For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for about 8-10 years. At first, it was great only getting your period a few times a year. In the time I was on it, my face started to break out, and I gained about 40 lbs. I was depressed and had no energy or sex drive as well. I would spot for weeks until stopping so I would get my period. I finally got off of it because my health insurance ran out. Almost immediately, my skin cleared up, and I lost 20 lbs. Then I started dating someone, so I had to get back on. I started with Mono-Lynthia, which was fine for my skin but made my hair fall out. I then switched back to Seasonique, and I have been on it for a week and already have had 3 huge zits on my chin and feel extremely moody and bloated."

"I'm 32 yrs old, mom of 2, never been on birth control before. Started Seasonique 5 months ago in hopes of having just 4 periods a year (hubby can't have more kids). Some friends take it and are happy with it. I started taking it the 1st day of my period and bled for about 2 weeks past when it should have stopped. Excited when I thought I was done, but then it started up again. Basically been bleeding on and off (mostly on) since then, with very few days of relief and clotting. Usually minimal spotting, but enough for me to want to avoid sex. Side effects I've noticed have been hair loss, no sex drive at all, dryness when sex does happen, cramping, no weight gain, moody, enlarged breasts. Just stopped. Can't take it anymore. Rather bleed 1 week a month."

"I have been on Seasonique for 3 years. At first, I had no problems with the pill. Recently, I have noticed an extreme change in my body. I have severe mood swings along with depression. I have also had severe cramps and breakthrough bleeding. For as long as I can remember, I have not had a sex drive, which is not good being newly married. It's almost to the point where I do not want to be touched at all. My legs ache all of the time no matter what I am doing, and I have gained around 10 lbs. I have always had bad periods, and it has helped a little but not enough to continue to stay on this pill. I am now asking myself why I have stayed on this pill for so long."

"I started taking Seasonique a month ago. My doctor told me to take it on the first day of my period. I've been bleeding ever since, although it's not heavy, I still need to wear a pad every day. I'm going to stop in the middle of the pack because I can't take this bleeding anymore. My sex drive is non-existent right now. I took Seasonique last summer and absolutely loved it! Had no problem at all."

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for over a year now, and it has not given me any serious problems. No acne, no weight gain, no abnormal bleeding. However, I have experienced weird cravings, and if you are forgetful, expect to start breakthrough bleeding for a while. My periods always last 3 to 4 days with no excessive bleeding, but the past 2 periods I have had cramps for the first time I have been on it, not severe, and they go away fast, but they are still there. One more complication is that I have a very decreased sex drive, but that's not a very big deal for me, but may be for other women. Overall, I have good experiences with Seasonique and no severe problems."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Seasonique for over three years now. As much as I can say how great it is to only have my period four times a year, there's a lot that I do not like about it. I tend to have spotting for two to three weeks at a time during the active pills, even when I take them at exactly the same time every day. My period starts off great but then gets really heavy towards the end. Sex drive is non-existent for a few weeks at a time. And now I'm paying three times as much as I did because I lost prescription coverage when I changed plans. I'm calling my OB tomorrow and asking her to give me a script for something cheaper and a little more dependable."

For Birth Control "I had been through many forms of birth control. Then I tried Seasonique. The doctor warned me it could take 6-9 months to get regular, so I stuck it out through breakthrough bleeding every other week, and boy do I regret it. After one year, I finally became regular, but then I had many muscle spasms, mood swings, cramps, mild headaches, and a TOTAL LACK OF MY SEX DRIVE and no lubrication during sex. Even though I took my pill at exactly 9:15 every morning, one day (after over 20 months of being on it), I was two hours late and I had a two-week period when I was still on the active pills. I have chosen to switch to Loestrin 24. It's been a few months and so far I am back to my normal self."

For Birth Control "Was on this pill for three years for my polycystic ovarian syndrome. I loved it. No cramps, no weight gain, no acne, no spotting (unless, of course, I didn't take it at the same time every day). The only thing I noticed was I lost my sex drive. I am somewhat worried too; I wanted to give my body a break, so I was off the pill for three months and almost went bald. I'm not sure if my PCOS caused it or if my body became dependent on the pill and the lack of hormones caused it. So now I'm currently seeing my doctor to resolve this problem, and more than likely he will refer me out to an endocrinologist to help regulate my hormones. But remember, each person is different, and what worked for someone may not work for you and vice versa."

"I really wish I had read all these reviews before I started. I started taking Seasonique a little over a month ago. I absolutely LOVE the idea of rarely having periods, seeing how when I do have them, they are heavy for over a week normally. Except I have noticed a major change in myself. I cry over EVERYTHING and get angry over EVERYTHING, I never used to be like this. I didn't have too big of a sex drive before the pill, but now it's completely gone. I also recently have been getting terrible shooting pain in my stomach."

For Birth Control "I'm giving this medicine a 5/10 because I bleed for over a month. One month, two weeks to be exact, and it has also taken my sex drive away completely. I mean, 100%, I don't even want to look at a man. I hope my man doesn't leave me. I'm thinking about getting off this and moving to Mirena, which is what I originally wanted, but the initial cost is so high. When dealing with hormones, I know my body will be altered in some way, but pity about my sex drive."

For Birth Control "I was previously on Mirvala consistently for 3 months on, 1 week off to help treat my endometriosis symptoms. That worked for about 2.5 years, when everything started going downhill (breakouts, painful breakthrough bleeding, continuous spotting, painful sex, low libido). My GP had me switch to Indayo (Seasonique). I thought, what the heck, give it a go. 2 years in, and I still get a full breakthrough period halfway through the pills, random cramps all the time, nonexistent libido, the works. I finally went back to my gyno for my second surgery for endo, and he said that's insane that my GP has kept me on Seasonique with these side effects for so long (my GP just kept saying, 'yeah, that will happen for a while until your body gets used to it.'). I'm now being switched to Lolo - let's see how that goes. Not that I wouldn't recommend it, but listen to your body if the side effects are too much to manage. It would have been awesome if it worked as intended, but it didn't for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on Seasonique for a year now and absolutely love it. The only things that I've experienced are a little bit of cramping around the time I would normally have a period, but nothing too bad. I have gotten a little more emotional since being on the pill and have had a small acne issue around my jawline, which I had never had before, but nothing that bad. My sex drive did go down a bit in the first couple of months, but then I was back to normal. I highly recommend Seasonique to anyone who's considering it for birth control. I mean, you can't beat only four periods a year."

For Birth Control "I wish I could give this a zero! I was on this for almost two years. It was the worst mistake I ever made. I took them continually (never having a period). I only did this because I was having diverticulitis flares with every menstrual, so my doctor teamed up and needed me to stop my periods for a while. I gained 40 pounds, had zero sex drive. It did interfere with my marriage. I was sad, depressed, and moody. I had no energy... then came the panic attacks. I've never had those before. Luckily, by chance, a round of antibiotics I was taking for a UTI made me have breakthrough bleeding, so my doctor said to get off and allow my body to have a period. I'll never get back on them. Please be careful with these pills!!!!!"

For Birth Control "Seems like a good idea to have 4 periods in a year, but I've been on it for about a year now, and on the last month, I get my period for 3-4 weeks, NOT COOL! Plus, sex drive plummeted."

For Birth Control "Gained a lot of weight on this pill. I'm always hungry. Absolutely no sex drive, which puts strain on the relationship. I'm on my last row of pills of the third month and still no period. I'm fixed, so I know I'm not pregnant. I will be stopping this pill once I'm done with this last pack."
