For Migraine "My neurologist put me on 4x4 mg Periactin at night as a preventative for chronic migraine. I was aware of the weight gain possibility and started running and yoga. I slowly gained 5 kg in 5 months. Upon noticing this, I tried even harder. With time and dedication, I was able to exercise and eat my way back down to my normal skinny weight. When I'm hit with a carb craving (which is pretty often), I eat 30 mg of a healthy carb (such as a 2-inch chunk of carrot). It satisfies perfectly as long as you haven't consumed a protein in the last 2 hours. Do not turn to fatty carbs. The drowsiness also wore off in the first week. I am the healthiest and best version of myself, thanks to migraines. Choose not to be a victim. I now run charity marathons and have kept my career."

For Migraine "I was prescribed 4 mg 3x a day. I asked my PCP for a prescription for this after doing some research myself. I never did see clear dosage guidelines, so my Dr. put me on the dose for allergies because use for migraines is off-label. I started it at 4 mg at night and had to go home sick (sleepy) from work the next day! So be very cautious when starting this medicine. I then started taking only 2 mg each night, and it has worked wonderfully. I had a migraine every day for about 6 months before trying this, and now not one for months. I feel like I have my life back."

For Migraine "My teenage daughter suffered from debilitating migraines that became daily over a 1-year period. She was finally diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation. She tried Topamax for almost a year & Elavil for a month, along with Rizatriptan & Ketoprofen. NOTHING helped until Periactin. She was practically a part of our couch and kept our living room like a dungeon. She cried on a daily basis and could barely go to school. Now she is a normal teen and can even play sports! She rarely gets a headache, and it goes away with rest. This is 2 months of 2 pills a day (the lowest dose). She does have a greater appetite, but I have her drink more water and limit her food intake. She stays on a schedule taking her doses, one with breakfast and one by 9 p.m."

For Anorexia "I used this for a severely underweight toddler (borderline failure to thrive) to gently bring the weight back onto the growth chart. I managed to bring the weight up from off the chart to 25% (for a 90% height baby)."

For Cluster Headaches "This drug is great for cluster headaches. I have spoken with over 150 cluster headache sufferers. I took one tablet each night for the first week, and it has ended the cycle of headaches. The first night after taking one, you will still have a headache, but it will last about one half hour or so. On the second night, according to the people I have spoken with, 145 out of the 150 had the cycle of headaches ended. The remaining 5 on the 3rd and 4th day. Keep in mind you must take this medicine for up to 2 months to make sure the cycle is contained. The only way to know is to judge how you feel. Your doctor cannot do this for you. I have been having these headaches for 18 years. PLEASE TRY."

For Anorexia "I have been underweight in my life. I was searching for any kind of magical trick to gain some weight. Even I purchased oral steroids just to get rid of my skinny structure. Finally, I read about the tablet Periactin. But again, there was a problem that tablet Periactin is not available in many countries. Its UK brand medicine requires a valid prescription. Then I went to a doctor, got a prescription, and ordered these pills. Point to be noted: in the first few days, you will only feel sleepy, roughly the first 5-7 doses if you are taking 4 mg/day. But you will clearly see a difference in your appetite. This pill is tailor-made for weight gain. Absolutely worked so far. I took 12 tablets, it means 1 tablet/day and gained 4 kg weight."

For Anorexia "I had C. diff a year ago, and it made me lose so much weight! I told the doctors I was unhappy with my weight, and I couldn't eat due to stress. I got assigned these pills, and I was only supposed to take 2 a day, but my cousin was supposed to take 3 a day? Well, about two months later, I gained 15 pounds. At first, I couldn't tell, I just knew I was eating a lot more. Then slowly, I noticed I gained weight, also, in your belly area is the worst!!!!! But I'm going to start back taking the pills. Recently, I stopped because I've been busy and was a good weight, but now I'm unhappy again with my weight, so 3 times a day I will take them!"

For Migraine "Stopped 95% of my migraines. I found my migraines were related to allergies to egg and dairy - I think a lot of people don't check for this. Anyway, Periactin has been amazing, can make you a bit hungry at night, but who cares. Try it if your Dr. says it's for you."

For Migraine "My child was diagnosed with cluster migraines when he was only 3.5 years old. This is very unusual. We refused to put him on anti-seizure medicines, which the doctor said has the side effect of helping migraines. Instead, we opted for Cyproheptadine, and it has worked wonders and improved his quality of life by 100 fold. Yes, I have to watch that weight gain, but otherwise, it has been a miracle."

For Anorexia "I was 9 st 4 lb, wanted to put some weight on, tried calorie drinks and eating more, but you can't eat more if you're not hungry. Did research, found these pills. Doctor had never heard of them but prescribed me 3 months of pills, 3 a day. I took 1, felt shattered, so I take half a tablet a day. No side effects, and now 10 st 6 lbs in 7 months, feeling a lot better. Just give your body time to get used to them."

For Anorexia "Asked my doc for a prescription 5 weeks ago. I was shocked when I weighed myself. First month, I gained 16 pounds. I had two kids, both one year apart. Started losing weight like crazy. Too busy to eat. Well, it keeps you hungry. However, if you go out and buy protein bars and the weight gain shakes, they help fill you up. Ensure is good too. Also on depot, so not sure which one makes me crave sweets. I'm supposed to be 150, I'm solid about 5'8. Went down to 118 within weeks. Perfect health, just no appetite. The shakes are easy to make and buy some already cooked meals and lots of snacks. I thought my stomach was going to eat itself. I do recommend taking an allergy pill with drowsy effects at bedtime a week before you start. 140 last check."

