For Acne "This is the worst pill ever! It broke my entire face out. It made my acne so much worse. I'm so upset with what it has done to my face. I wish I didn't go on this pill at all, seriously, don't do it. It's so awful."

For Birth Control "Went on this just for birth control. My acne has always been mild, break out near period usually. When I started the pill, I broke out for the first 2 months in places I don't normally break out (cystic too). It was pretty sad because I don't normally break out that bad. On my third pack now, though, and my skin is pretty much clear again. My period pain used to be severe, though, and now they are much better (period has always been regular and short, 3-4 days). I have increased a cup in breast size too. I haven't gained any weight or had any cravings since on the pill. However, I have had a couple of days where I would feel sad/moody for no reason and get nausea randomly, but not too bad."

For Acne "Love this! I was a little discouraged at first because the magic number of 3 months didn't work for me. However, when I hit 4 months, all of my back acne was gone, and my face had totally cleared up. I've never seen anything like it. I still get the odd zit, and for individuals who react well with Yaz, I find that acne can be caused by eating dairy products. I don't doubt if I cut milk and cheese out of my diet, as well as continued on the pill, I would have 0 acne at all."

For Birth Control "Worst mistake of my life. I was on Yaz for 3 months, my acne is worse than ever. I gained a lot of weight, my mental health has never been so bad - anxiety, depression. My self-esteem is so low it's terrifying. I would not recommend this medication to anyone - but I understand everyone is different, and some have had great experiences with Yaz. Unfortunately, I was not one of them."

For Acne "I've been taking Yaz for almost 10 months now. I wanted to go on it for a number of reasons, including acne. I started breaking out all the time in my last year of high school, and it was horrible. I never wanted to leave my house. So I tried it, and for the first couple of months, I noticed my acne getting even worse! I guess it was just my body getting used to the hormones. It took some time, but starting at about 6 months, I saw a huge difference in my acne. I almost never get a pimple now! And if I do, it's around my period, and they are much easier to make go away than before. It definitely was a lifesaver, if you have acne, I'd suggest it for sure."

For Acne "I have been taking Yaz for 2 weeks now. I get breakouts, but they go away quickly and come back. I was still willing to give it a chance. I am stopping because I have become depressed, exhausted, negative, and I overanalyze things, which means I overreact, and I'm very emotional. This is affecting my relationship and my work. I feel overwhelmed."

For Acne "I used Yaz for only three months as advised by my ob-gyn in order to cure my polycystic ovaries. I haven't noticed the occurrence of acne for three months. I can certainly recommend Yaz, however, it's still best to consult your ob-gyn about this pill."

For Acne "I’m in the middle of my fourth Yaz pack right now, and I wish I was seeing the acne-clearing effects more. Most sources say by 2-3 months you should start seeing your skin improve, and by month 6 you should really see them, so I’m not gonna quit it yet. I still wanna see if it will help my acne. The first month I had my period for a month straight, it was light, but I still had cramps and stuff, so that wasn’t fun. My boobs got bigger, biggest during the 2nd-3rd month, and then they’ve gone down slightly so far through the 4th month. Other than that, no weight gain. I have been more depressed and emotional lately, so that’s kinda a bummer, but my skin's been slightly better. Some redness has gone away, and I definitely get fewer pimples, but I still get some. Hopefully, it will be better by month 6 and on. So far it’s just not good, not bad, just eh."

For Acne "I’ve been taking Yaz for about a year, and I like it so much better than other birth control packs I’ve tried. With Yaz, the first 6 weeks were awful. The worst acne I have had in my life, so much of it was cystic or just extremely painful. From what I read, that’s normal for a lot of people, and I’m so thankful I stuck through it. My skin has never been clearer. My periods are normally extremely heavy, painful, 9 days, and I only have one or two days of moderate flow on Yaz. A major bonus. I did notice over the last five months that I have started to break out on my chin and neck, only on the placebo days of the pack, but skipping them fixed that issue. I’ve not had issues with mood or libido on Yaz, no spotting, headaches, really no other side effects. I recommend sticking through for a few months. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that said they stopped taking it after a month for that reason, so if you’re going to try it, try and commit to it."

For Acne "The worst pill ever. It made me break out so bad. My skin used to be perfect. If I knew what it was going to do to me after, I would have NEVER taken it. A whole year later and I’m still suffering with more acne than I’ve ever had before."

For Acne "I'm very confused about my experience on Yaz. Had no initial breakout, and my skin was improving up until about a month and a half ago. There were minor breakouts every now and then, though. Yet lately (after 7 and a half months), my skin has been breaking out constantly. Big pimples mostly along my chin and jawline, but a few on my lip and cheeks too. I'm going to see my GP as soon as possible to see whether this is just a random flare-up or whether Yaz is just not for me. I suppose it works differently for everyone."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been on Yaz for 2 and a half years, and it's been the best form of contraceptive medication for me. I have tried other contraceptive pills and have had all kinds of bad side effects, but once I started Yaz, I was fine. Originally, I started using it as a form of contraception, I still do, but it has also helped with my severe menstrual cramps and endometriosis. I can have my period every 3 months without a problem, and I haven't experienced any side effects, pregnancy scares, bloating, or acne on it, so overall, it's been great."

