For Birth Control "I love Yasmin! No real issues with it for the past couple of years, except a little nausea here and there, but nothing that can’t be managed! No acne, no anxiety/depression, no mood swings, no weight gain! I will be sad if the day comes that I have to switch!"

For Acne "I have been on the depo injection for 2 years, which was great because I had no periods, put on a few pounds, and my acne was only a bit worse, but I wanted to take a break as depo affects your bones. I have face and body acne as I'm quite oily, and it's probably also due to hormones, so I started Yasmin. I'm only one pack down (three weeks) and found this thread as I've just started breaking out really bad! Mostly whiteheads on my forehead, cheeks, and jaw. I will leave another review when I finish my 3-month prescription, I hope it improves. I feel very nauseous after taking it, but as a result, I'm losing weight haha."

For Birth Control "Going on Yasmin was absolutely horrible. I only lasted a week because it made me feel horribly depressed. I felt like crying all the time and just wanted to lie down and stare at the wall. It also made me nauseous all the time. Within a couple of days, I had multiple large zits, and I usually have minimal acne. It also killed my libido. After I stopped the pill, I had two separate periods within a week of each other, and it messed with my hormones so much that I cried every day for a month straight. I will never take this Yasmin ever again."

For Birth Control "I took this pill a few years ago at the age of 24 for about a year, and at the time it was great! Acne cleared up, no cramps or weight gain, no effect on sex drive, and didn't get pregnant. I stopped taking it when my relationship broke down. Fast forward to age 29, and due to an upcoming wedding, decided to take it again to try and get my skin clear... been back on it for 9 months now and struggling with it. Acne doesn't seem to have improved, sex drive gone completely, and feel nauseous constantly (except pill-free weeks... I actually look forward to my period these days as it's the only time I can actually enjoy food). I have 1 month 'til our wedding and going to change after that."

For Birth Control "Unfortunately, Yasmin just isn’t for me. I started it about a month ago, and after reading some mixed reviews, I was hopeful that I would be one of those who had no side effects. Shame to say that has not been the case. First week, I had awful headaches, nausea, and fatigue followed by extreme mood swings. By the second week, the mood swings had gone, but I became bloated, constipated, and ravenously hungry at random points during the day. I have gained weight already, and my muscles have started to ache. Throwing them in the bin tomorrow and hoping to feel better as soon as possible! With that being said, pills work differently for everyone, so I would recommend trying it first."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 2 weeks now, and it's horrendous. My skin was perfect, now my skin is really bad, and I'm having outbreaks every day. My mood swings are bad, and all of a sudden, from being the happiest person on earth, I'm becoming depressed and distant. I have an 8-month-old daughter, and this is not on. I am also feeling so nauseous all the time, and I can't stop eating. I'm a professional dancer, and I've gained weight despite dancing 12 hours a day. This pill is absolute rubbish."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin for 2 days, and I have already experienced very noticeable weight loss, headaches, and nausea. Yasmin was recommended to me by my doctor to help ease my pains that I had. Every day, every 2 hours, I had horrible cramps that would prevent me from any physical activity. I will continue this packet to be able to determine the outcome of time..."

For Birth Control "I am 18 years old and started Yasmin when I was 17. I had side effects such as nausea, abdominal pain, irregular bleeding only the first month of the pill. I’ve been on it for about 10 months now, and I feel fine. My periods are much lighter, but unfortunately, my PMS symptoms are the same as before, so I can’t say that this pill has stopped them. Overall, I am happy with it and haven’t had any abnormal problems."

For Birth Control "Since taking Yasmin, my period symptoms have gotten worse. I used to never get any symptoms. Now, the first day of my period, I get physically ill (severe migraines, nausea, and sometimes vomiting). My skin has been insanely clear while on Yasmin, I used to get hormonal breakouts. But I don't think it's worth the excruciating day every month that makes me call off of work."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Yasmin because I had an irregular menstrual period. Ever since I started using the drug, my period has been regular with no cramps, however, my acne got worse with time. I'm on my third packet, and my face breaks out every other day with cystic acne, which I'm still yet to figure out. During my first month, I had mood swings, was so emotional, feeling nausea a lot with a severe headache, but now I'm better. I just have to stick to the drug since it helps to regulate my period."

For Birth Control "So I started Yasmin mid-February 2018, and about three weeks in. Initially, I had nausea and breast tenderness, but thought that's okay. Anyway, days go by, and the symptoms get worse. I've had insomnia, a dull headache daily, pelvic pain, and bad fatigue. I literally feel tired as soon as I wake up and can't be asked to move all day. This is definitely all down to the birth control pill, as I've done tests for other things. I told my doctor, who reported I finish the pack and get the IUD instead. However, I won't be getting the IUD, as I don't want any more contraception after all I've been through on them. I was on the mini pill, and I'd say they're better than the combined. Just be careful of acne flares with the mini pill. Good luck, all."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I began Yasmin because my last birth control was no longer helping with my ovarian cysts (Junel). I personally enjoyed Junel until I started getting cysts again. I have been on Yasmin for 6 months and since I have begun, I have had two cycles a month that last at least 7 days. I normally have very regular cycles, so this has been very frustrating. Recently my latest cycle has lasted 14 days, and I am changing back to Junel. On another note, Yasmin was great for acne, nausea, and my cysts."

