For Birth Control "I just started taking this drug about 4 days ago. Was on YAZ before. Did this because it was free for me. I honestly enjoyed YAZ, and it was good. Just heard this was the same thing... But yesterday, I have never experienced the worst mood swings of my life. I never have had so much anxiety about the dumbest things. I just took it a couple of minutes ago and then was thinking about why my heart was beating so fast. Come to these reviews and realize it’s this awful pill that has never made me feel so mentally dysfunctional. Will be tossing these awful pills out. For your own safety, I do not recommend. I’m normally a very happy person, and these pills have definitely made me overthink my whole life and obtain not even an hour of sleep because I was jittering the whole night... Typically, I sleep 9 hours and fall asleep right away in less than 10 minutes. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A PILL EVER."

"I'm 17 and have been on Ocella for about 9 months, if not more. In terms of effectiveness, I can't say I know, because I use a condom every time I have sex. However, it has done wonders for my acne, and I haven't had an increase in weight. But I've noticed recently that whenever I have my period, I end up being in a TERRIBLE mood. I don't want anyone to talk to me, or anything. I want to cry. I'm either pissed or I cry. Another bad thing I noticed is my sex drive has gone WAY down. I'm considering changing it, but I need the pills for periods as well, my periods are very irregular, but I want to be on birth control since I am having sex."

For Menstrual Disorders "Overall, no major issues with Ocella, and I've been on it for over two years. I started taking it due to terrible, heavy periods that caused nausea and migraines. My periods are much lighter now, and my face rarely breaks out. I still get migraines and cramps, but not as bad as before. I've also avoided pregnancy, and I never had issues with mood swings."

For Birth Control "I would say this is an okay medicine. It works wonderfully at preventing pregnancy. I've been on it for a year and the only problem I've run into is horrible mood swings and depression the entire sugar pill week. Otherwise, I've had shorter periods, lighter periods, but pretty bad cramps."

For Birth Control "I started using this as a purchase recommended from Nurx (20 years old). Also, doing some research, I figured this would be great considering I had a horrid experience with Lo Loestrin Fe, which gave me terrible anger and mood swings, huge cystic acne, which the doctor said would help with my acne. Now, switching to Ocella, I don't see a difference besides I'm not getting as many pimples, but I still am getting a new painful pimple every day, which is so frustrating. Not sure how I feel; it has been almost 2 months now, and I am now starting to bleed on and off. I am very disappointed."

For Birth Control "I have been on Ocella for a few months now. Overall, the experience has been good. I am experiencing more cramps and an upset stomach than my previous BC. Although that is not fun to experience, I have no complaints about mood swings, weight gain, or depression. Overall, I am pleased with the medication."

"I had been on Ocella for 3 years straight and did not start experiencing the terrible migraines until the 3rd year. They became extremely unbearable to the point where I went to the ER and needed anything they could give me to stop the terrible head throbbing. I stopped for 4-5 months and I am now just starting Ocella back up again, and wow, the water retention! Dude, my clothes WON'T FIT! It's so embarrassing when my lab coat at work will not buckle up on me, and the extremely high appetite, making it impossible to lose any weight! Skin pigmentation, constant tiredness, mood swings, irritability, and the acne! OMG, the ACNE. Not just regular acne, but cystic acne. I had to go to my dermatologist to get my face injected with steroids to stop the cysts from growing. Overall, I give it 5 stars for the 3 years of good consistency, not getting pregnant, and took away the 5 stars for the migraines and everything else it was costing me."

"I have been taking Ocella for about 3 years now. I didn't have any issues when I first started. My periods are only 3 days long, and I lost a lot of weight when I went on Ocella. I have developed anxiety, but I never had it this bad, and mood swings I have gotten too. I can get very depressed and emotional about things, and that has never been like me at all. I'm thinking about switching to something different to help lower my anxiety and mood swings. It's the only birth control I have taken, and my doctor was recommending something with a lower hormone count. Otherwise, it's been a good birth control for me."

