Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "At 42 years old, I was drinking a fifth of tequila every day even though I have pancreatitis. I lost my job because I couldn't stop drinking because when I did stop, I got the shakes, nausea, and seizures. Thankfully, Librium was the drug that helped me stop and quit this vicious cycle of drinking."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "This has helped. I had a severely bad seizure, taken to A&E. It saved me being honest with myself, number one, and the medical staff. I’m taking under supervision and now down to one before bed. Librium has really helped me with the alcohol withdrawal. I pray every night I will survive this awful disease."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Was a 2.5/3 pint a day vodka drinker for 3 years. I'd medicate on it. 2 or 3 shots every couple of hours around the clock. I started needing the vodka to stay asleep at night. I'd wake up with the pounding heart and shakes. And my guts were sour (constant diarrhea). I couldn't go more than 3 hours without it or I'd go into full-blown paranoia and anxiety attacks. I'm afraid of drugs. I hate pharmaceuticals. And I was done drinking, so I tried to wean myself over and over again and failed hard. Finally broke down and went to detox. Librium was their go-to. The stuff is amazing. Made detox a breeze, to be honest. I wasn't even tired on it. I felt normal, to be honest. No shakes, no paranoia, slept good (vivid dreams). 25 mg 3 times a day for 10 days."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I wish I'd known about Librium sooner. I lost my business to a natural disaster and then lived on Coors Lights for a year. It started as fun but ended months later with arguments and blackouts...then came the morning shakes and dry heaves. I drove to urgent care last week and skipped the line, telling the clerk I needed immediate help because I couldn't hold my water bottle. I was in a bed within 10 minutes. My blood pressure was through the roof. They gave me a fluid and vitamin drip along with Ativan for the anxiety and Librium for the shakes. Fifteen minutes later, I didn't feel at death's door. Two hours later, I headed home with my sister at the helm (I couldn't drive, I was too doped up). It's been a week, and I'm back to running, surfing, and getting my life back together. If you're sick of withdrawals, get it."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I detoxed once inpatient and was given Librium in unknown amounts. I relapsed a few months later, back to drinking a bottle of vodka every two days. I went to a substance abuse doctor who said I could safely do it at home. Took 50mg right away, 50mg that night. 75mg day 2, 50mg day 3 and 25mg day 4. Those were taken at once either in the morning or at night. I did morning because throwing up and shakes were the worst part of the withdrawal. Working like a charm. Highly recommend to anyone. I tried cold turkey and that's how I ended up inpatient the first time because I was dangerously sick by day 3. Librium is a Godsend for withdrawal."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Second time using Librium to help with my drinking problem. First time I was drinking half-3/5 of a fifth a day. I took it like clockwork. Woke up specifically to take it. No issues at all. Second time I went into the ER (I have a heart condition... Yes, I know I’m an idiot for drinking with a heart condition). Told the doctor how much I was drinking, and he gave me a very polite yet stern talking to and sent me home. I decided to wait and see how I felt. The next day, I woke up and was shaking and sweating and had horrific nightmares. Took a Librium, and within an hour I was eating and feeling much better. The only thing I notice is mild shakes, some drowsiness, and some anxiety. But a thousand times better than how I was feeling. Now I’m gonna take it like clockwork until I know I’m safe."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Anxiety "Omg! Why did it take this long (15-20) years for a doctor to prescribe this amazing medicine! I am on day 3, WAIT ALMOST A WEEK!, without a Valium or Xanax, and I feel great! It's like the devil has left me from being a slave to my benzos. Driving around on a Sunday night, trying to get a too soon script filled by saying I have no health insurance. It doesn't work! I feel so amazing! I do have a script for Valium, but I don't even want to fill it (I'm due), but I don't freaking need it! I'm so happy! I just want to know why I only received 10 pills? He also prescribed me Clonidine 0.1 mg 4 times a day and Gabapentin 300 mg twice a day. I am being compliant, but Librium is a benzo! Am I going to have benzo withdrawal when I don't take Librium?"

