For Birth Control "This birth control has come with a couple of side effects for me, but overall, I think it's completely worth it, and the side effects are minor and can be controlled. I've been on it for about 1.5 months. This drug gives me no nausea whatsoever, and I have an extremely sensitive stomach. One side effect is it makes me break out a bit. I haven't had acne for several years now, but a couple of weeks into taking this pill, I did start getting bumps. The breakouts aren't too bad, though. The only other thing is I've noticed my appetite increase quite a bit. I normally don't get hungry till 10-11 AM, but the pill makes me starving the second I wake up, and I can consume more food. So just watch your weight while you're on it if that's something you struggle with."

For Birth Control "I've been on Seasonique for 6 days, and I am not losing hope just yet! The first 3 days were horrific. Mood swings, nausea, hot/cold flashes, sensitive breasts, and weird appetite changes causing me to undereat. The nausea is still there, but it is slowly getting better. My period started on a Sunday, and that's the first day I took the pill. My period lasted a little longer than normal, but I have stopped bleeding today. Cramps were terrible, and I also had really bad gas and a feeling of needing to make a BM in the night. Coming onto day 7, I feel confident in this BC. I've always had terrible, irregular periods, heavy flows, cramps so bad I would call in sick from work, and I was sick of it! I am also anemic, so between the painful cramps and blood loss, my doctor thought BC would be best for me. I'm determined to take at least the full 3 months prescribed so I can get a better idea of its effects on my body and if it's beneficial or not. So far, could be better, could be worse!"

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "Two weeks after beginning Seasonique, I began developing severe cramps and heavy bleeding. I went to the doctor who prescribed it to me, and he told me to wait it out and to continue taking it. However, about a week later, I was in such severe pain (and extremely nauseous) that I had to be taken to the emergency room. The ER doc said that my symptoms were likely due to the birth control pill, as the body can take two to three months to adjust to it. However, she advised me to stop the pill because I had been bleeding for three weeks and was having severe cramps (worse than my usual periods). I would not recommend this pill to anyone, and I don't know if I'd ever be willing to try another birth control pill again after this awful experience."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I thought this birth control option was the holy grail for my long and excruciatingly painful periods. I had tried it a few years ago, and it made me sick to my stomach for about four weeks, so I stopped. But I tried it again and LOVED it. Four periods a year that were totally manageable... sign me up! My incessant mood swings were better, my skin was clear, it was great. All was well until I realized that I had gained 40 lbs, my health started rapidly deteriorating, and I learned my liver was near failing. If this medicine didn't have these horrible side effects, I would have stayed on it forever and given them all of my money. Obviously, I had to be taken off of it though for the sake of my liver and to get back to a healthy weight. I'll probably give the NuvaRing another try and possibly use it to skip periods like my Seasonique naturally did since my periods are back to being painful now without it. If you want to try this, I say go for it, but it's NOT a long-term solution."

"I went on Seasonique for PMDD. The first month was hard, was vomiting, very nauseated among other things, but stuck it out. I eventually felt fine, and it took away all my PMS and periods. I had some zits along my jawline and cheeks, but to me, it was worth it. Fast forward to 5 months later. I missed ONE pill, and all hell broke loose. I started spotting, okay normal. Then a lot of blood. I’ve been bleeding for 18 days now. I stopped this birth control 3 days ago, and I am experiencing terrible bloating/gas/anxiety/stomach issues. Just want this drug out of my system."

For Birth Control "Honestly, I hate to write these reviews because I feel like they can scare people; however, I have been on Seasonique for 2 months now and have had some weird side effects. I was on Yasmin for a year and had no side effects from the beginning. When I switched to Seasonique, I experienced some nausea, which was normal. Then I started breaking out really bad, which for me was never an issue before, and I'm 21 years old. The part that really concerns me is that I've had a heavy period for 3 weeks that started while going into the second month. My normal periods are light and 4 days. It has also been accompanied by severe headaches. On the upside, I did not gain weight, and I am not pregnant."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for 2 weeks now, and the only side effects I've experienced are very mild nausea, very light spotting, and mild cramps. This birth control is definitely appealing to me because I hate having my period."

