For Acne "I am now entering month 2 of Yaz, and I don’t know if it’s how much more consistent I’m taking it or what, but I’m having awful symptoms. My acne isn’t really clearing up, I’m nauseous in the morning and evening. I have headaches in the morning and evening, and I have had a few night sweats. I also feel like my heart is going to jump right out of my body before I go to sleep. I don’t know if I should stick it out for two months or go off cold turkey."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for almost a year. I gained 25 pounds and am heavier than I've ever been in my life! I've never, ever had a problem with weight gain before. After being on it for a couple of months, I started getting weekly headaches. Really bad ones. I decided to go off Yaz to see if the headaches would go away and I'd stop gaining weight. Sure enough, after about 2 weeks, the headaches stopped completely. I haven't gained any more weight either, and I've been off Yaz for about a year now. Unfortunately, I'm having problems losing all the weight I gained!"

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I was on Yaz for almost 3 years. At first, it REALLY helped with the symptoms of my PCOS. I had gained so much weight before starting the pill, and my ache was horrible. When I got on the pill, acne went away, my weight started to slowly decrease. Now, however, I've been on it for 2 years, and all I can say is that it made me feel worse. My weight still has not dropped off (after diets and exercise). I got headaches, and I'm always so tender now. I've developed GERD, which I never had a problem with before I started the Yaz. I recently JUST stopped taking it, and now that I'm NOT on it, I feel more in control over my thoughts, and I started noticing roller coaster patterns in my moods from when I was on the Yaz. However, I'm summing up."

For Birth Control "I have taken this pill for about a year after switching from Lo Loestrin Fe. At first, it helped regulate my period, but it gave me headaches and nausea. After a couple of months, my depression got so bad I could not function, I would have extreme sadness all day. My mood swings were terrible. My breasts also increased a cup size, and I gained about 10 lbs. Increased appetite, and sexual drive was moderate. The good benefits from this pill were that it did prevent pregnancy, my skin was clear, and hirsutism was kept at its minimum. My period would come like clockwork at the end of my active pills and only lasted about 5 days. Did it minimize my periods? Not a noticeable difference."

For Acne "I have been on birth control since I was 12, I know, young! But I had severe acne and was too young to be on Accutane. I was put on Accutane then when I was 14, and my skin cleared up for about a year and got really bad again. So I was on a birth control that worked okay, and when I was 15, a new doctor told me that the BC pill I was on was not meant to treat acne (but it actually was), and so they took me off. Anyway, last year, I was put on Yaz, and I have had the worst time with it. I break out so badly, and I have really bad depression. But the worst things about it are that I get so bloated, it’s so painful to stand or sit. And I get so nauseous and have the worst headaches right before bed. I swear I have only had 2 headaches in my life before I was on Yaz, and now I have them EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I want to be off it so badly, but I have to wait 2 more weeks until I meet with a different doctor, hoping to be put on a different pill. I would not recommend this to anybody at all."

"I'm on month 3-4, so my 4th pack of Yaz. My skin hasn't had any improvement, I find I have new breakouts on my chin and on my cheeks. I noticed my skin cleared during month 2, and then on month 3-4 it got worse. However, I have had no bad symptoms, like headaches or depression, and no weight gain. My periods for the first and third months lasted a ridiculously long time (10-14 days), but I will say they're definitely a lot less painful. I am nearly finished with my 4th pack, so it'll be 4 months on Yaz. I'll update you after I finish the 6-month course (after my next two packs) and hope the results are pleasing."

For Birth Control "I have horrible headaches every day. Extreme moodiness, and sometimes it doesn’t give me my period. It makes me cramp horribly and stay in pain every day. I’m giving it a 3/10 because it did clear my face up a lot. This birth control constantly has me stressed out."

For Birth Control "I was on the Depo shot for about 3 years and went off it (only because it is recommended to take breaks from it) and went on Yaz. I am aware that each birth control affects everyone differently, I had a horrible experience. Breakthrough bleeding, severe mood swings, headaches, and unpredictable periods. I got off it after 3 months and am about to try Sprintec...here's hoping this works out better!"

For Birth Control "YAZ is wonderful! I was on it a year ago but lost my insurance, so I stopped using it, but I'm back on it now. I went to a new doctor, and she first gave me a different pill, which made me moody and have little to no sex drive, which for a 22-year-old is a bit ridiculous, but YAZ once again made everything better. My breasts grew a bit, my appetite is back to normal rather than eating all the time, and my sex drive is very much up to par. I've always gotten headaches before I start my period, so that was nothing new. My one negative is the cramping when I forget to take it, but even that isn't bad."

"I was advised to take birth control for 3 months before TTC (trying to conceive). I got pregnant at 38 last year when I stopped Diane 35. Now I'm TTC again and have PCOS. My OB prescribed me Yaz, telling me it doesn't retain water. Well, I've lost weight on Yaz, but I'm having headaches. With Diane 35, I had smooth skin, but I gained around 12 kg. My moods are affected with Yaz."

For Acne "I was prescribed Yaz by my OB-Gyne because I'm having PCOS again. I will be under treatment for 6 months and need to lose weight. She advised me to use Yaz for weight control, and I think it's working well for me, though I'm still on my 4th day in my first month. I don't crave much, and I'm not getting any side effects like headache, bloatedness, or nausea with this pill. I have hormonal imbalance as well after I gave birth to my firstborn, and it caused me so many pimples. Hopefully, this will work in getting rid of it. I will give it 5 for now and see how it will work. In case it won't do much, then I'll switch back to Gynera, which was first prescribed to me 5 years ago, and I was able to use for 3 months, and it did great. For now, I'll give this one a chance."

For Acne "Yaz was my first birth control pill, and it was really good for me at the start. I hate to be one of those downer comments on here. I remember googling reviews for what felt like every possible birth control option. At the start, it was very good to me, no bloating (which I thought was amazing because I get bloated quite easily!), my skin was less oily, but my hormonal acne on my chin didn't clear up, it wasn't as bad I guess. Sometimes it was pretty clear, other times it wasn't. I will say I never got headaches or anything like that at the start. But for the first month, I felt so dead and hated life and everyone. I didn't want to do anything, and I get really sad at random times, but it's like for 10 seconds, lol. At the end of my second cycle, I messed up and ended up missing a pill for a few hours (which I have done before once, and it didn't affect me), but this time it did, and I have been bleeding for up to 9 days, still bleeding."

For Birth Control "Yaz did not work for me, it is an excellent birth control, but my sex drive went down, and it caused me terrible headaches, gained weight, and felt tired all the time."

For Birth Control "I took Yaz for 4 years and loved it up until about 6 months ago. Recently, my breasts have been swollen and tender, I get headaches during my period and feel anxious."

For Birth Control "I switched to this from Junel Fe because I was hoping to help my acne and weight gain (gained 10 pounds on Junel). I only took the pill for five days but had to leave work early two days and went straight to bed by 6 pm every night due to a severe headache and overall feeling of lethargy and dizziness. I felt short of breath by day two and it remained until I quit taking the pill. I also had extreme anxiety. I got severe allergy-type symptoms by day two and felt feverish. I stopped taking Yaz yesterday and already feel better. No headache today, no feverish feeling, no anxiety. Still congested but no feeling short of breath anymore. I also noticed that I gained 2 pounds in the week I was on Yaz. Yikes! I have not changed my diet at all."