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Gotta say, in my 36-ish years, I've gone through terrible withdrawals. Probably 7 times, every time, one course of Librium killed all the side effects instantly, and I'd be dead if Librium didn't exist."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "13 years of drinking a pint of vodka 4 days a week. 14 days ago, haven't had a drink. My doctor prescribed 25 mg of Librium on day 12. Dosage: 50 mg, two times a day, every 8 to 12 hours. Max: 100 mg per 24 hours. Day two: 25 mg every 6 hours, day three: 25 mg every 8 hours, day four: 25 mg every 12 hours, and finally, 25 mg before 'bedtime.' I have a follow-up appointment with the doctor a week after the initial visit for detox symptoms. Also, an intake appointment set up with a well-known outpatient hospital (St Lukes/Mt Sinai, NYC), addiction program, within three days of starting Librium. Librium has taken the severe edge off withdrawal hell. Expect to feel relief, not cured, possibly nauseous, unsteady/heavy legs, as well as tired. ♡"

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Anxiety "I have Panic Attack Disorder and anxiety. I use Librium on and off as needed. It works wonderfully. Makes me calm in about 20 minutes, and I feel I can control the rest of the day. I take 5 mg as needed. When I take it as needed, it doesn't have side effects."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "This medicine is a miracle. I was a heavy drinker for most of my teen years (literally a day or more of whatever I could get my hands on). I went through one of the best inpatient treatments where they gave me Librium. Within minutes, I was feeling like I was floating and loved it. Anything that took away the dreaded withdrawals was better than that feeling. It totally took away my depth perception but allowed me to finally eat, for the first time since my withdrawals kicked in. I was clean and sober for about 10 months, then relapsed. The pain and withdrawals were just as bad as they were before. I went and got prescribed this medicine and detoxed at home. I was up, walking around and functioning normally minutes after taking it."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Anxiety "Have been through Klonopin, Xanax, Valium. I didn't care for the high feeling from any of these drugs. Librium has a way of mellowing me out without behaving differently. Great job of relieving my anxiety."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Anxiety "A lot of stress in my life, and I didn't sleep at night. I always turned to alcohol to solve these problems. My doctor put me on Librium, and I have been on it for just over a year now, alcohol-free. I still worry about things, but they are easy to just let go, and I sleep every night without waking up every hour stressing over something. One thing I will say, though, is that although it has taken the anxiety out of my life, it's like it has also taken away the joy, like all the color is gone, not just the darkness. I feel 'comfortably numb' most of the time. Still, it's better than the way it used to be! I was prescribed 25 mg three times per day, but I take one pill when I get up, split the second into two ½ doses, then one pill an hour before bed."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I've been a heavy daily drinker for a few years now and got prescribed stomach pills that had Librium as one of the ingredients. After a few days of taking it, I had a really busy day and didn't realize until the next day that I hadn't had a drink. No cravings, no cold sweats, and even slept well. Impressed."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Drank heavily for 2-3 years, vodka and wine couldn't stop 'til the bottle/box was gone. Dr. put me on Librium for a week after I tried to stop on my own. I quit for 1.5 years and then started back to 1 binge a week. Went to Dr. today to get back on Librium, so far I've only taken it once today and my cold sweats have stopped. I hope this helps some of y'all."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I'd rather be on Librium for the rest of my life than have alcohol. What these doctors need to realize is alcohol can cause organ failure while Librium does not. We don't live in a perfect world, if a pill keeps me sober, I'm on it for good."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Stopped taking my anxiety medication and thinking alcohol was the lesser of two evils. I went from being a 2-3 days a week drinker (drinking a 6-pack or less) to a liter of vodka a day drinker in less than 3 weeks. Went to the hospital to detox, and they gave me Librium. Took away the shakes, hallucinations, everything in just a few hours. 4 days later, it was out of my system and haven't drank since. Doesn't stop diarrhea from detoxing, but the dangerous stuff got stopped in its tracks the minute they gave me this medicine. Do not try to detox on your own! They do it in 3-5 days in the hospital with this drug, keep you comfortable and monitor your vitals. Best decision I ever made. Saved my life for sure."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Back story: I am a 134 lb, 29-year-old woman who has been drinking heavily since 19. 5-10 a day is where I have been for some years now. I tried tapering myself and was going through hell. I was in fear for my life and was terrified that if I saw a doctor, they would cart me off to detox. I have spent some time focusing on recovering and am very motivated. I am at the point where the idea of taking another drink makes me sick. I went to the emergency room, and they immediately gave me Valium for withdrawals. I left with a prescription for Librium, but my pharmacy was not open. The nurse even suggested taking some drinks until I could get the prescription, but I found a 24-hour pharmacy and just paid for the Librium. Amazing stuff. I actually slept!"

