For Acne "Yasmin is a lifesaver. I would honestly recommend it to anyone with persistent acne. My acne came back when I was 20 after my skin had been completely clear since I was around 16. My GP didn't feel like it was severe enough to put me on strong medication again like I was during my teen years, so he prescribed me Yasmin. I have been taking Yasmin now for around 8 months, and my acne is completely gone. I stopped taking it at one point for about a month because I was away and unable to get a prescription, and my breakouts started to come back, which definitely proved to me that Yasmin actually works. I still get the odd spot here and there, but they are always small and easy to get rid of, I no longer get cystic spots at all!"

For Acne "I have been on Yasmin now for nearly 6 months, and it was the best decision I ever made going on it! In the first two months, I experienced a huge increase in acne all over my face, but I was expecting this. By the third and fourth months, it calmed down, but I experienced a few bad breakouts throughout the month. The fifth month was when I started to notice drastic changes, I used to wake up with a new spot every day, but it changed to hardly breaking out at all, and the spots I did get were only small and easy to get rid of. I'm currently at the end of the fifth month, and my skin has never been better! I feel so much more confident in myself and my skin. All it takes is a little time and patience, and you will get the results you want!"

For Birth Control "This birth control should be taken off the market. The pharmacy gave this to me instead of my specified prescription. I have taken either Yasmin or Ocella for close to 15 years with no problems, but Syeda messed my system up within a month's time. Upon starting the pack, it did not stop my period (it’s usually like clockwork), my face broke out, and my body broke out, and my anxiety was terrible. I was able to have the pharmacy special order my Ocella this month, and I miraculously feel like myself again. There shouldn’t be such an acceptable variance with generic medications, the pharmaceutical industry should not be allowed such low-quality standards!"

For Acne "Love this pill. Went on it and cleared my skin, but I didn't know that Yasmin was clearing it, I thought it was just the fact I was no longer a teenager. Stopped taking this pill to get an implant to avoid periods. Well, it was hell, acne came back full blown, and periods were relentless. Went back to the doctor today and got Yasmin again! So excited for clear skin again!"

For Birth Control "With my previous experience with coc birth control, I was a bit dubious. I’d gained so much weight and developed awful acne on Microgynon. I’m really thankful I was able to get on Yasmin. I’d been struggling with PCOS and its side effects, but I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten. After just a week on Yasmin, I’ve noticed my skin is so soft, my hair is growing back, my skin feels plump, I’m losing weight mostly from my arms and stomach, and I genuinely feel mentally balanced in a way I hadn’t been in a very long time. I’m so taken aback by how great it’s been so far, and I really hope this lasts."

For Birth Control "I used Yasmin for 5 years after reacting awfully to a cheaper brand. I was on it from the age of 16 to 21 years and never had an issue. On the previous brand, I had awful mood swings. On Yasmin, I felt like myself again, and it cleared up my skin wonderfully. I went off birth control because I wanted to experience what my mood would be like without any medications and to experience my true cycle again. I experienced some hair loss for the first few months, but only some thinning and some pimples have returned (everybody has to deal with some at one point, right?). My hair is back to its full glory now (6 months later) as well as my normal cycle, with a bit more PMS than on the pill, but manageable. Reflecting back, my mood on Yasmin was altered slightly. I feel like it stabilized my ups and downs, which means I didn't experience my full ups. I am feeling mentally and physically healthy as well as feeling empowered to have taken control of my well-being."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for around a year, and I can’t believe I put up with it for that long. My appetite would change constantly. Sometimes I would eat everything, and sometimes I couldn’t eat without feeling nauseous. I’ve tried this pill and Tricyclen, this one made me gain so much more weight. I was on both for around a year. Finally, the mood swings. I would cry every single day for no reason. Even if something inconvenient happened, I’d start crying. And I felt like I couldn’t control it. Out of nowhere, the tears would start falling. It made everyone around me annoyed. It helped my acne for a bit, but then I started getting a few pimples again after a while. I do not recommend this one!"

