For Birth Control "I was on birth control for over 10 years. First Yaz, then Ocella. I was on Ocella for about 7 years. After I quit 2 years ago, it has been a nightmare. I got horrible acne, stomach problems, PCOS. I have celiac genes but didn't have celiac until I quit this medication, which activated my symptoms. It has been 2 years since I quit, and I am still sick from this medication. I have horrible acne scarring all over my face, and I am lactating since quitting, even though I've never been pregnant. I've gone to many doctors, and the only solution is to get back on birth control pills. I do not recommend this medication."

For Birth Control "I started using this as a purchase recommended from Nurx (20 years old). Also, doing some research, I figured this would be great considering I had a horrid experience with Lo Loestrin Fe, which gave me terrible anger and mood swings, huge cystic acne, which the doctor said would help with my acne. Now, switching to Ocella, I don't see a difference besides I'm not getting as many pimples, but I still am getting a new painful pimple every day, which is so frustrating. Not sure how I feel; it has been almost 2 months now, and I am now starting to bleed on and off. I am very disappointed."

For Menstrual Disorders "Ocella used to be the only generic available in the Yaz/Yasmin family... not anymore! I went to refill my prescription and was shocked when the pharmacist told me it was going to cost $100, with insurance (it used to be $30 for three months). I've been on it about 7 months now, and I really like it-- I know other people have reported getting side effects, but past the initial month of nonstop bleeding and cramps (probably more because I wasn't used to taking birth control and would forget until several hours after I was supposed to, than problems with the drug itself), I haven't had any problems. It hasn't exactly made my acne disappear, but it's better, and my awful PMS depression has basically disappeared! And no babies, either."

"I had been on Ocella for 3 years straight and did not start experiencing the terrible migraines until the 3rd year. They became extremely unbearable to the point where I went to the ER and needed anything they could give me to stop the terrible head throbbing. I stopped for 4-5 months and I am now just starting Ocella back up again, and wow, the water retention! Dude, my clothes WON'T FIT! It's so embarrassing when my lab coat at work will not buckle up on me, and the extremely high appetite, making it impossible to lose any weight! Skin pigmentation, constant tiredness, mood swings, irritability, and the acne! OMG, the ACNE. Not just regular acne, but cystic acne. I had to go to my dermatologist to get my face injected with steroids to stop the cysts from growing. Overall, I give it 5 stars for the 3 years of good consistency, not getting pregnant, and took away the 5 stars for the migraines and everything else it was costing me."

For Birth Control "I just recently finished my first pack of Ocella, and I don't have many things to complain about except the cramps during my period!!! They were deadly and so uncomfortable. My period was heavy also. But I'm on it to regulate my period. I haven't gained any weight, but I've been noticing pimples popping up, and I've never had this problem before. I'm not sure if my hormones aren't used to it yet, but the acne sucks, and my breasts have been tender also. But overall, it's a pretty good birth control method."

For Birth Control "I am 17 and started Ocella three months ago because I wanted to switch off the three-month schedule, which I hated. I am only finishing up the third month this next week, but I love it! I would get the WORST mood swings when I PMSed that my friends would purposely avoid me. Since switching to Ocella, I have had a MAJOR decrease in mood swings. My acne cleared up for the first two months, but I broke out pretty bad during the third month. And my period used to last 8 days and now is about 6-5 days. And now my period comes at a regular time. The only cons I could have about this product are around the time of my period I am extremely bloated, and I get terrible cramps. But since my mood swings are gone, I would completely recommend Ocella."

For Acne "I was given Ocella by my doctor to help cure my hormonal acne. My acne went from bad to very severe, but I kept taking the pill, hoping that it was just an initial breakout. Seven months passed, and my acne was at its worst. I finally gave up on the pill. What has cleared my face of acne is the regimen that I purchased online. My acne is gone, but now I have acne scars, which are deep pits in my cheeks. I'm now trying to get rid of the scars that Ocella caused me to have in the first place. DO NOT TAKE OCELLA!"

"I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen low for two years before switching to Ocella. I used to throw up and break out constantly, so I switched to Ocella. So far, I love it. I haven't had nausea, spotting, headaches, mood swings, or heavy periods! Unfortunately, I definitely have gained weight, but nothing unmanageable. I had moderately severe acne, and it has been clearing up slowly but surely, which is a huge deal for me since I'm a senior in high school. My sex drive has gone way down."

For Birth Control "This is my first month taking it, and I have gained weight. I have been super moody, I keep lashing out at people, and I don't even mean to. It's making my acne worse. I have had really bad headaches."
