For Birth Control "I have been using this pill for 1 week now, this is my first birth control pill I have used. I am 15 and mainly wanted it for my acne, and I had really, really bad cramps and heavy periods. My OBGYN told me to start it on the day I started my period, so I did that. The first day my head felt cloudy, and I felt as if I was high. When I woke up the next morning, I had to run to the bathroom and threw up, mainly just dry heaves. I normally bloat when I'm on my period, but I seem bigger than usual, and my breasts are extremely tender. But other people said it decreased their sex drive, but I feel like it has done the complete opposite for me. My periods normally last for 8 days, and I'm on my 4th right now with little to no bleeding."

For Birth Control "This pill drove me nuts. After starting the first pack, within a few days, I started to feel run down, but I persevered, allowing my body to adjust to it. I finished the first pack, took the break, and then started the second pack. Hell. I was so nauseous, I really thought I was pregnant. My boobs were sore, I was tired... I was starting to get really scared. Additionally, I am a happy, upbeat person, but on Yasmin, I felt sad, like I have never felt before. I could cry at the drop of a hat, I just felt like I was worthless (having never felt that before), and I could see no hope. It was so weird. My boyfriend, who I love dearly, became the most annoying person in the world. I came off it mid-pack, and within days, I was back to myself."

For Birth Control "I started Yasmin three months ago after having the Implanon (contraceptive implant) for about 5 years. I switched over because I had started to experience irregular bleeding, and just to mention, because a lot of women worry about weight, on that contraception I was both overweight and underweight at different times just due to my eating and lifestyle (I don't think contraception made a difference). So far my experience of Yasmin has been good, I never had acne, but I swear overnight and since starting it, I have not had one more pimple, and my skin has just felt a lot nicer (not too dry, not too oily). I had the initial nausea for about 2 or 3 days and the occasional breast tenderness, but hey, that's to be expected when you are changing your hormones!"

For Birth Control "I really like Yasmin. I have been using it for nine months, and it has been great. It has been great for cramps, and I have only experienced slight weight gain (due to increased cravings). The only side effect I had was nausea. I experienced nausea when I took the pill and did not have food in my stomach. If I ate before taking it, it was great! Overall, I have had a great experience with Yasmin."

For Birth Control "I used Yasmin for over 5 years without any issues. It had no impact on my weight and cleared my skin beautifully; however, perhaps it gave it a tendency to be a little too dry. When I stopped the pill, acne returned very quickly. It worked without any issues as birth control. In the last months, however, I developed nausea from the pills. For some reason, simply the thought of taking them gave me nausea, and at some point when I had to take two at the same time, I threw up bile the next morning. I continued to take the pills for a little while, but the nausea was clearly associated with them, not any other factor, so eventually I had to switch to a different brand and composition. I would still recommend them; they were OK for a long time."

For Acne "I have been taking Yasmin for the past month due to my dermatologist's recommendation for my mild to severe acne condition. I had never taken any form of birth control before, so I had been warned about nausea, headaches, etc. However, to this day, I have yet to feel any of those symptoms. I began on the Sunday method, and so far, I haven't forgotten a day. However, since the first week, my acne condition has totally accelerated for the worst. Where I used to be clear, I now break out daily. I continue to wash and treat with my doctor's recommendation daily or twice daily, and yet no results. It's aggravating, but I am hopeful that this will only be a phase and soon everything will improve."

For Birth Control "Yasmin is my third contraception pill, and I was on the combined, then the mini, and now back to the combined. It has made my periods regular; however, I will have days when I’m nauseous, just all over tired, and have a bad belly ache and go to the toilet. It’s made me gain weight. The pros are that it’s stopped pregnancy, and I’m protected using this contraception, so far, so good with the pregnancy thing. But as this is my third pill, the pain of periods on all of the pills didn’t help one bit, and none seem to agree with me as well as Yasmin has, but I might have to change it due to the side effects it’s giving me. So overall, it isn’t that good."

For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control to prevent ovarian cysts, as my last one wasn't effective, resulting in my ovary twisting. In the beginning, I felt the same but suddenly began having extreme nausea. I've been nauseous for about 4 days, and it just has not let up. The pill also has been affecting my appetite immensely, resulting in weight loss, which I'm not complaining about. So far, I've had no issues with ovarian cysts, but it is early."

