For Birth Control "I've only been on Zarah for almost 2 weeks. I know that is not long enough, but I have noticed I become nauseous here and there. My mood changes frequently too. I never had these problems with other birth controls."

For Birth Control "I'm not one to typically give reviews, but after my experience on Zarah, I decided I'd like to. The only nice thing about Zarah was yes, it may have helped prevent pregnancy. Yes, it may have made my breasts grow, BUT some of the negatives outweigh the positives. While on Zarah, I had uncontrollable mood swings and depression. I reached a point where I was the lowest of low. That's when I realized that the Zarah pill is what made me go 'psycho'. Just personally, I'd never recommend it to anyone."

For Birth Control "I began Zarah when I kept having spotting while taking Zovia. This pill might as well be called demonic possession. It was a living nightmare. My boobs got bigger but could barely be touched because they were so swollen and painful. The week I was on my period, they stopped hurting, and that was really the only time I was happy in my life. On. My. Period. But besides the breast tenderness, I felt nauseous, tired, I would randomly vomit after meals, and I had no control over my bladder. I once had to pee outside of a gas station because I couldn't wait to walk inside and get the restroom key. I was the most moody, irritable, grumpy person I have ever been in my life. I almost dropped my sorority, ruined my relationship with my boyfriend. I once got angry because my boyfriend was trying to give me a back massage and I 'didn't understand why he had to be touching me all the time.' I also couldn't have sex for longer than 5 minutes because I would get dry. Low libido, low tolerance for any person in my life. Even the people I liked started becoming the people I hated. At a Buffalo Wild Wings, I practically threw a fit at the waiter because 'the mild wings were too spicy.' He timidly came back to let me try a new sauce before they made a new batch. I ended up not eating the wings, I was so pissed off. I haven't been to a Buffalo Wild Wings since. Today is my first day on a new pill, and I'm hoping this time it will be a different experience."

For Birth Control "I was put on Zarah because I needed a low-dosage pill, after being on Loestrin that made me sick. I have been taking it for 2 years, now, all of a sudden, I'm having breakthrough bleeding out of nowhere, like I just started the pill."

For Birth Control "The pharmacy made an error last month, accidentally giving me Zarah vs. my regular Vestura. I don't know what it is about this pill, but my body went haywire -- mood swings, swollen tender breasts, a few lbs. weight gain (even though I am on a strict 1500 diet that didn't change), fatigue, sensory changes (smell/taste). My partner and I were both convinced I was pregnant until my period finally came! On the plus side -- my skin looks amazing and no spotting like I get on Vestura... but these side effects are too much!"

For Birth Control "I usually never write reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience for future users. I was on Ocella for a couple of years before my pharmacy switched me over to Zarah. Ocella was great, I had zero side effects from it, and it even cleared up my skin, so that was a plus. But when I switched to Zarah, the cons outweighed the pros. First off, my acne returned worse than it was before. I also had constant anxiety and moodiness. But the worst side effect seemed to be low sex drive and vaginal dryness. My sex life disappeared for nearly three months, and even if I wanted to have sex, there was zero lubrication to do so. The only thing this birth control did right was preventing me from getting pregnant, and that was basically only because I had no sex drive while on it. Once I got off of it, all my side effects regarding acne, anxiety, moodiness, sex drive, and dryness went away. If you can avoid taking this birth control, you should."

For Birth Control "I switched to Zarah last year around April/May because my periods had become irregular. I didn't notice any changes in the first few months (I had taken Microgestin Fe 1/20 for about 3 years prior). But, two months ago, I went off Zarah due to terrible depression and anxiety. I've never had many PMS symptoms, but for about the last 5 months of taking Zarah, I noticed that my depression and anxiety got worse and worse every month when I was PMSing. It was getting so bad that I switched my pill to Microgestin Fe 1.5/30, but I just completely went off the pill because my anxiety and depression have never been worse, and I truly believe it was Zarah that messed it up."

