"Don't bother. I took colchicine for a few days, and all I got was a gut ache, diarrhea, and it comes with a risk of your hair thinning, and at my age, it would probably stay like that. Gout is no better, so I am getting these changed to another medication, but there is virtually no choice. You either take prednisone steroids, which makes you fat and depressed, or you take NSAIDs unless they give you prescription strength, you can buy them yourself over the counter. So I believe you are on your own with gout."

"It worked fast. Just started today and see a lot of pain gone. Problem is my insurance won't cover it, and it costs $225.00 for 30 pills."

"This is a great drug for gout flare-ups. The problem is that the cost went from 5 cents per pill to $5.50 per pill."

Colchicine "Took 1 capsule and became dizzy to the point of incapacitated movement. Took 3 days to wash out of my system. Not a good medicine! Immediately stop treatment with this med."

"Had 2 bouts in left big toe. Second one was so bad couldn't use the clutch in the car or change gears on the bike. On a bad day, I considered a chisel and mallet, but about a week after starting colchicine, I woke to find pain reduced by 50%, and within about 3 weeks, 95%, so well pleased and no apparent symptoms."