For Birth Control "This birth control has been the only one to help lighten and shorten my periods. I've been on a few different brands, as well as tried the IUD, and this has been the best by far! While I did have some queasiness and sore breasts the first month, those side effects went away by month 2."

For Acne "I started Yasmin a year ago after age 30. My skin went crazy, and I erupted with cystic acne all over my chin and jawline. I had always had spotty skin through my twenties, but this was next level. My forehead would be super greasy by 9 in the morning too. I started on Yasmin, and it took about 3 months to kick in, but once it did, it was amazing. The pimples stopped, and I could go most of the day without having to powder my makeup. One year on and I am a few months into Australian humid summer while having to wear face masks and have not had a single pimple. I have had no nasty side effects other than nausea the first 2 weeks of starting on it. Periods are so light as well."

For Birth Control "So I just finished my first pack and so far I am loving it. For the first few days, I felt a bit nauseous, but that quickly disappeared. I've also noticed clearer skin, and all my friends have commented on that, proof if it does show. Just a little worried that I actually see red spots under my skin, much like bruising at points, but those disappear after as well, even though they were visible on and off throughout the pack."

For Birth Control "I went on this pill the first time at about 17 years old. I had lighter, less painful periods, clear skin, and all was good. When my long-term relationship ended, I went off it. When I was 24, I went back on it again because I wanted clear skin for my upcoming wedding (when I am off the pill I suffer from hormonal acne on my chin). I was on it again for about 6 months, clear skin, no issues. Went off it again when my script ran out, and now, age 27 and 3 kids later, I have just started back on it again as I’m so sick of my monthly breakouts. I’m on day 5 and have been feeling really nauseous since last night. I hope it passes soon or I won’t be able to stay on this pill because at the moment it’s like having morning sickness, it’s terrible! Will see how I go. Main con is it’s not a funded pill, so it is expensive."

"I take this for PCOS: Pros: - No weight gain - No swollen tender breasts - No vaginal dryness Cons: - Constant crying and tearing, general feeling of sadness - Current depression state severely worsened - Extremely painful cramps, enough to yell out loud - Irrational irritability - Daily nausea - Daily headaches ranging from mild to migraine intensity - Loss of personal motivation. I primarily take this medication at night to omit some of the crazy. After 4 months of this medication, I can say I hate it with a passion. I went back to my doctor to get switched to another medication because I could not stand one more month of Yasmin. Maybe it'll work for you, but unfortunately, Yasmin did not agree with me one bit."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I’d taken Yasmin previously about 7 or so years ago for birth control and had no problems with it. I had started taking it again after having 2 children to help manage my PMDD, and I felt nauseous all day and had very little energy or motivation to do anything. I had to stop taking it after about a week because I just felt so awful all the time."

"I started these pills like a few days ago. I was aware it can cause extreme mood swings and depression, but never ever thought it could do that within 2 to 3 pills. Right after I started, I was nauseous, obviously, I had bloating, obviously, and I had such terrible mood swings. Literally, I cried 5 to 6 times within the second day of my pill. I was happy, and I was doing good with my mental health, and this thing messed it up. I decided to stop continuing to take them anymore. I don't think I can survive those 20 days on the pills, so I put myself first and decided not to take it ever again."

For Menstrual Disorders "I started taking this pill because of extremely heavy, painful, and irregular periods. The first six months were great, I had very light bleeding, no cramps, and my periods were very regular. Around my sixth month, I got terrible acne, I only ever had a pimple here and there, and I got cystic acne around my chin and cheeks. Now forward to the ninth month, I've been feeling very depressed, cry all the time, and just feel like a mess. I also suffer from severe nausea. I'm ending this packet, and then I'm switching to a much lighter pill, which will hopefully help me."

For Birth Control "I started to take Yasmin ten days ago today. At first, I felt good. I even thought, “This could be what has been wrong with me!” as I do have PMDD. A couple of days go by, and everything changed. I have increased anxiety (paranoia) and depression. I am also suffering from delusions. (I think!) I have to say that it made me feel extremely low, and I have had a lot of suicidal thoughts. These include “the world would be better off without me, what is the point, no one likes me and wants me around, I can’t go on,” etc. I called my mum and told her. I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I also experience nausea daily. I have lost most of my appetite. At ten days in, I am quitting this medication, which is now completely screwing up my menstrual cycle. I do not recommend this to anyone at all."

For Acne "Terrible, terrible pill! I started back on Yasmin about 2 weeks ago now, and I have felt nauseous and fatigued since. And even worse, I am eating a lot more than usual. I wouldn't recommend!"

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on this pill for almost two months now, and I love it! At first, I was pretty emotional over food, mood swings, headaches, and nausea. But on my second set of pills, I’ve been feeling much better. Some side effects I get are occasional headaches. I get hungry more frequently (which was a good thing). I have bad eating habits, and this made me want food more, and I've had no weight gain on this pill. I think my boobs are growing, which is not a bad thing. I was pretty scared to go on the pill, knowing people get scary side effects, but all reactions are different for everyone. Don’t scare yourself with the bad reviews. You know your body best. I love this pill, and I hope it works great for you :)"
