"I have been taking this birth control for 10 months. I initially had mood swings worse than usual, but over time it actually has helped with my depression. I know most people have the opposite effect, but not with me. I was severely depressed starting it, and it subsided over time. Not sure if it was related to birth control or not. I got this pill specifically for acne, and it has helped some. I don't get cystic, painful pimples anymore, but I do get normal acne still. Not sure about the effectiveness of pregnancy, so can't comment on that part. Overall, I like it. And it's made my periods less painful and shorter."

"I've been taking Cyred EQ for about 11 months now. Overall, the drug was effective at preventing pregnancy, however, some of the side effects were uncomfortable. When I first started taking the Cyred EQ, I experienced 0 side effects, amazing! However, soon after that, the cystic acne started, which lasted for about 6 months before it went away mostly. It seemed to take my body 6 months to get used to the pill. However, once the acne started going away, then so did my libido. In addition to having reduced desire, I also developed vaginal dryness, reoccurring UTIs, and burning pain during sex. At this point, I was about to stop the pill, but I'm going to try and give it another couple of months to see if any of these symptoms subside before I consider changing what I'm doing. On the plus side, I didn't gain any weight, haven't experienced any appetite changes, and haven't experienced any more mood changes."

"I was on Cyred EQ for about six months. I took it at night, and after taking it, I was extremely tired. I can't imagine what would happen if I had taken it during the day. My acne cleared up a little bit, but not all the way; still a few pimples here and there. I was also more irritable, lashing out at family and crying about anything that stressed me out. I had major anxiety while taking this. I was also sort of dry down there and lost my libido."

"Have taken Cyred in the past with no major issues. Now, 6 months in with Cyred EQ, I have developed severe anxiety-induced panic attacks. It took a few weeks of trying to figure out why I was getting such irrational anxiety and fears when I have no prior history whatsoever. It's this pill. I am stopping this pill immediately."

"I've been taking this birth control for over a year now. I still experience breast tenderness, but it's nothing out of the blue for me, as I experienced this before without birth control, as well as during and after my pregnancy. I did have mood swings for the first few months after taking it, but that could also be due to postpartum. I told my provider that I've always had irregular periods (ever since I first got my period, sometimes weeks at a time), acne since I reached my 20s (I'm in my 30s now), and horrible/debilitating cramps. This has made my period so much shorter and without a lot of my previous painful symptoms, as well as helped even out my acne breakouts (they're manageable now). I also want to note that I've had depression and anxiety prior to starting this birth control, and I haven't felt any worse than usual."

"I first thought this pill was amazing. It stopped my cramps and cleared my face. But 4 months on the pill, I switched from Cyred to Cyred EQ. I immediately could feel the difference in my body. I became very sad and emotionally unstable about anything. I also became sad and depressed. I decided to get off the pill."

"This birth control did amplify my anxiety, and it made me undergo a depressive episode for the first 4 months. Got some acne here and there, but nothing too severe. Now I'm 7 months in, and thankfully, I noticed an improvement (I also had a good support system, so that helped quite a bit). Acne was gone too. I've always had light periods, so there was no change in my period, although I did feel more cramping before my period would start. Overall, I'm able to tolerate this birth control, but it is different for everyone."

"I honestly love this birth control. Before this one, I used to take Vestura, which is a much higher dosage than Cyred EQ, and Vestura caused my anxiety to heighten. Cyred EQ has done none of that for me. I suffer badly with anxiety, and I have noticed no mood swings, no intense side effects. When I get my period during the hormone-free weeks, my periods are way lighter too, which I love. But I will say that I have noticed a change in my pH level because of it. Before I took Cyred, I never suffered from yeast infections or any notice of BV. I noticed a change in my discharge, and my doctor had told me it was a yeast infection that might have been steering to BV. I started to take active measures to fix the issue, and it was gone until it came back again. That is my only con for Cyred. I plan on giving it one more month before I stop completely, because I do not enjoy the change in my discharge, the dryness it has given me."

"I started taking Cyred EQ about 2 months ago. In the first two weeks, I noticed a change in my skin. I have really oily skin and am prone to breakouts mostly around that time of the month. My skin has been way less oily, and I have very few active cysts. After about three weeks, I noticed some pretty severe changes in my mood. I was extremely irritable and overly emotional. There were a few days I couldn't get out of bed, and I had some pretty dark thoughts. I didn't think it was the pill initially. I have suffered from depression in the past but never anything remotely this intense. This went on for about 3 weeks before I started to feel like myself again. Also, I have been taking it without the placebo week. I began spotting and got a pretty mild breakout right around the time I noticed improvements in my mood. I plan to continue taking it, but I am concerned about the depression returning after the spotting stops. I can't comment on how effective it is at preventing pregnancy."
