For Acne "I have suffered from acne since the age of 13 years old (I am now 32), and nothing helped it. I have been on every antibiotic under the sun and even on Accutane (which did work for a while, but the side effects were horrible, and it came back after about a year). The worst part of my acne was huge, painful cysts on my chin. I didn't want to take the contraceptive pill as I had been on it in my late teens, and it didn't help my spots and really affected my mood. But about a year ago, I felt so helpless with my skin that I started taking Yasmin, and honestly, I cannot believe how amazing it has been for my skin. The only side effects I've had were headaches and feeling a little nauseous the first month and maybe a reduction in my sex drive. Obviously, this isn't ideal, but my acne was bringing me down so much that I am okay with this. I think everyone is different, so you just have to give things a try, but for me, it's been amazing. My only concern is having to ever stop taking it and my spots coming back!"

For Birth Control "Probably one of the worst pills I have taken so far. I am starting my second pack, and I am very well done with it. My sex drive has completely gone down. I have had headaches, nausea, and muscle pain. I do not recommend this pill at all to anyone!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin from the start of July, and I had to stop taking it at mid-pack because it was giving me headaches. I couldn't eat or sleep. It also let me bleed. Now I'm off it for five days, and I'm having spotting on and off. It's very terrible. It gives me acne that I never had before."

For Acne "So my 13-year-old daughter was prescribed this medication to help with acne. She has been on it for 3 weeks, and she has started feeling sad and crying for no reason. When her GP prescribed this, we asked about side effects and if it could be dangerous for her, but he said maybe a few headaches, sore boobs, and water retention! Reading this link has convinced me to stop my daughter from taking this medication. Sounds like it’s for her own good!"

For Acne "I've been on Yasmin for years for cystic acne because my dermatologist recommended it. It's been really good for me in general, and without it, I break out within a few days. The only issue I have is when I start to take the sugar pills, I can get horrible migraine-like headaches from muscle tension in my head, neck, and shoulders. The doctor suggested this is due to the drop in estrogen. I've found taking a magnesium forte vitamin tablet on a daily basis stops the headaches, but I need to take it all month and particularly the week leading up to the sugar pills. Prior to this, I was on Yaz, and it was hellish for me. Everybody is different and responds differently. It might work for some. Yasmin has been better for me."

For Birth Control "I used to be on Beyaz, which was great for me. Then when I moved out of the country, I had to switch to Yazmin (same company). It's my first month, and I am SO moody! I have gotten into big fights with my boyfriend over the smallest things in just the past couple of weeks that I've been using this pill. I don't feel like myself. I am constantly going into depressions (I was already depression-prone before the pill). Sure, it's getting the job done, I don't have any physical issues really (though I do have headaches, but it may not be from the pill), but overall the moodiness isn't working for me. I'm going to be switching to Yaz next month."

For Birth Control "At first, I didn't really think birth control was controlling my life. I started using birth control eight years ago after giving birth to my daughter. I started with NuvaRing. I really didn't think how I was feeling was due to the birth control at first. After five years, I removed the NuvaRing and started Yasmin. As I sit here and type this, I regret it. I am depressed more than I have ever been in my entire life. It's like I can't find any joy or happiness in anything. All I want to do is just stay in bed. I have no sex drive. I can go weeks/months without sex. I don't even think about sex, I don't get aroused, nothing! Sex drive is just gone! I have headaches, mood swings, and probably other things that are caused by this medicine. I have been watching a lot of documentaries on birth control and all of the awful things it does to our body. Since I have three children, I've decided to get a tubal ligation. I pray to feel whole again."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Only been on it for a week and can already feel anxiety creeping up. Bad headaches and struggling to fall asleep every night. Has anyone suffered from insomnia from this pill? Read all the reviews and I am completely horrified. I am stopping this pill ASAP. Oh, and it’s a rip-off: 80 bucks for insomnia and anxiety?"

For Acne "Been on Yasmin for 4 years now due to hormone imbalance resulting in irregular periods, acne, and hair loss. With that, I’m on cyproterone acetate for 10 days during my period to remove excess DHT testosterone. Within the first month, my acne disappeared. However, my period is much heavier and more painful now than before I took it. My body doesn’t seem to like Yasmin as my immune system goes on overdrive with Raynaud's syndrome, dry skin, dry tongue, and cluster headaches. Hands turn into paper during the white 7 days of the pill. Joints hurt, even my skin turns red in patchlike forms along my face and neck. Doctor advised I see a specialist as it could be lupus, but that came out negative. Though I meet all the physical features of lupus, my tests are negative. Did anybody ever experience these side effects while on Yasmin? Or is my body just overreacting to the 'additional' hormones?"

For Birth Control "First pill I tried. It didn't really give me noticeable side effects, but not many benefits besides no pregnancy. It didn't decrease cramps by much. I still got wicked headaches that would make me nauseous, and it decreased my sex drive. Overall, when I stopped taking it, I felt like I had come out of a fog, as if the pill had been dulling senses beyond just my sex drive. Happier to be on Sprintec now."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on this pill for almost two months now, and I love it! At first, I was pretty emotional over food, mood swings, headaches, and nausea. But on my second set of pills, I’ve been feeling much better. Some side effects I get are occasional headaches. I get hungry more frequently (which was a good thing). I have bad eating habits, and this made me want food more, and I've had no weight gain on this pill. I think my boobs are growing, which is not a bad thing. I was pretty scared to go on the pill, knowing people get scary side effects, but all reactions are different for everyone. Don’t scare yourself with the bad reviews. You know your body best. I love this pill, and I hope it works great for you :)"

