For Birth Control "For me, my period was a horrendous time of debilitating cramps. I’m talking passing out, vomiting, weakness in my body, extreme fatigue, feeling like someone’s clawing out my uterus type pain. On top of that, I did suffer from ruptured ovarian cysts from time to time. I couldn’t take it anymore because it was affecting my life, I had to plan everything around those 6 days of hell. I went to my OBGYN, and she gave me Slynd. The first month was terrible, I was bleeding every day-nothing crazy, but it was every day for 4 weeks, and I was also cramping as if I had my period. They were painful, but not as bad as my regular period cramping was. The second month I spotted on the placebo days. Now, I haven’t had a period since, no cramps, but my boobs grew 3 sizes and I do experience breast tenderness. I don’t miss my period at all, and this pill literally helped tremendously."

For Birth Control "I had been on the combo pill for years. And this year, I went to my gyno, and my blood pressure was abnormally high, so she refused to refill my pill. I was switched to Norethindrone, and I had the heaviest, most painful period ever. My periods were irregular and lasted 17 days. I went back to my dr, and I was terrified all the pills she was going to try would have the same results. She told me Slynd was new and she thought it would be a good fit. I am so glad I didn’t give up. I am halfway into my 3rd pack. My periods have been so light, almost spotting, like minor cramps, no acne, moods improved, and my sex drive has gone up majorly (hubs isn’t complaining). My only complaint is my last period was 4 days late. But they are so light and last 3 days (my previous pill was the 3-month 1-period pill, and I prefer this over that one as well)."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd in February 2022, and it’s May 2022 now. The first month, I had light spotting when my period was due and REALLY bad cramps, which I’ve never had, super bad cramps before. I couldn’t move because of them, and they lasted about 10 minutes (not exaggerating). I am about to start my 4th pack and haven’t had a period. I haven’t had any spotting or bleeding for months 2 and 3. I have anxiety, so I’m very anxious about being pregnant. I keep taking tests because I’m so anxious. It also has affected my mood dramatically. I have depression and anxiety already, and the reason I switched to this birth control was because it was supposed to help with my PMDD. It made it worse. I almost got sent to a residential mental facility. I became extremely angry and extremely depressed (considered suicide heavily). I’m glad to see it worked for a lot of people, but it’s just not for me…"

For Birth Control "So I’m starting the last week of the first pack. I've felt a little nauseous on and off throughout the whole month. Right now, it’s 2 am and I’m feeling awful. This makes my back hurt, and I have cramps at least once a day. It makes me feel bloated all the time. No weight gain or spotting. This BC gives me small little bumps all over my face. I guess we’ll see by the end of this week if it prevents pregnancy or not. If someone were to experience the same side effects as me, I would not recommend."

For Birth Control "I had to come off the combination pill I was on after 30 years, give or take, after I developed a huge DVT in my leg from my ankle to my stomach. My GP and hematologist recommended Slynd, or Slinda as it is known here in Australia. I have been on it for 3 months now, and I wish it was around 30 years ago. I have always had heavy, painful periods. Now I haven't had a period, only a little cramping and bloating for a few days, then gone. So far, this pill has been such a relief, I never realized just how much pain I was in every month until now that it's gone. My iron and ferritin levels have been the best they have ever been for the first time, it looks like I might even avoid an iron infusion too. In Australia, this medication isn't on the PBS, so it costs $75 for a 3-pack."

For Birth Control "Started taking Slynd several months ago. I'm 39, I have heavy periods with lots of pain, and I get migraines with aura. Slynd was an alternative to norethindrone, which caused me bloating, major oral issues, and daily dehydration symptoms even when cutting caffeine. Here are the benefits after taking it for 90 days: light periods, no facial flushing, no heavy cramps except sometimes, it cured my anxiety completely, and I experienced short-term depression for 1-2 months but am better. However, there are severe downfalls: my mouth is severely dry all the time, my gums are pale, and my tongue is coated with white. I lost hair. I have weird leg cramps at night and dull headaches consistently. I urinate frequently, which triggers a bladder condition I already have, it's a strong diuretic. All of my blood work and urinalysis are coming out normal. This is strange to me. Hope this helps someone decide."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Slynd for about 7 months now, and switched to this just to try it out after previously taking norethindrone for years and just not liking the way my feet would swell up on it. With Slynd, I no longer retain water weight like I did with the previous pill, but my cycle is crazy whacked out. I get my period pretty much every other week for about 5-7 days, sometimes it’s full bleeding with all the period symptoms (cramps, back pain, fatigue, grouchiness, headaches, brain fog) and other times it’s just light bleeding. It’s not regular at all, and I feel like I’m constantly dealing with PMS or menstruation. Psychologically, I’m exhausted all the time but can’t fall asleep, irritable, restless, and depressed. It took me a while to even consider it might be the birth control, but that’s the only variable that’s changed. I’m glad to hear that this works so well for other people, but unfortunately, I can’t wait to switch back to norethindrone."