For Birth Control "I was put on Yasmin for 6 months to regulate my cycle and reduce acne flare-ups, and it was the worst 6 months of my life. I gained 20 lbs that did NOT come off easily after stopping the pill, experienced horrible mood swings, had HEAVIER periods, acne breakouts, breakthrough bleeding, and I was nauseous all the time. This pill seems to agree with most people, but it definitely did not agree with me. I went on Femcon a year after stopping Yasmin and experienced virtually no side effects."

For Acne "I am 25 years old and I have been taking Yasmin for about 5 years now. I found it very good, no menstrual pain, 5 days period. It also helped in somewhat of a way with my acne. I gained a few pounds, as some people say, in the right places, but lately I find it's making me cranky and nauseous. Because of that, I am thinking of trying a new pill."

For Acne "I have suffered from acne since the age of 13 years old (I am now 32), and nothing helped it. I have been on every antibiotic under the sun and even on Accutane (which did work for a while, but the side effects were horrible, and it came back after about a year). The worst part of my acne was huge, painful cysts on my chin. I didn't want to take the contraceptive pill as I had been on it in my late teens, and it didn't help my spots and really affected my mood. But about a year ago, I felt so helpless with my skin that I started taking Yasmin, and honestly, I cannot believe how amazing it has been for my skin. The only side effects I've had were headaches and feeling a little nauseous the first month and maybe a reduction in my sex drive. Obviously, this isn't ideal, but my acne was bringing me down so much that I am okay with this. I think everyone is different, so you just have to give things a try, but for me, it's been amazing. My only concern is having to ever stop taking it and my spots coming back!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have started taking Yasmin after reading reviews about how good it is for acne and PMS, and I had very frequent periods that I needed to regulate. But soon after taking the 1st tablet, I had severe nausea that lasted all day. Three days down the line, I became very low in mood, I was very tearful, the slightest things would irritate me. I had never felt like this in ages. I was taking Accutane at the same time, so I attributed the low mood to Accutane. Since I couldn't tolerate the severe nausea, I stopped taking Yasmin and strangely my mood suddenly changed. I was no longer depressed or tearful, and I was still on Accutane. I think people react differently to medications, but I am sure Yasmin wasn't the right OCP for me."

For Birth Control "Probably one of the worst pills I have taken so far. I am starting my second pack, and I am very well done with it. My sex drive has completely gone down. I have had headaches, nausea, and muscle pain. I do not recommend this pill at all to anyone!!"

For Birth Control "I was taking LoLo, and I had almost no side effects, but since I needed more birth control and I am in a different country, I took Yasmin because they didn’t have LoLo here. It’s literally my 3rd pill on Yasmin, and these side effects are horrible! I feel so tired, I feel sick, nauseous, like I can't eat. Then the next day, super tired. I also felt my heart racing and a lot of anxiety. And lastly, my vision started getting worse. I have an astigmatism, but I feel like birth control makes it worse and also as if I am not fully able to be in the present. Just horrible. The dose on this is way too high for me. And I don’t like how there is no option for placebo pills. Even the pamphlet is not very clear on how to take the pill correctly."

For Birth Control "Took Yasmin for 6 months now and had some nausea in the beginning, but I think my body is getting used to the pill. Overall, my mood has gotten better, I used to experience mood swings. I'm switching to Microgynon 30 and see how it works for me now."

For Birth Control "I have tried Yasmin twice, and this time it made me so nauseous that I couldn't go to college, so I stopped. Then I decided to suck it up and carry on, and I'm so glad I did because the feeling of sickness only lasted about 5 days, and now I am fine. I feel that my appetite is suppressed, so I don't eat as much. My boobs feel a bit tender, and I have gone up a cup size. I am yet to see results on my skin, it's still quite bad, but I assume it takes time to clear up. Also, my last comment is that I have recently had difficulty breathing, and my chest was really tight. The doctor said it is allergy-related, but I read online it can also be a reaction to Yasmin. My doctor said it was unlikely, though."