For Birth Control "Unfortunately, Yasmin just isn’t for me. I started it about a month ago, and after reading some mixed reviews, I was hopeful that I would be one of those who had no side effects. Shame to say that has not been the case. First week, I had awful headaches, nausea, and fatigue followed by extreme mood swings. By the second week, the mood swings had gone, but I became bloated, constipated, and ravenously hungry at random points during the day. I have gained weight already, and my muscles have started to ache. Throwing them in the bin tomorrow and hoping to feel better as soon as possible! With that being said, pills work differently for everyone, so I would recommend trying it first."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin for 2 days, and I have already experienced very noticeable weight loss, headaches, and nausea. Yasmin was recommended to me by my doctor to help ease my pains that I had. Every day, every 2 hours, I had horrible cramps that would prevent me from any physical activity. I will continue this packet to be able to determine the outcome of time..."

For Birth Control "I’ve found out the hard way... want to warn people taking the pill Yasmin to really think about it. I wish my doctors wouldn’t have recommended this to me and told me about the risks. I’m losing my hair and going bald, my skin has gotten worse, headaches, the lot. Horrible pill! Shouldn’t be prescribing this pill to women with horrible side effects."

For Acne "I’m in love with this pill! I’ve just started the second pack, and my skin hasn’t been this clear in well over a year. I regret so much trying to clear my skin naturally when this worked so effectively and quickly. Side effects were breast tenderness, which has gone away now and resulted in larger breasts. Headaches, I didn’t used to get headaches, but on the pill-free week, I had them quite bad and needed to take paracetamol. During the pill days, I have mild headaches almost daily that don’t last long and don’t require medication, but this is a side effect I’m willing to live with as acne DESTROYED my confidence. I also hope this side effect will go away after a few cycles, and also if you take it at exactly the same time every day, as the headache is caused by estrogen withdrawal. Haven’t noticed any weight gain. I previously had very light periods, but now I have heavier and longer periods. I didn’t break out at all!"

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Yasmin because I had an irregular menstrual period. Ever since I started using the drug, my period has been regular with no cramps, however, my acne got worse with time. I'm on my third packet, and my face breaks out every other day with cystic acne, which I'm still yet to figure out. During my first month, I had mood swings, was so emotional, feeling nausea a lot with a severe headache, but now I'm better. I just have to stick to the drug since it helps to regulate my period."

For Acne "I've been on Yasmin for a few years, I wouldn't recommend this pill to people who suffer from migraines and headaches. I went on the pill for my skin, and all it did was make me retain water and gain a few pounds. Extreme anxiety and constant migraines and headaches, as this pill caused high blood pressure. This explains all the headaches, I've just decided to go off it. The only positive was my skin was amazing and didn't get one pimple for a few years. I've decided to now go off it, so hopefully I'll see changes."

For Acne "Acne: For me, the Yasmin pill has been wonderful in clearing my acne. I did notice the first two months that my acne increased a little, with large cystic bumps under the skin that I had not experienced before. However, these bumps went away very quickly if I didn’t pop or touch them. After around month 3, my acne started to clear, and within a month, I was not getting any new breakouts. So far, it’s been the only thing that actually works for me. I must also add that while starting Yasmin, I was also on antibiotics, which possibly reduced the purge. I have been taking it for 6 months now and usually, I actually don’t take a stop week to get my period (unless I break through). Side effects: I have not experienced any major side effects other than my boobs growing quite a bit and possibly a bit of weight gain. For the first month, I had headaches and mood swings which have luckily gone."

For Birth Control "So I started Yasmin mid-February 2018, and about three weeks in. Initially, I had nausea and breast tenderness, but thought that's okay. Anyway, days go by, and the symptoms get worse. I've had insomnia, a dull headache daily, pelvic pain, and bad fatigue. I literally feel tired as soon as I wake up and can't be asked to move all day. This is definitely all down to the birth control pill, as I've done tests for other things. I told my doctor, who reported I finish the pack and get the IUD instead. However, I won't be getting the IUD, as I don't want any more contraception after all I've been through on them. I was on the mini pill, and I'd say they're better than the combined. Just be careful of acne flares with the mini pill. Good luck, all."

For Acne "I have been taking Yasmin for years. I primarily use it for my skin but also for birth control (I’d use another pill if it was just for birth control due to the risks associated with it). Having tried many pills, this has been the best for my skin, which I would say is virtually completely clear. I would have acne otherwise (and I’m in my 30s). I haven’t gotten pregnant yet either, so the birth control element is good. I do get headaches with it, but I do with other pills too, and I can’t say with certainty that if I came off the pill, that would stop the headaches. My mood seems fine on it, I haven’t noticed any changes, and I don’t suffer from depression. I do get a bit of light spotting in between periods, but I have had this investigated and nothing concerning has been found. I may have put a bit of weight on with this pill, but nothing dramatic, and again it’s hard to say if the pill is responsible (the older you get, the more your metabolism slows down). I can’t complain so far."

"I take this for PCOS: Pros: - No weight gain - No swollen tender breasts - No vaginal dryness Cons: - Constant crying and tearing, general feeling of sadness - Current depression state severely worsened - Extremely painful cramps, enough to yell out loud - Irrational irritability - Daily nausea - Daily headaches ranging from mild to migraine intensity - Loss of personal motivation. I primarily take this medication at night to omit some of the crazy. After 4 months of this medication, I can say I hate it with a passion. I went back to my doctor to get switched to another medication because I could not stand one more month of Yasmin. Maybe it'll work for you, but unfortunately, Yasmin did not agree with me one bit."
