks really well. I did have a patch come off ONCE, but that was because my skin was not entirely dry when I applied the patch, and I also did not press on the patch as long as I probably should have. As a lot of other reviews mention, the patch does form a small dark layer of lint around the edges, which some people find disgusting, but it really isn't that big of a deal. I apply it on the sides of my hips, so it is concealed in a bikini or tank tops. It has never come off in this position."

For Birth Control "I've been on and off the patch for the last 4 years. I've tried what seems like every birth control pill under the sun with no good results. I could easily remember to take the patch, but it always seemed to have some type of side effect. At first, I had bad headaches, or the first day I started the patch, I was so sick to my stomach. I was not on any type of birth control for a couple of months and developed an ovarian cyst. So I got back on the patch, and now it seems like I get a yeast infection each month."

For Birth Control "My experience on Ortho Evra was not a pleasant one. My main symptoms were bad nausea, painful soreness in my breasts, and terrible mood swings. I've been on the patch for almost 3 years now. I thought that it was great because of the efficient one time a week system. But I didn't realize how 60% more estrogen than every other birth control could affect your body."

For Birth Control "I am having a great time with the patch. I was on the ring for around 6 months (at age 15) and had continuous breakthrough bleeding. Since my switch to the patch, that's cleared up. I've been on it for almost a year, and I haven't experienced any nausea or headaches. I have gained around 10 pounds, and I cry and get emotional more now. The patch can look a little nasty, but that's fine. And SUPER SHORT PERIODS!! One 3-4 days now!!"

For Birth Control "I tried the Ortho Evra patch for one day, and instantly the patch was extremely itchy. I had a continuous headache within hours of the medication. I felt nauseous and a little achy. Honestly, it's probably not for everyone. I'm only 145 lbs, and I've never been on birth control before, so hopefully the hormones wear off and have no long-term side effects."

For Birth Control "I used the patch a couple of years ago and do not remember the side effects I am having now. I am nauseous, my breasts are swollen and sore, and I am retaining water. My moods are through the roof, and I hope this levels out soon."

For Birth Control "I had the patch on for two days and just could not do it, have just ripped it off. Got nauseous for anything and everything, for example, smells or ideas of eating, absolutely no appetite, and headaches. Worst experience I have ever had."

For Birth Control "I have been on this patch for a little under two weeks now, and I just took the thing off tonight due to some serious side effects I was experiencing. I haven't slept for 3 nights, even on 10 MG of Melatonin and my anxiety medication, which normally knocks me right out when I'm having a bad night. I have been completely exhausted and fatigued. Then today, I felt nauseated all day, and then started chest pains on my left side that went from tolerable to severe throughout the day. I finally decided to look up the side effects of the patch on Drugs.com and found everything I was feeling in the list. So I ripped that thing off, and not even an hour later, I have felt 90% better. Better than I have in days. 1/10 would not try again."

For Birth Control "I didn’t like Ortho Evra at all. I gave it a go for 3 months, and the first batch of patches it was fine: some spotting, nothing serious, SUPER SENSITIVE boobs, and super nauseous but manageable. Then I noticed I started gaining weight, and the second batch of patches I had my period. One week after, I started with super heavy bleeding nonstop, huge blood clots for 2 weeks straight. Then it was just light spotting for one day, and then back again to extreme bleeding. That’s when I decided to stop it. I don’t think it’s the right birth control method for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for almost 2 years, and now it's really starting to affect me. The last few months, I've had appetite issues ranging from near-binge eating to complete loss of appetite. The last month, I've had extreme anxiety, chest pain, headaches, nervousness, shaking...the works. I've not experienced any vomiting, but nausea accompanies the loss of appetite. I have a doctor's appointment in a couple of days, and I'm definitely getting off of this. It was effective for a long time for treating ovarian cysts, but now it is really negatively affecting my day-to-day life."

For Birth Control "I think I had every possible side effect there was to have with this birth control. I gave this method several attempts and still fail. I had rashes wherever I put it, skin discoloration, constant yeast infections (no matter the placement), headaches, nausea, it kept coming off, bloating. The one good thing I can say about it is (no babies). Good luck, everyone is different."

For Birth Control "I've been on the birth control patch for about seven months, and while I've never had issues with forgetting to change it, or it falling off (on the contrary, it HURTS when I have to rip them off after a week), I have noticed in the last couple of months that on my patch change day I become very lightheaded and nauseous and usually end up throwing up multiple times over the course of 4-8 hours. I generally feel nauseous, or just unwell for the next three days after as well. I always stuck it to my lower sides, switching each week, but this past week I affixed it to my arm and did find that I was less ill, but I did still throw up multiple times. For this reason, I am switching methods because it is not worth it to me to be this sick this often."

For Birth Control "Started the patch this month, am on the 4th day of the patch-free week and spent the last few days terrified that I might be pregnant. Today I got my 'period,' aka BC withdrawal bleeding, but have been nauseous all night. So, still not sure where I stand on the pregnancy thing. Have also noticed: sore breasts, weight gain of around 5 kg despite no increase in appetite and sometimes even eating less than usual (not fun since I'm already overweight to start with), strange dry itchy rash on my lower inner thighs, some vaginal dryness. Overall, I don't have much confidence in this. Even if I'm not pregnant, it's scary to see the edges peeling off or a regular shower loosening the adhesive. Switching back to condoms and will save for an IUD."

For Birth Control "I've been on this BC for 2 months now, and I love it! It's easy to remember, and I don't have to swallow a pill. I found that I had some cramping and felt nauseous the first month, but other than that, everything was fine. It also gives me lighter and shorter periods, which is a huge perk."

For Birth Control "I have been on Ortho Evra for three months, and my experiences so far have been okay. The very first week of starting the patch, I was very nauseous, had some diarrhea, and very bad headaches (however, I think this would be the case with most methods). Usually, the first week is the worst. Since then, I've had random headaches and nausea (mostly on the patch 'change' days). Unfortunately, I had terrible abnormal vaginal bleeding that seemed to be like a heavy period for a little bit over two weeks. My only other complaint is that the patch gets stuck to my clothing a lot, and it concerns me. Sometimes it gets bubbles in it, or it looks like it's falling off. However, I like the ease of use and the fact that it is not a pill."
For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for over a year, and I love it. I had a bad experience with the Nexplanon and breakthrough bleeding. I don't have that issue with the patch. I do not have extreme mood swings or weight gain either. The only downside to it is that I get nauseous for a day or two on the first week after the no-patch week."
