For Acne "I've been taking Yaz for three months for adult acne that was unresponsive to just about every skincare, formulation, medication, cream, and makeup on the market. I had tried everything but the pill (Yaz) for several years due to becoming depressed and irritable on other contraceptive pills previously. This is the only thing that has worked! I'm so happy. The first six weeks made my skin much, much worse, but now I'm clear for the first time in years. My breasts are fuller also, which is a bonus."

For Acne "I have had the worst luck with side effects from birth control pills. I'm talking insomnia, severe cystic acne, becoming an emotional wreck with anxiety and depression; you name it, and it probably happened to me. Yaz (generic Loryna) was the best one I've taken. I'm sleeping (which is huge for me), I'm not biting everyone's heads off or crying hysterically, and my acne has cleared up, which was my main concern. I have tried 5 different birth control pills, and Yaz is working amazing for me. I gave it 9 stars because I do have some occasional chest pain when I take this pill. I'm not sure if it's caused by Yaz or what, but it seemed to start when I started this pill. I'll continue to update everyone on my progress!"

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS IF YOU WERE SWITCHED FROM GIANVI. I was on Gianvi for a year and had no issues at all, and my pharmacy switched me to Nikki last month. Since I switched, I have bloated, felt depressed, and have acne (and I have never had more than two zits in my entire life). Do not let your pharmacy switch you to Nikki! I am going to try non-generic Yaz and see how that goes. I do not usually write reviews, but these last few weeks on it have been miserable!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I have taken this pill for 7 years, and my gyno recommended a lower dose pill (Yaz). Yasmin has done wonders for PCOS symptoms of acne, weight gain, and overall mood issues. I am 45 years old and do not smoke. Overall, it has been an amazing pill."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I thought it would be useful to share my experience of Yaz for PMDD. I found Yaz so helpful for my moods. Emotionally, it really did balance me out a lot. I felt in control of my life again. No more panic attacks, heavy bleeding, bloating, and no more week-long depression. It was great. For my acne, however, it really flared things up. I persisted through till nine months of taking it. But I decided the skin just wasn't improving, so I gave up hope that it would. Since stopping, my skin has cleared up beautifully. If you are similar to me, persevere for at least six months. But it may not work for you either. Keep looking for something that works for you."

For Acne "Checking back in from my previous post. I just started my 3rd week on my 3rd pack. First, I never write reviews, and second, I'm so mad it's taken me this long to try Yaz. I can't believe how my skin looks! So clear! I had zero faith in this birth control, I've tried everything. One month ago, I was hiding in my room, wanting to get off this stuff. The initial breakout was bad, definitely made it worse by picking at it. I don't remember the last time my face has looked this clear! This was my dermatologist's last try before the dreaded Accutane. The last 2 years have been filled with nasty chin/jaw breakouts. First time in 2 years I have no breakouts. Thank you, makers of Yaz. Please, please, please give it 3-4 months before giving up."

"It’s been almost 2 years on the pill (Yaz). I started taking Yaz because of my period and acne. I would bleed so heavily I could never control it, horrible back pain and cramps. I also had acne so bad I hated going anywhere. After about 6 months to a year being on the pill, my acne cleared up, and I just was getting small pimples every once in a while. I gained weight in my butt, sides, and thighs. Now, being on the pill for 2 years, I have realized how much it has affected me emotionally. Every month at the end of my pack, I get very depressed and cry for reasons I can’t explain. The depression and crazy mood swings affected me, my parents, and my boyfriend. I’m not myself, and I’m not sure what to do. I feel like if I talk to my doctor about it, I’m gonna have to be taken off the pill, and what if my acne comes back and my period gets bad? At this point, I don’t care. I’m tired of not being me and feeling depressed. Any help?"