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Been through alcohol withdrawal several times, and the anxiety/panic attacks, sweats, shakes, and convulsions are just hell. Last time was so bad I ended up in the ER. They gave me some Librium, and wow. Who knew that this could make it so easy? I sailed through my withdrawal. Have joined AA now, never again."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "Going on day 3 of using 5 mg Librium 3 x day to help with alcohol issues. I had been in the ER, with moderate withdrawal symptoms. This was the first time that my neurons started to fire once the alcohol level was down. It was like vertigo times 10. Ativan in the ER...then sent home with a script for Librium. It has been working very well. Just hoping I don't become dependent."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I've detoxed with Librium (now) 5 times. Currently into my 3rd day with Librium. The first couple of times I detoxed with the stuff, it was amazing. Just three 25 mg pills a day to ward off withdrawals from 3 pints of vodka a day, 3-month-long benders. But I will warn you of this... you build a tolerance to Librium. This time I needed more 25 mg pills in just the first 24 hrs. Then 4 on day two, and now I'm down to 3 (will wean off over the next few days). Stuff is still amazing, but don't be an idiot like me and bounce between booze (to the point of almost death) and then benzos; just to drink booze again."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I'm 29 and have been to the ER several times, probably about 10 for alcohol intoxication/dependency, and this time the doctor actually got attitude and yelled at me, and that was my wake-up call. I'm also prescribed Xanax for my panic and anxiety, but the Librium is a miracle. Now granted, I didn't drink a lot the last time I went, but having GERD and drinking don't mix either, and I've been taking my 50 mg of Librium for 3 days now, and I feel like a better person. Anyone who over-drinks or wants to stop drinking, I suggest going to the ER, explaining everything to the doctor, and they will most likely give you Librium and also Zofran if you have any nausea. You can become clean, and also going to an outpatient clinic wouldn't be a bad idea either, even though it's almost like therapy. If you relapse, they are able to get you into inpatient detox. Good luck, everyone, and also I strangely enjoyed your stories, lol."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Alcohol Withdrawal "I was a very heavy drinker for 7 years. It got to the point where I was drinking 18-24 beers a night. I would drink right after I woke up because I'd be shaking. I decided I needed to stop. I went to my doctor, and he gave me Librium. He told me I could take up to 300 mg a day. I took 125 mg each day for 3 days. This medicine worked wonders. I had virtually no withdrawal whatsoever during the 3 days. I recommend this to anyone who wants to quit drinking without going to a detox center."

Librium (chlordiazepoxide) for Anxiety "I'd suffered from ongoing anxiety and found my usual antidepressants were not working anymore. Also, I was going through a very stressful period, and not sleeping or eating well. My GP prescribed Librium for a short period of time. I found it really effective. My sleep and appetite returned, and I was coping much better with anxiety. It's been two weeks now, and I am going to ask if I can continue taking it for a bit longer. I have had no noticeable side effects."