For Migraine "I was prescribed Periactin to help contain severe migraines and have found it very effective. After taking two tablets a day for a week, I thought that maybe my migraines had been cured and stopped taking them-unfortunately, my headache came back within about one and a half days. I am now taking regular doses again and have not had a single headache to complain of. However, the increased appetite is an unfortunate side effect."

For Migraine "Cluster migraines made my life a misery. New doctor, new approach, and with Periactin of 5 x 4 mg at night has changed my life. Yes, be careful with the weight gain, and the sleepiness abated after two weeks. Some strange dreams as well."

For Anorexia "I've been treated for anxiety with amitriptyline and Xanax. During my 3-month review with my doctor, I told him how I went from a 1 to a 5 since taking these medications. I've been trying to gain weight since having my daughter 10 years ago. I was always 5/6, 7/8... After having her, barely a 1. So I'm pleased that I'm gaining weight. So he gives me my anxiety medications with Periactin. Hopefully, all goes well and I can reach my goal."

For Migraine "My 4-year-old was diagnosed with migraines (3-4 per month with vomiting and other symptoms). Given Periactin. Has had quite an increase in appetite and thus weight gain. It's difficult as a parent to balance the weight gain and social issues with that. Will try going off Periactin in summer per neurologist. Hopefully, the migraines will stay away, and she will be able to lose some of the weight."

For Allergic Reactions "Started this medicine 2 days ago. Slept for 14 hours straight. Hunger just kicked in, and I ate a huge sandwich and drink, and I'm still hungry. Changed dose to 1/2 of 4 mgs and got up this morning normally. I intend to build up slowly because of the sleepiness side effects. I intend to stay on this due to my fast metabolism and stress to get back to normal. I think it is working!"

For Migraine "I was pregnant, I had to stop taking Relpax (at 2 x a month) for migraines, and I made notes and found I had horrible pain 20 out of 30 days in the month. For 2 months, I suffered, and my OB referred me to my neuro, who referred me to my OB, and no one would help me. A new neuro put me on Periactin 4 mg once a day. I started it on - I think day 2 of what usually is a 3-day migraine, and it stopped. I had only a faint sensation of a headache."

For Migraine "I have an awful case of migraines, therefore, my doctor prescribed me Periactin. I noticed a mood change and a huge weight gain of 40 lbs within 2 months. It stopped working for my migraines after a week, and then I was prescribed Topamax."

For Urticaria "I've been on Periactin for about 6 months. I take 8 mg at night, but I can't get up on time in the morning, and the kids are late for school most days. I have found it works for my chronic urticaria but also noticed a huge weight gain. I was watching myself get fatter but didn't know why. After reading all the other reviews, I now know it is the Periactin, so I'm thinking of cutting back on the tablets. I need to lose weight. I feel horrible."

For Anorexia "Being small my whole life, I thought I’d be small forever. I tried everything I could to gain weight and nothing worked. Until I decided to try medication, and that’s why I tried Periactin. Before starting Periactin, I weighed 104, and in a month and a half (no joke), I gained twenty pounds! Forever grateful for this medicine. The first week leaves you drowsy, and once the medicine regulates you're fine, it just gives you this constant placebo, you’re hungry, and boy does it make you eat."

For Urticaria "While taking this stuff, I began to have an insatiable appetite. My mouth is almost always dry, and my ears will have a screeching noise. It puts me to sleep within 20 minutes and is hard to shake off in the mornings, much worse than Benadryl. It is playing an effective role in controlling the chronic hives I have had for close to a year. Although I don't enjoy any of the side effects, I do thoroughly enjoy not having hives all the time! I have a much better quality of life since I've begun this new prescription!"

For Allergic Reactions "I had a constant itchy vaginal area for 3 months. It got worse at night. I had so many tests and tried so many products, but nothing helped, and they couldn't find anything wrong with me! I was at my wit's end. Finally, I was put on Periactin as it is meant to help with itchy skin. Within 2 days, I was completely itch-free, and I've been completely fine ever since! Hooray! I have no idea what will happen when I stop, but hopefully the problem has resolved itself. I also had an amazing and surprising side effect. I put on 2 kgs in 2 weeks! I've been underweight my whole life, and I've never been able to get past 45 kgs. Right now I am 49 kgs! I just can't believe it! :) The first 3 days, I was terribly sleepy, but all fine now. Thank you, Periactin!"

"This tablet saved my life. After giving birth, all my post-baby weight disappeared. Everyone was wondering why I was that thin. Someone recommended this tab, and in just one month, I gained 5 kilograms. I was 52 kilograms, now I am happy to tell you I am 64 kilograms within two months. I am targeting 70 kilograms. With that tab, I know it can happen. Everyone is cherishing my figure and my new weight, and they are thanking hubby for the good work, yet it all goes to this tab."

For Anorexia "I have been using this for 4 years now, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to gain weight. However, it makes you feel very sleepy and hungry, but if you are going for that smoking hot body, you need to exercise, so you would only gain weight in necessary areas."