For Acne "I changed to Yaz after my other contraceptive (Levlin) made my skin break out and made me irrationally emotional. My skin cleared up in 1 month! I didn't have cystic acne, but I always got big patchy breakouts. My skin is so smooth, and I'm a lot less emotional, lol. I'm also on a whole bunch of medications for epilepsy, so the fact that this pill can level my emotions is pretty fantastic. I haven't experienced any muscle pain, acne worsening, or any other of the side effects other people have mentioned. Guess it depends on the person. I've also noticed it has given me more energy, which means I can exercise 5 times a week instead of 3, which is also much healthier for me! Definitely give Yaz a try!"

For Acne "My skin had been bad with constant moderate acne and cyst breakouts before my period. I was put on Sprintec by my gynecologist to help control my acne, which did absolutely nothing. I stuck it out for 3 months as recommended, but there was no change in my skin. Therefore, she recommended that I try YAZ. I was very skeptical about starting it because I read so many bad reviews about side effects and worsening acne, but I had no other option, so I gave it a shot. The first 2-3 weeks gave me an initial breakout, but I'm now 2 months in, and my skin has never been this clear in my life. I currently have my period and don't have one pimple on my face. I wanted to share my experience because I think many people look up reviews before starting birth control, and the negative reviews convince people not to try it. But keep in mind that most people who write reviews are the very small percentage of people who experienced side effects."

For Acne "I started Yasmin about a month and a half ago, and I feel like my acne has gotten worse! My face is at its worst ever right now, my jawline and cheeks are disgusting. I am also breaking out on my upper back. Not happy. As I am only in my second month of using this pill, I am going to continue, as others have said by month 4, 5, or 6, their skin has gotten better. Others have really discouraged me by saying at the end of month one they were acne-free!! Not fair!!!"

For Acne "I’m just now completing my 3rd week of Yaz. Before Yaz, I was on the Mirena, and my skin recently started breaking out a lot. I’ve always had acne, but this was more than usual. I talked to my Dr, and that’s when he told me I should switch BC, so I did. I definitely feel like my skin is still getting worse being on Yaz. I was hoping it would clear instantly like a lot of people have mentioned. I really hope by month 2-3 it starts clearing up. If I don’t see results in that time frame, I will talk to my Dr again about it. Also, I have not experienced any other side effects, only that my boobs look bigger."

For Acne "I am 20 years old. I have taken this pill because of my acne. I stopped with Accutane (I didn’t have any acne at that moment) and immediately I started with the YAZ pill. The first month I had no breakouts or any pimples on my face. Starting in my second month, I did get a large breakout (like a lot of tiny whiteheads) only on my forehead and chin. Also, my period started. The acne was coming back in the second month, and starting in my third month, the breakout is still the same and a little bit worse than the second month. I am on my 2.5 month now taking YAZ, and I’m at my period now for 3 weeks non-stop. I don’t know when the bleeding stops and if anyone else had experience with the YAZ and having a 3-week-long period? I am praying my acne/breakouts will calm down when I start my fourth month. Thank you very much for responding to my review!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Yaz for 18 months. Since starting Yaz, I've noticed no major weight changes (maybe lost a few pounds, but I attribute that to stress) and some minor acne breakouts. The biggest three changes were mood swings, change in menstrual flow, and a huge decrease in libido. My husband noticed my mood swings and said I seem to be overall less enthusiastic about life. My flow changed to some very strange bleeding (heavy in the morning, nonexistent at night, sometimes lasting 10 days). Overall, my period flow was lighter, I just couldn't seem to get a normal flow. The lack of libido has been a huge deal in my marriage. I went from wanting sex a few times a week to not wanting it at all."

For Acne "I started taking Yaz for my ovarian apoplexy (sudden rupture in the ovary, often at the site of a cyst, and there is hemorrhage in the ovarian tissue and abdominal cavity). Plus, I’ve had acne for almost all my life (I'm 23 now), and I've always tried to get rid of it, but nothing worked. And so, the first two months on Yaz, my skin got so much better, and I hardly ever got pimples. But starting my third month, I’ve noticed that my acne started coming back, and now I don’t know if I should continue taking it or not."

