For Peritonitis "Wow, I guess it worked, but I wish I spoke with my dentist before doing this. I had an appendectomy a couple of months ago, and this hit me bad. The day after I finished it, I finally had the worst response, though I felt like my stomach was bad the entire time; the following day after completing it, I couldn't hold it in and had a food poisoning-like response. Vomit and watery stool. It was wild. It passed after that vomit, and I'm taking prebiotics now. My muscles were also achy like other antibiotics, but I hope not to need this again. I was prescribed this for a dental implant, and I think it worked. I feel like my mouth didn't respond poorly."

For Bacterial Endocarditis Prevention "My son, who was born with 22q11 syndrome and has Truncus Arteriosus (heart defect at birth), I.T.P., is typically given an antibiotic prior to all dental procedures. The dentist prescribed clindamycin as opposed to the amoxicillin he typically was prescribed. Within a few days, he got a rash in the groin area, and within 5 days, vomited and had fevers on and off of 100.5 and lower (not typical). He also got a red flaky rash on both sides of his nose, increased thirst, weight loss, and appetite decreased. Due to the clinical presentation of previous history of blood bacteria and endocarditis, 2 blood cultures taken a week apart showed negative results. CRP (C-reactive protein) and ESR both elevated in CBC blood results taken twice over a 7-day period. Fevers ranging from 99.5 to 100.5 have continued."

For Bacterial Infection "I just came back from my primary care, told her I had oral surgery six days ago. I was given clindamycin, 300 mg twice a day. Could not stop throwing up for two days, lost my appetite, after one or two bites of anything, I had the dry heaves. She asked me if I brought the bottle with me. The answer was yes, I gave her them, which she in turn threw in her bucket. Now on three different medications to get my stomach back to normal. Clindamycin on my chart not able to tolerate. If you have to take it, eat, eat, eat before you take it. Me, I had about twenty-five stitches in my mouth, told no solid food, just soup."

For Bacterial Infection "I was prescribed these pills to get rid of an infection before having a root canal done. In the 7 days of taking them, I had some diarrhea, but not alarming. When they did the root canal, they said they can't finish today because there is still some infection in the tooth. Not what I wanted to hear. Now, 2 days after the last dose and the procedure, I'm vomiting and dry heaving without end! This is awful! And I can't sleep. It's definitely going on the criminal list for me. I'll have the tooth pulled before taking this again."

For Bacterial Infection "I had 4 days of IV clinda in the hospital, and it did help my infection improve, however, it caused me to vomit nonstop for 3 days and I couldn't keep any food down at all, not even liquids, so I had to have IV glucose and salts. I got switched to Augmentin, which I have come home on, but since the last 2 days of the clinda, I have had diarrhea very badly with stomach pain and continued nausea. I also developed a rash over my chest, neck, and face for a day, which subsided after the last dose. Overall, this drug works but has some pretty uncomfortable side effects."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was given clindamycin for bacterial vaginosis while pregnant. I had been on it once years before for something else, and it made me vomit once and mildly uncomfortable the rest of the time. This time, it has caused throat and chest pain and tightening, rash, horrible heartburn, and more. The doctor won't give me anything else, but I am beginning to think the BV is of less risk to the baby than this is. Never again."

For Bacterial Infection "I took this, and within 24 hours, the infection was reduced and bearable. I actually love it. I did get a little nauseous and threw up twice, but it was worth it for me."