For Birth Control "Ocella has worked very well for me. I have gained no weight, have lighter periods, light cramping, and have only one issue. I become emotional and insecure around day 10 or 11, and then it subsides. I'm usually stable. However, I've decided to give another birth control a try because my cost is so high. But I will consider going back to Ocella if this new one doesn't work out."

For Birth Control "I have had the exact same reaction to Ocella as the poster named 'No Babies, but I'm Crazy.' I switched to Ocella from Levora because Levora was giving me really bad mood swings. When I was on it, I would burst into tears all the time for no reason. This side effect decreased dramatically when I switched to Ocella, but I do still get mood swings quite often. The biggest difference is that my moods on Ocella are more angry/agitated than weepy (which they were when I took Levora). However, I feel like the moods are more manageable, which is why I'm still on Ocella after 4 months (I stopped taking Levora after 2). When it comes time to renew my prescription in 2 months, I may consider choosing a new pill."

For Birth Control "I am 17 and started Ocella three months ago because I wanted to switch off the three-month schedule, which I hated. I am only finishing up the third month this next week, but I love it! I would get the WORST mood swings when I PMSed that my friends would purposely avoid me. Since switching to Ocella, I have had a MAJOR decrease in mood swings. My acne cleared up for the first two months, but I broke out pretty bad during the third month. And my period used to last 8 days and now is about 6-5 days. And now my period comes at a regular time. The only cons I could have about this product are around the time of my period I am extremely bloated, and I get terrible cramps. But since my mood swings are gone, I would completely recommend Ocella."

For Birth Control "I don’t usually do reviews on birth control, but I thought I’d share. I used Yasmín (Ocella as the generic) for just over a year and in the past few months of using it, I have experienced horrible mood swings and anxiety. I have never been an anxious or moody, depressed person, so this came as a shock to me and I knew it was the pill. I already feel significantly better after one day of going off of this pill. Would NOT recommend to anyone struggling with anxiety."

"I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen low for two years before switching to Ocella. I used to throw up and break out constantly, so I switched to Ocella. So far, I love it. I haven't had nausea, spotting, headaches, mood swings, or heavy periods! Unfortunately, I definitely have gained weight, but nothing unmanageable. I had moderately severe acne, and it has been clearing up slowly but surely, which is a huge deal for me since I'm a senior in high school. My sex drive has gone way down."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control pill that I've been on as I don't necessarily like the idea of hormonal contraceptives. I just started Ocella this month and so far I have bled for 10 days straight (lightly, but I've been used to light periods that last four or five days), and my emotions have been out of control. I normally have light mood swings before my period, but this has been ten times worse and nonstop for the week and a half that I've been on Ocella. I crave junk food 24 hours a day and feel angry or upset about the littlest things. My skin is pretty clear naturally, and I haven't noticed a change in that. My sex drive is about the same. I can't say much else as this is my first month on it, but I am not a fan of the super PMS so far."

For Birth Control "I started this method about 8 months ago. I hate it. No change in acne, but weight gain, headaches, horrible heavy crampy periods, intense mood swings. I'm switching soon. On the good side: I'm not pregnant, so yay there, and I know exactly when Hell Week (last 7 days always) starts and ends."

For Birth Control "I love this pill. I tried so many others, but this is the only one that doesn’t make me emotional. No weight gain, and it’s helped clear my skin. I recommend this to everyone."

For Birth Control "I was on Ocella for about 6 months. I never experienced any headaches, spotting, or anything like that, and I'm not pregnant, so in those aspects, Ocella was great. But I had horrible mood swings!"

For Birth Control "The only reason I didn't rate this pill a 1 is because it did clear up my skin, which is initially why I switched to Ocella. I was on BeYaz for 3 months and loved it, and when I learned my insurance did not cover it, I quickly had to switch to a similar generic birth control, which I thought Ocella was always compared to BeYaz. So let me just say it did wonders for my skin. HOWEVER, within a week of taking the pill, I noticed a huge change in my mood. I was really sad all of the time, especially at work. It only went down from there. After 5 weeks on Ocella, I had an anxiety attack at my boyfriend's house, and the following week I experienced the heaviest depression I have ever felt in my life. I had horrible thoughts, felt hopeless and down."