For Acne "I'm 32, and I've been on this pill since I was about 19. About 6 months ago, I ran out of pills, but I was busy and kept forgetting to make an appointment with my GP, so I stayed off it. BIG MISTAKE. I am now plagued with cystic acne as bad as I had as a teenager! I had completely forgotten how bad it was and how painful my skin was. I now have to wait another month before I can even get any more, as my GP is fully booked up. Christmas and New Year will be spent inside avoiding people. All hail Yasmin."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started taking Yaz as my PMDD symptoms were getting unmanageable. For 1 week before my period, I would become depressed, irritable, fatigued (to the point of needing to nap during the day), and very emotional. I also had cystic acne and would get severe period pain. The first month on Yaz, I felt great. I had no emotional symptoms the week before my period, and my skin started to clear, and my period only lasted 4 days and caused me no problems. Almost immediately after starting my second month, I started to become depressed, irritable, and incredibly fatigued, as well as getting headaches daily. It took me a couple of weeks to realize that it was likely the pill, so I stopped taking it, and within 48 hours, I felt completely normal again. I know it works for some people, but it really didn't work for me."

For Birth Control "I was taking Zarah for a while, which is the generic for Yasmin. It was working perfectly for years. Then, all of a sudden, my mail-order pharmacy started sending me Syeda in December 2018. As soon as I took it, the first week I was breaking out non-stop on my chin. If you're breaking out on your chin, most likely it's related to hormones. Every day I was getting a new zit and new bumps, I was really upset. Until I called my doctor, and then she prescribed me Gianvi, and after the very first day, I saw a difference in my skin almost immediately. I will never take Syeda again due to my horrible experience."

For Acne "I used to be on Diane for 4 years; my skin was clear, but I gained weight, which I didn't mind; then my OB prescribed Yaz for my cystic ovary. The first month I broke out; I had tiny pimples on my forehead and cheeks and cystic ones on my chin, which was really unpleasant to look at, especially with makeup on. I had to use makeup for work. I was reading reviews here almost every day just for inspiration, lol. I also started using Aztec Indian Healing Clay, which I think helped as well. I'm now on my 2nd week of my 2nd pack of Yaz, and my skin is clear! Hopefully, it stays like this for years. You just really have to wait for your hormones to adjust."

For Acne "I've only been on this pill, Yasmin, for about a week now. My skin usually is okay and has a few breakouts here and there when my period comes around, but right now it is breaking out so much and much worse than normal, making me feel horrible about myself. It’s only been a week, and I’ve been told to stick it out for 3 months. My heart has been going crazy as well, sometimes I feel like I’m going to have an actual attack, sharp pains in my chest now and again. No idea if this is anything to do with this pill, but ever since I’ve started taking it, this is all new to me. I don’t know what to do and need help. The only reason I came on this pill was to regulate my period, as I also have the implant. The implant made my period go wild, as I was on it for nearly 4 months! However, I don’t want this to come back, so I’m unsure what to do!"

For Birth Control "I have been having these pills for two months now as a treatment for my PCOS. I am 18, and since I started having this pill, my skin went bad, and I have had acne all over my face. I have completely lost my sex drive, and I don't feel anything during sex. My mood has been funny, and I have been sleepy and tired. I wouldn't recommend this pill, it totally destroyed my sex life and my face."

For Birth Control "I’m 30 and have been on some form of birth control since I was 15. I started Yaz/Gianvi maybe 7 or 8 years ago and loved it! I was given Loryna 4/5 months ago. I must be an idiot because it took me up until yesterday to connect the dots. I’ve gotten my period every single month 10-3 days before finishing my active pills. I thought I was going absolutely crazy because I never missed any! I’ve had horrible cramps and bloating; my breasts have increased a full cup size and are extremely sore - the only time of the month I get any reprieve is when I stop the pill for my period, which is now 10 days long and super heavy and full of clots. I also have insomnia (fall asleep after 3 every night), cystic acne (this is new), depression, lack of energy, constant yeast infections/BV, and a feeling of constant PMS... Did I make myself clear that I am bloated and have cramps and breast tenderness EVERY DAY? DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL."