For Birth Control "I’m 23 and was on Slynd because I suffer from migraines. I was on Slynd for 4 months. The 1st month was okay, I just had awful cramps. I figured it was my body adjusting because, without birth control, I would sometimes have horrible cramps too. I did, however, spot for a week prior to my period, but I know the body takes at least 3 months to adjust, so I waited. The 2nd month, I had 4 days with no bleeding at all, but again, the spotting was very mild, and this time, no cramps. The third month, I had 2 weeks of no spotting, so I thought my body was adjusting. Boy, was I WRONG. This last month I was on it, I bled incessantly all month and started passing huge clots. I wouldn’t soak through pads or tampons or even liners, but the clots were huge and felt super uncomfortable. It’s just not worth it. I don’t want to be bleeding like this or passing clots, and I miss sex. Slynd is most definitely not for me. I'm only giving it a 3-star rating because the few times I did get to have sex, I didn’t get pregnant, so it did its job, I guess."

For Birth Control "I've been on this Slynd birth control pill for a week, after getting off the depo shot. I have cramping, assuming from the pill because I didn't cramp with the shot. This was a temporary method until I get the IUD. I don't like taking pills, and I would never suggest anyone take this pill because of the bad cramping that makes me cry."

"After experiencing a failed uterine ablation, my male gynae surgeon decided this drug would be a great option for me. I was hesitant to take it due to previous adverse effects with birth control pills in the past. I talked through my concerns with him, I was reassured this was a brand new drug and had little to no side effects. Ha. I'm on week four, my period, which has been like clockwork for the last 15 years, even after having a uterine ablation, came a week early (while I was taking the active tablets). Go figure. Awful cramps leading up to bleeding and throughout. During the first two weeks, I was extremely emotional, crying at everything, getting rage angry at everything, and most disturbingly having awful thoughts about harming myself. My hair is falling out in clumps in the shower, to the point where I now have visible thinning around my hairline. My libido is non-existent. I haven't thought about sex in a month. No way would a doctor prescribe a drug with this many side effects to a man."

For Birth Control "It was a total roller coaster for me. I went on this birth control to try to diminish my painful heavy periods because doctors don’t want to operate on me. At first, I had six months of normal periods with pain as before. Then I had six months of increased bloating to the point where I had to buy a completely new wardrobe because none of my clothes fit me (this has not gone down). However, during this time, I did not get a period until randomly in month 13, I got the most horrendous period pain of my life, extreme nausea, but no actual bleeding, of course. I stopped it for a month, and the withdrawal period was so horrendous I had to take a week off work. I went back on it again because I was so terrified of the pain, but now I’m having cramps, but it’s the first week of the new pack. Positive points: I had no mood swings, but instead a low mood every day, and I haven’t got any acne."

For Birth Control "I took 3 months of Slynd based on my physician's advice. I switched from a pill (I also didn't pay a co-pay for) containing estrogen because I'm over 45 and get migraines. I had horrible side effects with this birth control pill. My OB/GYN advised to immediately stop. The side effects were the following: abdominal pain, cramping, no period at all (odd as my previous pill had a lite period). Now, months later I'm suffering from terrible pain and cramping. I'm very upset that the doctor pushed this pill on me, don't get me wrong as I agreed. Seems as if the pharma company is getting something in return."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd in October, and this is my first time using progesterone-only birth control since I have been experiencing severe acne. I did have irregular bleeding for the first 2 months, then it stopped. Now all I get is really bad cramping when I am due for my period. I was initially put on Slynd due to migraines, which were under control, but recently I have been getting them again. These are the only symptoms I have experienced on Slynd, no other side effects, but unfortunately, these are enough for me to switch and try a different option."

For Birth Control "I am on my 6th month of Slynd. I was on Yaz before and loved it. But I was having constant migraines. My gyno switched me to Slynd. I have PCOS and endo. I have ChampVA insurance and it's not covered. My prices have ranged from 40 to 90 bucks. I have not had my period the entire time I have been on Slynd, and I have taken the placebo. A few days before, during, and after the placebo pills, I have dark, clotted blood only when I wipe. No real bleeding. My cramps are insane. The cysts are so awful. My back pain/sciatica nerve pain makes me cry. I have cystic acne and a ton of acne all over my face and back. I have never had acne this bad. The worst part... I have gained 30 pounds since starting this!! I am done. While I haven't had any migraines and haven't gotten pregnant... it's not worth my self-confidence that is making my depression and anxiety so much worse (I have had Mirena before and did fine with it. NuvaRing I got pregnant on. I have 2 kids, and I am 31.)"

For Birth Control "I'm grateful for all of these reviews, so I decided to leave my own. I have been on Slynd for seven months. The first three months were like magic. I typically have heavy periods with bad cramping (I have a fibroid), and all of that essentially disappeared. I was coming off of a pretty terrible IUD experience, so Slynd felt like a miracle pill. Months 4-6 got wonky. Periods got heavier again and bad cramping came back, but only during the placebo days, which was manageable. Month 6 was really weird because my period started in the middle of the pack and before I even hit the placebos. Month 7 has been awful. I've been having 'gush' breakthrough bleeding for 21 days straight now. I live in a maxipad or tampon because the gush is spontaneous and heavy, so it's impacting my mental health and quality of life. I'm going off of Slynd at month 7. It was fantastic at first, but I don't know why it changed."

