For Osteoarthritis "I am so excited to find a website with comments confirming what I've suspected - Voltaren gel is a miracle! I've tried everything for a whiplash injury - physical therapists, joint injections, steroid injections, chiropractors, NSAID pills - but did not find my solution until this gel. I put it on my neck at night and wake in the morning gloriously pain-free."

For Pain "I am in my 60s and woke up with pain (6/10) in my back. I had not experienced such intense pain, except for a kidney stone attack when I was in my 30s. I took two 50 mg Tramadol tablets, and after an hour, there was no relief. I had my daughter take me to the emergency room, I almost called the ambulance because I could barely move. The doctor determined that it was not a kidney stone, so they sent me home with a prescription for Voltaren. I was a little concerned that they had given me a prescription for a Bengay-related cream. However, this gel did the trick, as many reviews here indicate. I received relief in 10-15 minutes, and within the half-hour, I was able to walk around with little or no pain. It was just short of miraculous."

For Osteoarthritis "An amazing drug! FINALLY relief! Have had shots, lidocaine pads, OTC, scripts. NOTHING really provided relief! Can't recall the last time I was pain-free! Podiatrist prescribed for plantar fasciitis. Relieved it as well as OA in knees... small amount twice per day, pep in my step... finally!"

For Pain "I was hit by a police car in 2002. I was in recovery for a year, from the head down. Broken jaw, 4 discs crushed my neck, both collar bones, 7 broken ribs, and a shattered pelvis. So many pills, patches, and injections. Under the knife many times. A real Humpty Dumpty story. I have more pins and screws in me than your local hardware store. Note: I don't want to overstate how effective it is, but it works. Talking to my doctor about the pain, he gave me this to try. Well, my first thought was 'just another snake oil,' but it's freakin' amazing, it works like magic. Why did I not receive this years ago? The druggist gave me a stupid look and said it just became generic. All those years I would have paid anything. When you're in pain, money is no object."

For Pain "Unbelievable. I just used this for the first time and had relief in about 15 minutes. 13 years of pain - shots - 12 doctors, 2 surgeries and I put on this gel and feel so much better. For me, it is a miracle."

For Pain "I have trigger finger and a knot in the palm of my hand. It would stop throbbing, like with tendinitis. This product was the only product that brought immediate relief. My pharmacist highly recommends this product. I keep in mind it is a prescription and do not overuse. Thanks, Voltaren!"

For Osteoarthritis "I just started using this and obtained pretty immediate relief for my knee replacement knee and my other knee with osteoarthritis. I’ve had a difficult recovery from complete knee replacement surgery. Because of severe pain, I haven’t been able to continue my PT exercises. Voltaren allows me to do the exercises with quite a bit less pain. I hope that no bad reactions."

For Osteoarthritis "Oh my gosh, I have to admit, I had absolutely no hope that a topical would work for my bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in my knees. I've been in some pretty nasty pain, walking with a cane on some days, and unable to walk very far or stand even long enough to do dishes. I'm 51 years old, and I'm using a scooter at Disney World because I simply cannot walk to the gate, much less around the park. Well, I'm not going to say that suddenly I can run a marathon, nor can I walk around Disney, but the stiffness has loosened up, the swelling has gone down, and I can walk around my house without furniture walking. I can walk in the backyard to walk the dogs, and I can stand to do dishes or fold a load of laundry. 5 stars!"

For Osteoarthritis "I am a waitress and have osteoarthritis in my knee and moderate foot pain due to overuse on the days I work. I love this stuff and call it my magic gel. It doesn't take the pain 100% away, but it reduces it to a low enough level that I can sleep. Without it, I am up for hours twitching and wiggling, trying to find comfort after a long day. The scent is mild after a few minutes, and so is my pain level. After a particularly painful day, I may apply it twice. I don't need this every day, so a tube will last me several months. At $30 each tube, it does add up, but since I don't need it nightly, I manage the expense."

For Osteoarthritis "I find that right after I open a new tube, the gel works great on my knees, but within about 4-5 days, the same tube has lost a lot of its strength. I recommend buying the smaller tubes to keep the strength up. Another person who I know also noticed this and thought it was just him, but I have been using it for over a year now and the regular strength and the extra strength are both less effective after the seal has been opened for 4-5 days."

For Pain "In a nutshell, all of the discs in my back are compressed severely, causing the nerves to literally be firing off like fire in my shoulders, upper arm, underarm, forearm, and hands. Thus, causing my muscles to tighten severely, which then pull down on my neck, causing the discs to compress even more. The doctor prescribed muscle relaxers finally, but the muscle in my arm is a tough little cookie. Even after massages. So, I tried this cream, and OMG, within one minute it was not painful any longer. I wish I could give this away for Christmas presents. I'm happy to have been prescribed this medication. It's made my life tolerable."

For Pain "I have lived on a formal pain regimen for many years. Among other conditions, I live with psoriatic arthritis and deal with IBS from sensitivities to some medications. My internist prescribed Voltaren Gel for me a few years ago. My pharmacist told me to use it sparingly, that with this product less is more. I have followed her advice and use it on an as-needed basis for pain that my regular meds just don't seem to control. Like when I blew a tendon in my foot walking my service dog or when I fell and wound up with a non-displaced fracture of my tibia. Using Voltaren Gel helped me control the pain so well that I was able to walk with a cane. It is AMAZING how effective it has been for me."