For Birth Control "I have taken Zarah for almost a year now, and I had to share my experience with others. This pill is extremely effective for me as a birth control and as an acne pill. My boobs have gotten a little bigger than they were, but that is depending on your body. It works differently for each person, and for me, it has been an amazing experience."

For Birth Control "Was on this pill for 8 years, slowly began to notice my weight increasing. My diet was nearly perfect, and I was working out 5 times a week, not seeing any results. I didn’t know what the issue was, so I decided to stop taking the pill. Within weeks of stopping this pill, my weight decreased by 10 lbs, and I was way less emotional. Now trying to find an effective method of birth control without the terrible side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Zarah for 7 months. It's the only birth control I've ever taken (I'm 17). Last fall, I broke out in some of the worst acne I've ever experienced. I had deep-rooted cystic acne all over my chin and jaw (area known for hormonal breakouts). I started taking it at the end of February, and by mid-April, my skin was clear, flawless for the first time in my life. That aside, the week before my period (peach pills), I become moody and emotional and cry extremely easily, which has never happened before and is very annoying. My cramps are more intense, and my period is heavier and lasts longer (went from ~4 days to ~7 days). I haven't noticed a weight difference, but my boobs have grown about a cup size. It's a mixed bag for me."

For Birth Control "I'm 19 and have been on Zarah for 2 years due to endometriosis. I don't notice my periods being much lighter while on it, but that's probably due to my condition. I have had zero weight gain on this medication, and my skin is always clear. It made me a little nauseous in the beginning, but nothing like what other BC pills did to me. This is by far my favorite!"

For Birth Control "I never take time out of my day to write reviews on products, however, I felt it was necessary for this. Overall, I am extremely unhappy with Zarah. I am not sexually active, therefore, I took it more for my acne. Before Zarah, I was on Ocella, which I loved but had to switch due to location purposes. Ocella cleared my face up and did not give me any mood swings. However, once I started Zarah, I broke out so bad on my chin and forehead. It's been about three weeks since I stopped, and I am still suffering from acne. If you are taking this pill merely just for acne, do not do it. I also got awful mood swings. I do not advise."

For Birth Control "I have had no problems with this BC. It seems like every brand affects people differently. I switched from Loestrin after I started losing hair. Zarah solved the hair loss. Zarah has cleared up my acne, which is a feat by itself. I do have horrible cramps and bloating. My biggest complaint is my periods last FULL 7 days. That's utter misery to me, especially when they were barely 2 days long on Loestrin."

For Birth Control "I use Zarah for my acne because I have bad acne. I started 2 months ago and it cleared my acne up. It's just that now I have a few breakouts now and then and some scars from before. I think this product is really helpful for acne. It works on some people like me, and people are not the same, so it might or might not work for you."

For Birth Control "Love this birth control. I was on Ocella before and had to switch due to the pharmacy not carrying Ocella. My skin is clear, with no crazy mood swings and no weight gain. My period is still 5 days, the first two days are horrible. The cramping is the same, but I don't get PMS. This birth control is great if you are battling acne and PMS. It's totally effective. I have only been on it for 4 months, and I love it."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control! I previously had the Implanon BC in my arm, and it caused really bad acne, and I always had really bad cramps even though I didn't have a period. I've been on Zarah for about 3 months now, and the only complaint is that I get weird cramps occasionally. Other than that, my skin is completely clear (and I've struggled with acne for a few years now), my sex drive has actually increased, and I haven't gained any weight. I've always been moody around my period, so I don't know if it's affected that much because it's always different. Overall, I definitely recommend!!"

