For Nausea/Vomiting "Worst experience I’ve ever had with a medication. Why is this on the market still? I was convinced this was going to work like magic for my migraine that I was in the ER for. Within minutes of receiving it intravenously, I was extremely sedated, however, my entire insides and body were so incredibly restless. I had to move in every different position and walk around constantly. It was a terrible feeling I don’t wish on anyone. It also made me shake and gave me terrible anxiety. Today is day two, and although lessened, I’m still dealing with all of these side effects. 0/10"

"My wife took me to the ER because of a kidney stone. The first medication they put in my IV was Toradol. It helped a little. About half an hour later, the nurse comes in with droperidol. He said it had good pain-relieving properties. The Toradol didn't do much, so I went along with it. I've had numerous narcotic injections while passing kidney stones: morphine, Dilaudid, fentanyl, you name it. This was a new one for me. It did nothing for pain. All it did was make me feel like I was outside my own body. I was so groggy I couldn't stand up, although it never made me sleepy. It was almost like having a moderate hangover. I was the same way for 2 days. I couldn't even hold my head up without feeling sick. It finally wore off, but did nothing for the pain. This garbage shouldn't be allowed in a hospital or anywhere for that matter."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given droperidol in the ER for a migraine. It was the worst mistake ever! Within minutes of it being administered to me, I felt extremely anxious, my blood pressure shot up, I was having a very hard time breathing, and I felt like I was going to die. The only thing this medicine did for me was make me very groggy. I absolutely hated the way I felt, and I continued to feel some of the side effects the next day. I will NEVER take this medicine again, and I DO NOT recommend it!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was having extreme sharp pain in my upper abdomen, liver, and GB areas at 2 in the AM, so I had to be rushed to the ER. After giving me the droperidol, within the first 2 hours, I felt very groggy and sleepy. Once I woke up, my legs and arms were so restless, I couldn’t keep still or stay in one spot. I was pacing and constantly moving, felt extremely anxious, and was having a very hard time breathing, and I felt like I was going crazy. My heartbeat was elevated (about 100 bpm). I continued to feel some of the side effects later that day, but more intense. My husband called the hospital, told them my symptoms, and they told him that all of my side effects were from the droperidol and for me to take 50 mg of Benadryl. After about an hour, my body and heartbeat finally calmed down, and I fell asleep. Come to find out this drug has interactions with 2 other medications I’m on. We were furious that the doctor didn’t check my records before giving it to me. I will never take this medication again, and I do not recommend!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the emergency room because I was having sickle cell pain, and the pain meds they were giving me were not working. The doctor wanted to try droperidol. The doctor said this can also work for pain, even though it’s usually used for nausea and vomiting. I was okay with any meds that would take my pain away. Seconds after the nurse gave it to me through the IV, my body felt weird. My legs and arms were so restless I couldn’t keep still in bed. I left my room because I couldn’t stay in one spot. My heart was beating fast, it made me feel really hyper. I was really hot. It made me sleepy, but my mind and body wouldn’t let me sleep, and my pain never went away at all. I went through this for a whole day, feeling so horrible... in my opinion, this is not a good drug!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "This was hands down one of the best meds I've had. I have had several flares of colitis and had to go into the ER for treatment. This helped with the nausea and pain instantly! Yes, I felt a little groggy, but much better than when I had arrived there! I give it two thumbs up!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I get bad migraines with nausea and went to the emergency department for some relief. The doctor initially gave me Toradol and Zofran, along with some Benadryl. That didn't really do much for my migraine, so the doctor suggested droperidol. I was very wary of a new med because I told the doctor I had really bad reactions to Reglan and Immitrex, but they insisted it would help. Lo and behold, within five minutes of the nurse pushing it through my IV, I was feeling extremely panicked and like I wanted to die. My jaw was basically locked shut, and I kept clenching until I thought I'd break some teeth. I kept wanting to rip my IV out and run out of the hospital but was also so groggy that I couldn't communicate my desire to leave to anyone. I also temporarily lost my voice because my vocal cords were spasming from dystonia. It was pure hell, and the only thing that is helping it almost a week later is beta blockers and clonazepam. This drug should be discontinued."