For Acne "I started taking Yaz because of my acne breakout, and that's unusual because I'm already way past my teenage years. About a week after taking it, I've noticed that my breakouts have stopped. Though I still get 1 or 2 tiny reddish spots every week or so (stress from being a programmer), they heal after a day or two without applying any medication on it. Before the pills, I always got nasty breakouts, and even a single pimple takes weeks to heal because it's always recurring. Today, my skin is on its way to clearing up, and I don't retouch my makeup often anymore because the oiliness has been diminished. I've also noticed that my breasts got heavier and are bigger than usual. But that's fine with me for as long as the pills won't make me fat."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I've been on Yaz for over 3 years now. It's the only birth control I've been on, and it's been amazing. I suffer from severe PMDD, and I was placed on it. So far, my PMDD is not fully gone, but it has helped my life tremendously. My period used to be 8 days long and extremely heavy. Now it's around 5 days and very light. I used to get severe cramping, and now I rarely cramp. I also had mild acne, and it's virtually gone now, except for the few I get right before my period. For physical issues from my period, it has been really successful, but for the emotional issues, it has helped mildly. I still get the panic, anger, and depression up to a week before my period, but it has calmed down. Also, no pregnancy scares at all or weight gain."

For Birth Control "I LOVE GIANVI! No mood swings, no weight gain, it's helped my acne, it controls my appetite, and my breasts have actually gotten bigger. For Acne "Having been on Estelle-35 for nearly a year (which gave me the worst acne of my life, 10 times worse than it already was), I decided to change to Yaz. I'm in my third month of taking it, and I think I've broken out (4-6 spots at the same time) twice, whereas before I was getting 4-6 new spots per day. No initial breakouts. Only had one cyst in nearly three months. The only side effect was my fault - I didn't wait until my period to start taking them and had breakthrough bleeding for around three weeks. I haven't experienced any weight gain, headaches, etc. If you're deciding whether to try the pill for your acne, just do it. Seriously. It's done wonders for my confidence and anxiety, and I can actually look people in the eye now!"

For Acne "I've been on Yaz for about 3 months, and so far, it has been great. I've suffered from acne since I was 12 (I'm 30 now) to the extent that it's really had a negative effect on my life, but now it's almost all cleared up. I barely even need to wear makeup anymore. There has been no weight gain, except for slightly bigger breasts, and it's great knowing when my period is going to come. Previously, it would come randomly. It also doesn't last as long, now only 4 or 5 days when before it could be 7 or 8."

For Birth Control "I've been on Ocella for 2 months now, my period is so light that I think it’s implantation bleeding! My cramps are very mild, and I have no acne. I've been sad about absolutely everything, but it hasn’t affected my life so much. This birth control is so much better than my other ones I have tried! For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "After trying an IUD and two other pills, I was turned off by the idea of birth control because of how horribly depressed and moody the others made me feel. Gianvi has been totally different. I suffer from anxiety, acne, and PMDD. I have been taking Gianvi for about 4 months now. Emotionally, I feel the same as I did before, except my PMDD has improved drastically. It is not completely gone, but instead of feeling suicidally depressed for two weeks before my period, I just get a little down for only a few days, which is huge for me. I have always struggled with acne, and my skin has cleared up significantly since being on this pill. I still get pimples here and there, but nothing like before. Weight gain was a big concern of mine, but I am happy to report that I have not gained weight from this pill. And a bonus is that my boobs have gotten a bit bigger too! While Gianvi has not completely eradicated my acne or PMDD, I am so happy to have found a birth control pill that works well for me."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have been on Gianvi for about 5 years or more. I have severe PMDD problems, as well as a family history of severe period problems as well (too heavy bleeding, cramps, etc.). Yaz has improved my PMDD symptoms by about 80%. It also makes my periods very light and easy with no cramps. I also have bad hormonal acne, and Yaz clears my skin and makes it glow. I still get 1 or 2 pimples around my period, but that's it. I went off Yaz for 9 months, and it gave me horrible rebound cystic acne that makes me reinstate (my skin was getting ruined!). I am staying on it indefinitely and am fine with that. I love it."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I have been on Lucette, AKA Yasmin, for 14 months. I initially went on this to control my acne as it was a real bad flare-up. My skin has been perfect, the ONE good thing. Now for the bad points - sex drive has been more or less non-existent for the whole duration. - I have experienced some excruciating migraines with temporary visual disturbances. I have also experienced enlarged veins with leg pains, which have been really frightening since this pill carries a high risk of DVT & PE. I did mention this to the practice nurse, but they still allowed me to take it? I have had, and still at this very moment, am suffering from incredible depression and anxiety. My mood is so, so low. I haven’t felt like this in my life with regards to mental health. I have no desire to socialize and have completely and utterly cut myself off. I wish I had never taken this pill, and I will never use any form of contraceptive pill with hormones ever again. Please do NOT start this pill."