For Birth Control "This is my second pack. I have never felt worse. Microgynon never made me feel so sick. I'm nauseous for a week and a half, every day! The first pack did not make me sick. My sex drive is nonexistent now. I'm so moody. On the upside, I've lost weight."

For Acne "I had horrible side effects of these pills: nausea, feeling depressed, low sex drive, vaginal dryness, feeling bloated, cravings, long period (3 weeks). I did not feel like myself at all. I was very down. My mind felt foggy. But the worst of all was my skin. Oh my goodness. It got so many times worse! I got huge red cystic bumps. They were so bad I did not want to go to work, and people would comment on my skin. I could not continue and decided to quit just after two months! I kid you not - my skin got better as soon as I stopped taking these! I have barely had a pimple since. I'm so sad that I started with Yasmin as I have horrible scars now. The effect, though, is very individual and I hope you have a much better experience than me!"

For Birth Control "This pill ruined my life a few years ago, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it. It was a nightmare from the beginning. I threw up constantly (while still gaining a ridiculous amount of weight very quickly). I went from having clear, clean skin to it looking like I had a disease. It took over a year after stopping the pill for my face to clear up. I became paranoid and depressed while having violent and unpredictable mood swings. I cried every single day. I eventually had to drop out of school because I couldn't control my moods. Horrible pill pushed by a horrible doctor."

For Birth Control "I was on this for PCOS and to regulate periods. Really bad experience on Yasmin, had really bad side effects such as extreme mood swings/changes, depression (generally just not feeling like my usual self at all), breast tenderness and swelling, nausea, abnormal appetite (major cravings that are not usual for me), and weight gain. The one week I stopped taking Yasmin, I lost weight, my appetite decreased a lot, my mood was back to normal, I didn’t cry all the time or feel depressed. I would not recommend Yasmin, whilst it has helped my skin, it has caused more harm than good overall!"

For Birth Control "I am new to birth control and was worried about taking a hormonal pill because I'd heard that people can have mood swings or feel depression or gain weight. Luckily, NOTHING like that has happened to me during my first month. If anything, it actually helped me with my mood swings. I haven't gained any weight, and I've noticed improvements in my acne, although it's not completely gone yet. I'm hopeful that within the next few months it will clear up further. The only bad thing that did happen to me was that I got EXTREMELY nauseated and sick on the third day of taking the pill. But I powered through and haven't felt any side effects since. I also was spotting for 2.5 weeks, but no pain."

"This tablet made me feel sick every single day besides the days I used the inactive pills. I wasn't able to eat properly, only have tiny portions of food at a time because I would be too nauseous from this. Nausea never went away, and the doctor refused to change this medication. It works for a lot of people, but it is the worst thing I have ever taken in my life."

"I’ve just started taking this about 8 days ago. On my 2nd-3rd day, I had bad nausea in the middle of the night. And then the symptoms went off. But I do notice that I’ve been feeling very depressed for the past week. On my 8th day, I noticed bloating on my tummy. After reading all the reviews, where the majority claimed that it causes depression/mood swings, I think I’m gonna stop it before the other symptoms, like losing hair/loss of sex drive, start appearing as well. Glad I read the comments by everyone."

For Birth Control "First pill I tried. It didn't really give me noticeable side effects, but not many benefits besides no pregnancy. It didn't decrease cramps by much. I still got wicked headaches that would make me nauseous, and it decreased my sex drive. Overall, when I stopped taking it, I felt like I had come out of a fog, as if the pill had been dulling senses beyond just my sex drive. Happier to be on Sprintec now."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on this pill for almost two months now, and I love it! At first, I was pretty emotional over food, mood swings, headaches, and nausea. But on my second set of pills, I’ve been feeling much better. Some side effects I get are occasional headaches. I get hungry more frequently (which was a good thing). I have bad eating habits, and this made me want food more, and I've had no weight gain on this pill. I think my boobs are growing, which is not a bad thing. I was pretty scared to go on the pill, knowing people get scary side effects, but all reactions are different for everyone. Don’t scare yourself with the bad reviews. You know your body best. I love this pill, and I hope it works great for you :)"