For Birth Control "This pill was absolutely awful! It was prescribed to stop my bloating, shorten my heavy periods, and make them less painful. The first month I had all of the secondary side effects listed. I was moody, irritable, exhausted no matter how much sleep I got, had debilitating cramps, was super bloated, my skin got worse, I had to pee at least once an hour if not more times, I had breast tenderness, my breasts got larger (even though I have worked out the entire time on the pill), and I had awful headaches (I never used to get headaches and I have one almost every day)! Since the sugar pills are only 4 days, my period didn’t even start until Sunday and lasted just as long as my normal period. It was awful! I am switching pills at the end of next week, and I do not recommend this to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication for about three years now. The first few months were terrible. I broke out, had severe mood swings, I'd cry for no reason. After month four, I felt completely fine. No more mood swings or acne outbreaks. My period got lighter, I stopped cramping as much. The only problem I have now is that I don't get as wet as I used to. But that's what lube is for. And hey, I'm not pregnant, so it's doing its job."

For Acne "I started taking Yaz because of my severe acne. I've had acne now for about 7 years straight. I'm now 20 years old, and I've never been able to get rid of it. My GP prescribed me Yaz, and I've heard really good stories about this particular pill brand. I took this pill for about 3 months, and my god, it made my skin break out completely. It was horrible, my face was sore to touch because of how big my pimples were, and most of them were underneath the skin, which was worse. I since then have stopped and gone to a dermatologist (skin specialist) and have been prescribed Minocycline, which is an antibiotic, and it's 100% cleared my skin completely. Note: I didn't gain weight on this Yaz."

For Birth Control "I was so scared of going on birth control because I didn't want to gain weight and also wanted to prevent pregnancy. My skin has gotten spotless clear, and my weight is the same (unless I wait for my withdrawal bleeding, then I wait 3 days after my period to go back on it), but it ranges from 98-101, and it really hasn't affected it! I love this pill. Yaz has regulated my cycles and reduced my PMDD symptoms such as bloating, acne, etc. No mood swings. The only reason why it's an 8/10 is because my skin broke out the first 2 weeks, but after that it's clear as day."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for about 6 months about 2 years ago and loved it. It made my skin great, I lost weight, controlled my crazy mood swings, and totally increased my sex drive. I was put on it because I had gotten pregnant on a different pill. The only reason I stopped was to try the NuvaRing, which was the worst idea ever. I stopped that, and for whatever reason, the doctor didn't put me back on Yaz, just a different generic of something else that made me lose libido, gain weight, get acne, everything bad. Then I decided to stop taking birth control altogether to try and get pregnant. Didn't work, still all bad mood swings and acne, but found out about polycystic ovarian syndrome. Going back on Yaz tomorrow, the only thing that keeps me from being crazy."

For Birth Control "Changed to Yaz because I heard it was good for acne. It took about a year or like 9-10 months before my skin got like 90-95% clear. It was amazing. However, when I started, I definitely got a lot more cystic acne. About a year ago, they stopped producing Yaz in my country, and I got on Yasminelle 28, which hasn't kept my skin as clear. A friend could get me Yaz from her country (technically this wouldn't be a good idea, but it was the same manufacturer, etc., so I thought it was fine...). However, my first pack of Yaz has broken me out so bad again. Small pimples all over my chin and cystic acne. I'm going back on Yasminelle and hope that this one month on Yaz hasn't screwed my skin up completely. So, if you go on it, expect at least 6 months before it works for acne. And, well, if you go off it, expect acne again, and if you then go on it, expect acne."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yaz for 3 years, and my experience has been very positive. I have very light, short periods. I have gained no weight and have no issues with acne. Yaz has been a great experience for me, personally, and I have a lot less to worry about every month because of it."

For Acne "Yaz was the worst thing to ever happen to me. I switched from Minastrin FE to Yaz because my doctor said it would be more effective for my skin... WRONG. I had moderate mild hormonal acne before Yaz, but after taking Yaz for just 1 month, my skin broke out like crazy. It was so painful and horrible I wouldn’t leave my house. My doctor told me not to panic and give it the full 3 months... I took it for 4 excruciating months, and my face got progressively worse the entire time I was on it. I stopped taking it, and my dermatologist put me on antibiotics, which finally cleared my skin. But the whole experience was so bad I will never take this pill again. HORRIBLE."

For Acne "My daughter tried Yaz because her friend had a good result. She used to have mild acne. Within a week, she broke out in huge inflammatory acne, which has spread all over her cheeks. She stopped 6 weeks in because it wasn’t getting any better, and it was severe. Now, 12 weeks later, she is still breaking out, and it hasn’t stopped. She is starting Accutane tomorrow. Do not take this product. It ruined my daughter's skin and I have been told it will likely leave scars. Her doctor said some girls are just very sensitive to the ingredients. Some aren’t. It’s a crapshoot. I wish I knew. I wish we could turn back time. I’m devastated by what’s happened to her."

For Birth Control "I am on month 5 of Yaz, and it has been pretty awful. My periods have been super irregular and unpredictable when I used to have a period every 4 weeks for 4 days like clockwork. My first period on the pill lasted 3 weeks, the next two came early and lasted 2 weeks, the next month I didn't have one, and this month I have had two. My sex drive has diminished to almost zero, and I have had crazy mood swings. I have never struggled with depression or anxiety until I started Yaz. Positives: my skin cleared up within weeks of starting Yaz, and I have had minimal breakouts. My period symptoms have lightened up, my cramps aren't as bad, and insomnia has gone away. Also, not pregnant. I am looking into switching, but I don't know what to switch to :/"