My acne definitely seemed to be hormonally related (with my cycle as well as stress), and nothing seemed to keep it under control. I started taking Yaz only 8 months ago after doing some research of my own and thought I should give it a try, and I am beyond ecstatic that I did!! I had to be patient though because I didn't start to see a huge difference until about month 6. Yes, the first few months were bad, and I broke out constantly. It hurt. But now my reward is NO ACNE! In the last couple of months, I've only gotten one pimple each month right around ovulating, and today, as I type this, I have not a single pimple and will be doing my first ever microdermabrasion treatment to now help my acne scars! But truly, Yaz has been my saving grace for acne, and I hope this review helps someone out there just like they did for me!"

For Acne "In the beginning, first like 3 months on Yaz, it was actually so bad. I mean, my side effects were I was crying, breaking out all over, and just in a bad mood the entire time, and by bad I mean the worst I've ever been in my entire life so far. I've been taking it for 6 or 7 months now, and it's cleared my skin A LOT. I used to have acne on my back, chin, cheeks, forehead, physically anywhere there was skin, there was a pimple... but now I only have 3 on my entire face and 1 on my back, which is amazing. It does take a while to get used to, but it's worth the wait even if my period is kinda uneven."

For Acne "I am now on my 5th month of Yaz, and I have zero acne. Best decision I've ever made. I first started noticing a difference after the 2nd week. The acne I had started healing, and I stopped breaking out (I used to get at least one or two new pimples a week and get a bunch around my period). After the first month, I stopped getting acne altogether, and I only had some scars. By the second month, my scar finally faded, and now in my fifth month, my skin is completely clear. Everyone is different, but I would definitely recommend trying this!"

For Birth Control "I first want to say that I read a bunch of reviews before starting Gianvi and became extremely nervous because of all the negativity. However, my experience has been absolutely wonderful, with only one complaint. I am on my third pack and am having the best periods of my life. Little cramps, no bloating, no mood swings, light flow, AMAZING! My mood overall has also been very positive. I'm much less stressed and don't feel as anxious. As for my skin, like my doctor said, it did break out very badly at first, but it is clearing up. Also, my breasts have gotten noticeably bigger, which I love. My one and only complaint is I tend to be dry during sex, which has never been a problem before. But hey, there are things to help with that."

For Birth Control "I'm just finishing my 1st pack of Yaz and couldn't be happier. A few years ago, I tried the shot, only once. It took a full year for my period to get back to normal. About a year ago, I tried a generic birth control pill. It was an effective form of birth control, which was the major reason I used it for, but similar to the shot, I had almost no libido, was very emotional, and had bad acne. My fiancé kept bringing up Yaz. I decided to give it a shot since he put up with me so long. I've been happy, acne is going away, no bad side effects, and libido is up. The only way to make it better is if it was cheaper. My insurance only takes off $10, so $50/month for BCP is the only downfall."

For Birth Control "I’m 30 and have been on some form of birth control since I was 15. I started Yaz/Gianvi maybe 7 or 8 years ago and loved it! I was given Loryna 4/5 months ago. I must be an idiot because it took me up until yesterday to connect the dots. I’ve gotten my period every single month 10-3 days before finishing my active pills. I thought I was going absolutely crazy because I never missed any! I’ve had horrible cramps and bloating; my breasts have increased a full cup size and are extremely sore - the only time of the month I get any reprieve is when I stop the pill for my period, which is now 10 days long and super heavy and full of clots. I also have insomnia (fall asleep after 3 every night), cystic acne (this is new), depression, lack of energy, constant yeast infections/BV, and a feeling of constant PMS... Did I make myself clear that I am bloated and have cramps and breast tenderness EVERY DAY? DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL."