"For the first time in my life, I am currently not taking painkillers to manage my period cramps. I am 27 years old and have always experienced severe menstrual cramps, which ibuprofen barely helped to alleviate. So, I started taking metamizole for the pain, but my flow is also very heavy. I have explored alternative medicine and tried a mini pill, but I had to stop taking it after three weeks due to weight gain and depression. Then I started taking Slynd, but for the first three months, I had my period twice a month, and the bleeding was just as heavy and painful as always. Furthermore, I experienced light bleeding in between the periods, so I only had about three days of no bleeding each month. It was a terrible experience. However, during the third blister's placebo pills, I didn't experience any bleeding, and all breakthrough bleeding stopped until day 11 of the next blister. My gynecologist has informed me that everything is looking good, and my period seems to be occurring in the middle of the blister. Although the flow is still heavy and there is some cramping, I haven't had to use any painkillers. I am currently in my fourth month of taking Slynd and plan to continue with it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd after being diagnosed with endometriosis. I am now on month 5, skipping the placebo pills altogether. The first 3 months I had on-and-off spotting and cramps, but that subsided in month 4. I am now having another phase of spotting/bleeding and some back pain (for about a week now), but hoping this will pass soon. The spotting phases have been uncomfortable but not as bad as a regular period with endo. Otherwise, I have had a really good experience. It took some time to adjust, but I feel pretty balanced now mentally and no other side effects. Combined pills made me miserable and really depressed, to the point that I didn't take anything for 10 years. With the endo diagnosis, I decided to give a progestin-only pill a try. I just hope this spotting/pain will subside but sticking to it for now."

For Birth Control "I’m almost done with my 2nd pack of Slynd, so far, I haven’t seen any weight gain. I’m still the same. I had mild bleeding for one week (pinkish when I went to the bathroom) then what felt like a period for a few days after that week. Cramps aren’t as bad as they used to be, I don’t seem like my acne is any different-still a little breakout from PMS. Eating habits feel the same, no stomach pains. I do suffer from an STD and have had a few small and short-term outbreaks, but maybe it’s just from still getting used to the pill."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd because I wasn’t a good candidate for an estrogen birth control. I have been on it for about 2 months, and it’s not terrible, but I’m switching birth controls anyway because of some negatives. First, let me list the positives: I haven’t experienced intense mood swings, if any at all, and no hair loss or cramps/nausea. However, here are the negatives I’ve experienced: my acne has progressively gotten worse, where my face just hurts, and I developed bad acne on my neck. I have also experienced light spotting the entire week before my period starts, however, it did make my period lighter."

For Birth Control "I have endo, adenomyosis, migraine with aura, and a little bit high blood pressure, 46 years old. I took the pill because of my adenomyosis - not to have menstruation or at least lessen it until my menopause. First packet: acne, twice a week migraine with aura (horrendous!), much more drinking and peeing, some tiredness during the day, but also much better sleeping and better mood (more calm and focused). At the end of the first packet, migraine and acne stopped, and sleeping went a little bit worse (still better than before the pill). At the same time (4th week), before placebo bleeding started (first brown spotting, then regular bleeding) with some mild cramps and breast tenderness. Because of fear of migraines, I skipped placebos. Now I am at the end of the second packet and went to dark spotting again. I don't mind bleeding at all, but I am thinking about the sense of taking this pill if I bleed even more than before it. Won't my endo and adenomyosis get worse with that?"

For Birth Control "After trying so many combo birth control pills for years with bad experiences, I was scared to try Slynd. I'm so glad I gave it a try. I have endometriosis, so I have to take it continuously. Slynd works so well with me - no PMDD, no cramps, no bleeding, no acne, no bloating! I am losing weight too. My appetite is normal. I always drink plenty of water, so I'm never thirsty on Slynd either. It has uplifted my mood, and everything finally feels just right. I believe this is the birth control that fits me."

For Birth Control "I had been taking Slynd for 5 months. I ignored the cramping and the nonstop bleeding, and also the cramping in my legs, and I stayed bloated all the time. I started having severe pain in my lower abdomen, went and got an ultrasound, and I now have fibroids on my uterine wall. I haven't taken Slynd in one week, and I already feel better. I don't recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "This pill has saved my life. I can't take combination birth control due to high blood pressure, so my gyno prescribed me Slynd after taking a different mini pill and having the worst side effects. With Slynd, I have never felt better. I used to have heavy bleeding, nausea, vomiting, and horrendous cramps. But since my first month of taking Slynd, my period is practically nonexistent. I have also had no visible side effects other than possible weight gain, but I'm also a college student with a horrible diet, so that could be the reason too. All in all, this pill has done God's work, and I'm not even religious."
