For Birth Control "I was 22 when I was taking the pill and was on it for 3 months. I stopped because of the side effects. I was getting very, very emotional and moody about everything. At first, I wasn't sure if it was the birth control, but I talked to other friends, and they also had similar problems. I also got very sore breasts, which I never dealt with before, so it really bothered me. And the biggest thing was I had a hard time remembering to take my pill around the same time, then would get very paranoid I would become pregnant. I then tried the shot, but that didn't go well either, so I'm going to try the patch next!"

For Birth Control "This birth control has made my anxiety unbearable. I used to not be a cryer, but now I'll cry at the slightest thing that goes wrong. It has gotten so bad I forget the old me."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This was for my cycle regulation. It was okay until my hair started shedding. Every time I ran my hand through it, it would come out with 5-7 hairs, bulb and all. My hairdresser noticed there was excessive shedding in the brush when I went, and I'm still sweeping up hairs all over my apartment and picking them off everything. I also felt angrier, and my anxiety intensified in the fourth month to the point where I couldn't control it, so I switched off. There was no weight gain, breast growth, etc., but it also didn't make my periods any less painful, and they were still very heavy. I spotted the full first month, but it stopped in the second. My sex drive was increased, and I had a breakout of a few cystic acne lesions in the third month, which was awful because I never get acne, and it left some hyperpigmentation scarring. I wouldn't go back on it. Maybe it will work for some, I must just be sensitive to the progestin used in Alesse."