For Osteoarthritis "Shortly after using Voltaren Gel, which did work on my pain, I started getting sores inside my mouth. After checking everything in my diet and realized the only difference was I started using Voltaren. I stopped, and they went away within 2 days. I cannot say medically if it is a coincidence? Maybe if someone else gets it, they will see this message."

For Osteoarthritis "I woke up one morning 6 months ago with severe lower back pain. Since I have stomach problems and am unable to take oral NSAIDs, narcotics, or Ultram, I tried Lidoderm patches without success. Then I read about Voltaren gel in Arthritis Today magazine and asked my doctor for it. It has worked well and this is the only way I am able to sit without severe pain."

For Osteoarthritis "I have been using Pennsaid topical for a week now on my neck (facets in my cervical 2-7 are narrowing and pinching nerves)... Great results... Not having any pain... It is calming down the nerves!!! What a relief!! The only side effect is a slight burning for about the first five minutes after applying... But then it subsides! This is a Godsend for me!!!"

For Osteoarthritis "The first time my doctor suggested Voltaren cream. I have osteo in both knees, right ankle, and my spine. After several tubes and no reduction of pain or swelling, my doctor suggested Pennsaid. The difference was like day and night. Not only did it reduce the pain, but the swelling in my ankle was also reduced. When I investigated both products, I was shocked to find that only Pennsaid contains a delivery agent, DMSO, that Voltaren does not. So it seems the DMSO delivers directly into the joint while the Voltaren only stays on the skin. Bottom line, I will never spend my money on anything else going forward. Pennsaid works for me."

For Osteoarthritis "The smell of Voltaren Gel is, in my opinion, atrocious, like men's cheap aftershave. Especially hard to go to sleep smelling it, seems to take forever to dissipate. That being said, I've only been using this since yesterday, and I do notice the pain in my knee has improved a bit. The warnings are scary, but a cortisone shot did not help me at all, so I'm trying other avenues. I'm optimistic about the gel, I like the fact it's a topical treatment allowing you to focus directly on the joint bothering you. If I continue to notice my pain lessening, I'll stick with it. Now, if they could just do something about the aroma."

For Pain "I use the Voltaren gel for my back pain. I have herniated disc from L3 to L5 on both right and left with pinched nerve at S1 so I have very severe pain which radiates down the back of my legs. My doctor gave me the Voltaren gel to use and it has worked wonders for me."

For Pain "I am happy with the Voltaren Gel. I have had 4 operations on my back. I have had metal put into my back to correct the bone structure and then had the metal taken out about 4 years later. I have been on the gel for about one year off and on as needed. It helps bring down the pain I experience on a bad day. It takes a little while to work, but it gets me to sleep at night when the pain is really bad. I have degenerative joint/disc disease and also problems with my piriformis muscle, and this gel helps bring down the pain. I recommend it and only need to use it 2x a day as per the directions. I have made the mistake of using more than prescribed and found problems when I use too much, so follow the directions."

For Pain "Have severe tendinitis of both wrists. Had been using Pennsaid, but it is difficult to apply to the wrist as it is a liquid-gel. Looked this product up online and asked my orthopedic surgeon for a prescription, which he agreed to. Comes with a little plastic measurement card to apply the right amount. Since I was applying to both wrists, I measured out 1/2 dose because it’s better to use less than more. Supposed to apply twice a day, and I only applied the medicine a total of 5 or 6 times. Woke up this morning and saw both wrists had peeling skin. Went to the manufacturer’s website for Amneal. Apparently, this is a side effect called exfoliative dermatitis. It says to discontinue the product if you have this or any type of rash. So that was the extent of my use of this product. Disappointed that after five or six applications I’ve had this reaction."

For Pain "I fell and injured my knees. I have had pain for three weeks. With one application of this medication, I was pain-free. Of course, I am in the process of x-rays and an MRI if needed. I really like this drug. I only wish my insurance would cover it on the lower end. I cannot afford to keep using it at the price it is now. It is NOT very expensive but I am on a limited budget. I give this medication a 10 if not more."

For Pain "I have been using Voltaren gel for months for chronic upper back and neck pain and for chronic migraine. It has been prescribed as an adjunct medicine for me in either case, not my primary medicine. I love this stuff! It absorbs very quickly and usually works well for me for a few hours post-application. So far, I have had no negative side effects from using it, just relief!"

For Osteoarthritis "By far, this is the best topical solution I have ever used. I have osteoarthritis in my right knee (had surgery over 20 years ago for torn ligaments), and I have severe back issues (2 ruptured discs and degenerative disc disease). I use Pennsaid for both problems as needed. After application, the pain is gone or immensely diminished within 10 minutes. I am being completely honest. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover this drug, and the cost is over $2500 for a 3.8 fl. oz. bottle! When I informed my doctor about this, he put me in contact with a mail-order pharmacy. He wrote me a prescription and sent it to this pharmacy, and I ended up getting this drug for only $10!! So for all of you who are frustrated with the ridiculous price, research online pharmacies or inform your doctor about the mail order option. I would post the name of the pharmacy that I use, but I'm afraid of any legal repercussions that may result. Good luck, and don't be fooled into paying full price!"
