For Birth Control "Ending my 4th day taking this BC, and I've been extremely nauseous since yesterday. Didn't even go to work today. Weak. So sick feeling, bloated, constipated, angry, and NO fuse. Yelling at my kids. So upset over this, I hate BC pills."

For Birth Control "I was using Sprintec for about 4 years with no issues until I started experiencing breakthrough bleeding every month 2 weeks before I got my “period.” So I talked to my PCP and decided to change. She prescribed me Ocella (generic for Yasmin), and the first two initial days all I experienced was nausea, which is to be expected. But about a week into it, I got the worst anxiety attacks... worse than I’ve ever had along with a very rapid heartbeat. I have had anxiety my entire life, but never have I experienced what I went through with this. Other than anxiety/panic attacks, I had no other major symptoms. I did decide to stop taking Ocella about a week and a half into it and wait until my body is ready for another BC pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on Ocella about 5 weeks now. Worst decision I ever made. I have been having heavy, uncontrollable bleeding, terrible stomach pain, fatigue, nausea, and migraines. I informed my OB, and I have an appointment set for tomorrow. Fingers crossed that something else will help. I have been miserable ever since I've started Ocella."

For Birth Control "Negatives: I've felt on the verge of crying all day, every day. I've only wanted to be alone, but when I am alone, I'm depressed and feel a sense of heaviness. It just amplifies all my negative emotions. For a couple of weeks, I was also ravenously hungry all of the time. But at the same time, I felt slightly nauseous. The positives: I got on this birth control in an attempt to clear my cystic acne. At the end of month one, I see ever-so-slight improvements. The redness has faded slightly, and my skin, while still bumpy, is a bit smoother to the touch. I also noticed a very small increase in breast size in the first couple of weeks. Nothing major, I am very small chested, barely an A cup before, and am now a more full A cup. Again, not something that would be visually perceptible, but is noticeable to myself and my boyfriend! I also feel that, while I've always been thin, this medicine has made it even easier to keep the weight off."

For Acne "I was on Yaz about two years ago and decided to take some time off of it because it made my periods about 10 days long. Once my acne started getting worse, my doctor recommended me for Ocella. The morning after I took the pill for the first time, I was very nauseous and threw up. Now, I have been taking the medicine for about 4 days and every night, about 6 hours after taking the pill, I have to run to the bathroom to throw up because I am so nauseous. I have been feeling very tired too. But sometimes I feel really hyper as well. I really hope that this birth control clears up my acne. By reading the other posts, I am very scared to gain weight. But I work out daily, so that probably won't be a problem. I have already lost weight from the nausea."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Ocella for 4 months, and so far, everything is going great. I feel normal, my period comes on time every month, and my period is not as heavy. Occasionally, I feel nauseous around my period, but that side effect occurs with or without birth control. I would recommend this oral contraceptive to anyone who is between late teens and early twenties."

For Birth Control "I think this birth control is okay. It makes me really moody sometimes, especially on my period. I only get nauseous, heavy bleeding, headaches, and cramps, but other than that, it’s not bad. I have gained plenty of weight being on it, and I get paranoid ONLY on my period. It seems impossible to get off the weight, but it could be because I’ve been on pills for 5 1/2 years straight to make sure it’s a better chance I don’t have a child. When not on my period, I get really sad sometimes for no reason at all."

"I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen low for two years before switching to Ocella. I used to throw up and break out constantly, so I switched to Ocella. So far, I love it. I haven't had nausea, spotting, headaches, mood swings, or heavy periods! Unfortunately, I definitely have gained weight, but nothing unmanageable. I had moderately severe acne, and it has been clearing up slowly but surely, which is a huge deal for me since I'm a senior in high school. My sex drive has gone way down."

For Birth Control "I was on Microgestin for years, and it didn't keep my periods regular. I have PCOS, and I've been on Ocella for 4 months now. My periods are regular now, but they don't like to stop, and it takes 3 days into the packet before it starts to stop my period. During the first three days, I get really bad headaches, where it affects my vision. I am extremely nauseous, and it makes the skin on my face flushed red and sensitive to touch, not to mention hot to the touch. I'm kind of at a loss at this point. I was told it would lower things, and it's caused me to have IBS really badly. Among the issues I have in the first few days of restarting this pill. Very mixed feelings about this pill!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Ocella for almost three months, and it makes me sad over everything. I also started getting nauseous a lot after a while, but other than that, it works fine for me."

For Birth Control "I was originally on Yaz and loved it, but my insurance changed and I wasn't able to get the name brand, so I switched to Ocella. It caused nausea for me."

For Birth Control "Ocella is a good birth control medication. For the four months I've been taking it, my only complaint is the multiple periods of breakthrough bleeding, bloating, and nausea. I'm sure weight gain would be on my complaint list, but you just have to maintain a really good diet and exercise whenever you can. But it's great."
