Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I have just returned home from speaking with a specialist regarding withdrawal from alcohol with Librium. I can't stand the endless lost days to drink any longer. The sweats, dry retching in the mornings, the sleepless nights, drums in my head, the moods, not being able to concentrate, etc. Two-plus litre bottles of rum each day! Craziness!! Looking so much forward to my detox next week, new life, new me, new family, forever! Your comments on the use of Librium have been so helpful. Thank you all! Wish me luck, keep you posted."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "Going cold turkey, I experienced insomnia, sweating, anxiety, and very high pulse. Then I decided to get medical help. They gave me Librium 25mg four times a day for the first three days, 25mg three times a day for the next three days, 25mg twice a day for the following three days, and 25mg at bedtime for the last three days. Librium sure saved me from convulsing and ending up at the emergency room or dead! P.S. Always add a good supplement of vitamin B complex 100mg, very helpful when you detox. Alcohol prevents your body from absorbing vitamin B. Good luck!! One day at a time :)"

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I decided to quit drinking a few weeks ago. I experience some pretty scary side effects, including hallucinations. After two visits to the ER and one hospital stay for detox, I was still having a lot of anxiety, a fast heart rate, and insomnia for weeks. I sought the advice of my doctor, who was compassionate and prescribed me Librium. It helped me immediately. My heart rate returned to normal, my anxiety diminished, and I finally was able to sleep through the night. I urge anyone who wants to quit drinking to talk to their doctor about Librium."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I've always done cold turkey withdrawal, and this is the first time I could function. It made me feel numb and zombie-like, but I'd rather have that than the cold turkey withdrawal. I'm a 39-year-old female who's been drinking since 15. I'm a horrible binge drinker that can go weeks with only vodka or other kinds of booze. I wake up in the morning and drink until I pass out, as soon as I wake up, I do it all over again. The only way I stop is if my husband takes my wallet, keys, and any access to $. My withdrawals kick in quick, and I feel as if I'm dying. I don't sleep for 3 to 4 days, I hear stuff that's not there, I sweat profusely, and then I'm freezing, horrible anxiety. My heart jumps at any noise, my heart races, and I get super depressed."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Saved my life. Was minutes from committing suicide. It allowed me to come off the drug alcohol and be sane. My children will be better for it for me. Cold sweats, shakes, insomnia. Suicidal thoughts. Or Librium. And family support."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "After years of hard drinking, I woke up yesterday in the throes of death. Hands shaking so hard I couldn't type. Sweating. Spasms. Vomiting. Trouble breathing. I couldn't even walk, my legs were like Jell-O. Having had hallucinations and seizures in the past from withdrawals, I had two options: go get beer (not an option, I was having panic attacks), or go to the ER. I opted for the ER. They gave me Librium an hour later, and every symptom stopped in about 30 minutes. The doc gave me a prescription for a week, and sent me on my way. I figured I'd start the next day, however, I found sleep that night impossible. I decided to take 2 Librium at 4 am and slept for 7 hours. I'm not even sure how I can type right now."
