For Chlamydia Infection "I started taking the medication to clear up my Chlamydia infection, which I had horrible stomach pains, fatigue, burning, and pus. Was very nervous about it. But started on the doxycycline 100 mg twice a day, and I'm noticing a difference. No nausea with the medication, and I'm feeling better, but I still have 5 days to go. Feeling hopeful this will clear it up."

Doxycycline for Acne "My dermatologist put me on Doryx a few months ago, and for a long time, I didn't see a difference, but within the past 3 months, my acne has cleared up, and it looks so much better than it used to, and I really only break out now before my period. Only now, I'm getting stomach pains, and I've been told to slowly wean myself off it."

For Acne "A pretty average experience. Helped a ton with my teenage acne from when I started using it (age 15) to when I stopped using it (age 17). Had to get off it now because it would induce a lot of stomach pain and diarrhea when I was taking it."

For Chlamydia Infection "I started to try natural antibiotics like garlic and others, but the day after I got ahold of these, the discharge slowly stopped. This is a lifesaver. Although 2 days into treatment, I have had stomach and diarrhea pains. I think it's getting better, but at least my clap is gone."

For Ocular Rosacea "This drug works very well for ocular rosacea. That being said, it also gave me esophagitis and severe stomach pain. I could not tolerate it more than 9 days. My GI doc told me anyone with stomach issues should not be taking this as the damage outweighs the benefits. I followed the instructions to a T, even stood for an hour after taking it to make sure it went down. In the end, it didn’t matter."

For Acne "This does slightly help my acne, but the side effects are not worth it at all. It gives me the worst headaches, and my stomach hurts so bad that I cry. I've even, on multiple occasions, thrown up directly after I took the pill. I had to take it with a full glass of water and very specific foods, it was like every day was a guessing game of how bad it would make me feel. I know people who have had worse side effects than me, which is terrifying."

For Chlamydia Infection "I just took my first dose this morning and was super anxious about taking it. I waited a few days before finally accepting that I needed to take it or things could get worse. I took it at around 8:30 a.m. and ate some food right before taking it, drank a lot of water throughout the day, and have had no issues so far aside from my regular anxiety. No stomach pain, headache, or anything! I am asymptomatic, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to tell how it works, but I'll have my retest in a few weeks and update at the end of this week as to how it affected me, if at all! Don’t be scared! I worked myself up for no reason! I'm taking it 2 times a day for 7 days!"

For Bronchitis "This was prescribed for severe bronchitis. I took it for about five days, and it really didn’t help the bronchitis, but it tore my stomach up. I felt like my stomach lining was on fire and burning up. I lived off of Roland’s chews for two weeks and couldn’t eat a thing for the same amount of time. I lost 15 lbs during that time. On that fifth day, I realized it might be the doxy, so I quit taking it and called the doctor to get something else for my bronchitis. I’m still suffering with bouts of stomach burning and pain."

For Chlamydia Infection "I didn’t really have any problems taking this medication (took for 7 days), however, I did delay taking it for ages as I have a huge fear of vomiting and pills. I had little side effects like feeling sick and stomach pains, but this was manageable. I do not think this cleared my infection as I still have all my symptoms, such as the horrible discharge, pain down there, and while urinating. I don’t know what’s going on, it’s been months, and I’m so upset."

For Acne "This was by far my worst experience. I had better luck and way fewer side effects on Accutane. I had severe stomach pains two days after starting it twice daily, extreme nausea, and awful heartburn. I’ve used this for about two months, and my acne has only gotten worse, as well as the side effects. I 100% do not recommend."

For Acne "I'm 41 and started having acne problems in my mid-30s. Lots of little bumps and zits. After years of it getting worse, despite efforts with ProActiv, etc., I finally went to a dermatologist. I have been on this medication for about 5 months, plus azelaic acid in the morning and tretinoin at night. This combination is working - my skin is nearly clear! Downsides: it does hurt the stomach a bit on an empty stomach. Recently, I've had a yeast infection, so I laid off the antibiotic for a few days to see what would happen - zits started sneaking back, so now I'm downing yogurt and slathering on the sunscreen... so worth it!"

For Acne "I tried it for a week. Then I chose to stop taking it. Yes, it definitely did its part to clear out and fade away my acne slowly. But don't get too happy, as it is always going to come with a price. You are not going to believe when it comes to side effects on my body. The first two days, I started feeling numb in my body. I lost my appetite. My weight suddenly dropped. At first, I thought I could still deal with it. But on the fifth day, it became worse. I started vomiting and feeling nauseous like every single minute! I don't feel like doing anything except just lying down to sleep. Then my stomach pain killed me every time. Is it worth getting acne vanished? No, if you're not strong enough to deal with the side effects on your daily activities and routines."

For Chlamydia Infection "Doxycycline is not a nice antibiotic to take, 100 mg x 2 per day. Constant stomach pain, nausea for hours after taking, bloating, swollen esophagus from acid reflux. Spent a lot of time sat over a toilet feeling like I was going to be sick. Not sure if it's worked, I haven't displayed any symptoms, so I won't know for another 3 months until I get tested again. If I had the option between this and another antibiotic, I would take the other antibiotic, and I would probably recommend others do too."