For Birth Control "I was never on any birth control before I started Zarah. I waited until I was 23 to lose my virginity and had long since been thinking of getting on something. My boyfriend and I aren't the biggest fans of condoms. I had irregular periods, sometimes they showed up late or every 3 weeks instead of 4, the periods lasting no less than 5 days and going up to 8 days. When I started Zarah, I was a little extra hormonal for good reason but was okay and all good by the 2nd month. My periods from then on were every 4 weeks, and I couldn't have asked for more. At the moment, I recently stopped taking the pill and got on a longer form of birth control. I used the pill for nearly 3 years with little to no problems, just never forget a pill."

For Birth Control "I just started my 2nd month of Zarah. I switched to this one because my previous BC was causing spotting. This is by far the worst birth control I've ever taken. I've been having severe mood swings and crying spells, which never happened before. I cannot take it anymore."

For Birth Control "Worst experience of an entire 4 weeks! This was the first time I took an oral contraceptive, and I regret it. I've had terrible mood swings. One minute I'm fine, then the next I'm arguing and angry with everyone and everything. I've also gained weight. Sex life hasn't been disrupted, however, being deeply depressed ruins it anyways. I'm usually happy and alert, however, on Zarah, I've been tired and sleepy. Can't wait to finally stop this and try another brand."

For Birth Control "Was on this for 6 months. Didn't help with my acne, but no weight gain. Mood swings were intermittent and manageable. Didn't affect my sex drive. Only complaint was that it cost me $55/month (and had to buy 3 months at a time!). Switched to Safyral because it was cheaper - I've been sick with side effects since I switched! Miss Zarah."

For Birth Control "I took this particular kind of birth control because it is supposed to be similar to Yasmin and my health providers covered it at no cost. I suffer from mild acne, and Zarah made it worse. The only time my skin would clear was during the off week I wasn't taking it. I also think Zarah may be the cause of gaining around 10 pounds. I tried Zarah for about 4 months and saw no improvements."

For Acne "I've been on this form of birth control for a couple of years now. It didn't completely clear up my acne but definitely helped - I haven't gotten another cystic acne spot since I started. The first week I started the pills, I got depressive thoughts and mood swings, but by the second week they were over, and I haven't had any further issues."

For Birth Control "No history of any acne during my teens. Started BCP when I was 17, now at 26 I went off (Ortho Tri-Cyclen) to try the Mirena IUD. I went from having not one pimple a year to about 5-6 large cysts a week. I had the IUD in for about 5 months and started breaking out almost immediately after I got it. I got the IUD out about three weeks ago and started taking Zarah (generic for Yasmin). My insurance will not cover Yasmin, and I can't pay for it out of pocket. I'm finishing my first pack this week, I've seen no improvement. Will continue to take it until I get used to it, and I'll report back to you ladies. I hear month 3 is the charm. Wish me luck. I hate makeup and can't wait to go back to my clear skin again. This sucks!"

For Birth Control "I usually never give reviews on any products, but this is something women need to know of before even going on this pill! I have been on a lot of different birth controls in the past, I have never in my life experienced such a horrid birth control in all my life. The pharmacy ended up giving me Zarrah 21 instead last time I filled my prescription, and for the first month, I thought 100% I was pregnant! I was getting 'morning sickness' and gained probably about 5-10 pounds just in the first month, and I am completely exhausted and lethargic almost 24/7 now. Honestly, I can deal with the sickness and the little weight gain, but the acne! I have never had acne in my life, but this is unreal... it's painful and horrible all over my face! Don't go on this pill!!"

For Birth Control "I am rating Zarah a 5/10 because I did like some aspects of this med. I did not have any unnecessary bleeding during the month, which was great, my acne cleared up significantly, and my periods were very regular and not that heavy. I did gain some weight on this med, but nothing too serious, and I did have a headache when I first started this medication and on my periods. BUT I have recently stopped this med. I was EXTREMELY anxious during the time I was on this medication. I cried at least 4-5 times a week and would usually have at least one breakdown a day. Crying, chest pain, trouble breathing, couldn't focus. Just writing this so those feeling this way know they are not alone. I am feeling much better and hope I continue to get better."