For Birth Control "I've been on the Teva pill for a week, and so far, I've been experiencing nausea, cramps, headaches, and general fatigue. I told myself I'd give it a month because it was intended to help me with my bad menstrual cycle, but I don't know if I'll be able to go on like this. I can barely function. I've been experiencing waves of depression too. If I continue to use it, I'll give an update, but it isn't looking so great right now."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I went on this birth control to limit my periods as I have PCOS, and I can't walk, work, or do anything for 3 days a month, every month. During the first two weeks on this birth control, I was extremely nauseous and extremely hungry (I gained 12 pounds in a month). After the first two weeks, I started spotting, and a week after that, I got my period. I have been full-blown bleeding now for two months. I'm extremely moody and have been fighting with my family, my boyfriend, and everyone around me because of this stupid pill. It did stop my anxiety and panic attacks, but I don't think it's worth it to ruin every relationship around you. I'll update once the three months are over if everything actually works out, but I don't believe it will. I take it at the exact same time every day, with food. I've never missed a dose. If this is your last resort like mine, then maybe try it, but please ask your doctor for other options, as this one will ruin 3 months of your life."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I tried Seasonique for a month and 3 weeks because it was recommended by a relative, not blood related. It worked for her but I do not think it worked for me. My experience was nausea in the first two weeks, but nothing too bad. Several weeks in, even though I was eating less, I actually gained a few lbs, I believe it is water. I also experienced throbbing in my legs, tightness in my back, headaches, lower abdominal cramping (way more than usual), and sometimes chest pain, and an overall feeling of heaviness. I stopped taking it due to worrisome side effects being the throbbing and bloating just in case. I have never had a problem with water retention before. I have PCOS, so I am used to feeling unwell with some of those things in particular, but I think Seasonique heightened them. The benefits were less hair loss, less cravings, but not worth the bloat. I hope this medication works for others, I am going to try YAZ next due to it having a different chemical compound."

"I started this medication 6 weeks after I had my first child. I had stopped postpartum bleeding about 2 weeks before I started on the birth control. Once I started Seasonique, I began to bleed again for about 3 weeks. I called my doctor because I was concerned, but she said it was normal because of all the hormone changes my body was going through. I am about to finish the 3rd month and start my first period on this pill. In the beginning, nausea seemed to happen a lot, but it has ceased in the last month. It's hard to tell if I feel bloated or not because I gave birth 4 months ago, and I still have 10 pounds of baby weight to get off. Other than that, I have been happy with this pill. I missed a pill twice this month and never bled or spotted."

For Birth Control "I am on just Day 2 and I cramp and feel nauseated. I take them at night now to see if I could sleep those symptoms away, but no luck. It's morning time and I feel cramps and bloated. Anyway, it's Day 2 and I paid $$$ for this thing...wonder if I should chuck it or just deal with it."

"So... I'm 43 and decided I just didn't want a period anymore as my hubby is fixed! I started on Seasonique. I was nauseous on the 3rd day, but that went away on day 6. Everything was great. I took it religiously for a month and a half straight, and then I missed one pill by about an hour... just an hour. The next 3 days were a nightmare, and I swear I gave birth to goodness knows what. I was in so much pain. My uterine lining came out in 3 big clumps! It was absolutely awful. I have never had bad period cramps in my life... I've had 3 kids, and this topped labor pains. I wish I had good things to say, but it was just an awful experience!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 4 days, and so far I love it. I used to take Tri Previfem, which had different levels of hormones throughout the package. So far, I have had no irregular bleeding and very little nausea. I have had an increase in vaginal discharge, but nothing a pad won't solve. I have had an increase in appetite as well, and small mood swings. I highly recommend this pill. I have had a much better experience than I did with Tri Previfem."
