Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "This drug got me off alcohol and all the withdrawal symptoms in 3 days. I never would have expected such quick results. If you need help with the tremors, anxiety, vomiting, and irritability, please ask your doctor for a prescription. I was taking 10mg 3x per day, and it was a miracle."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I was drinking for 4 years and tried numerous rehab centers, all of which did not believe in providing drugs, just vitamins. I tried to stop on my own the other day and sat in the living room shaking and shivering. I finally went to my doctor yesterday and he prescribed Librium to help with the shakes and anxiety. Day 2 and feeling much better. The drug works for the shakes and pain of withdrawal. I know I have a long road ahead to actually clean up my act, but the drug is a great start to dealing with the discomfort. I tried to write on my computer yesterday but the shakes would not allow me to make any sense, today, I can write with fairly good ability. The Librium definitely helps. Good luck everyone in recovery, it can be a struggle."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I decided to quit drinking a few weeks ago. I experience some pretty scary side effects, including hallucinations. After two visits to the ER and one hospital stay for detox, I was still having a lot of anxiety, a fast heart rate, and insomnia for weeks. I sought the advice of my doctor, who was compassionate and prescribed me Librium. It helped me immediately. My heart rate returned to normal, my anxiety diminished, and I finally was able to sleep through the night. I urge anyone who wants to quit drinking to talk to their doctor about Librium."

Chlordiazepoxide for Anxiety "A lot of stress in my life, and I didn't sleep at night. I always turned to alcohol to solve these problems. My doctor put me on Librium, and I have been on it for just over a year now, alcohol-free. I still worry about things, but they are easy to just let go, and I sleep every night without waking up every hour stressing over something. One thing I will say, though, is that although it has taken the anxiety out of my life, it's like it has also taken away the joy, like all the color is gone, not just the darkness. I feel 'comfortably numb' most of the time. Still, it's better than the way it used to be! I was prescribed 25 mg three times per day, but I take one pill when I get up, split the second into two ½ doses, then one pill an hour before bed."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "For me, this relieves withdrawal symptoms within an hour. It's like magic relief from awful withdrawal anxiety, heart thumping, and nervous system twinges that I get in withdrawal. I have been prescribed it when I am honest with the doctor, and they know I am pursuing staying sober, going to counseling, etc. It is a miracle for withdrawal symptoms for me."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I was in withdrawal one and a half days when I started shaking and feeling anxious. Having already had several seizures due to alcohol, I went to my GP, who prescribed Librium. Symptoms almost stopped completely after one day and after that, no symptoms at all. Don't try to stop yourself, it's dangerous and could cost you your life."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I had been drinking the equivalent of a bottle of gin a day for the last 4 weeks. I'm an alcoholic who had managed to quit 4 years ago but had a serious relapse. I tried tapering down the booze, but I felt like I was losing my mind with the stuff. I wanted to go cold turkey, but the withdrawals were utterly horrific - I've never felt so dreadful, the depression was indescribable. I was worried I was actually going clinically insane. I got an appointment with my doctor, and he gave me a Librium prescription. On the first morning of taking the pills, I could have cried with relief at how much better the Librium made me feel - I almost felt 'normal' even though I was starting the cold turkey/withdrawal process. No shakes, no anxiety, no dread."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I've always done cold turkey withdrawal, and this is the first time I could function. It made me feel numb and zombie-like, but I'd rather have that than the cold turkey withdrawal. I'm a 39-year-old female who's been drinking since 15. I'm a horrible binge drinker that can go weeks with only vodka or other kinds of booze. I wake up in the morning and drink until I pass out, as soon as I wake up, I do it all over again. The only way I stop is if my husband takes my wallet, keys, and any access to $. My withdrawals kick in quick, and I feel as if I'm dying. I don't sleep for 3 to 4 days, I hear stuff that's not there, I sweat profusely, and then I'm freezing, horrible anxiety. My heart jumps at any noise, my heart races, and I get super depressed."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "I've been a binge drinker on and off for about 4 years. This last binge lasted about 5 days around the clock. Going through withdrawal begins almost immediately for me if I don't drink every hour or so. I get extreme anxiety, heart racing, minor shakes, and can't just settle down. My doctor gave me a Librium taper starting on 50 mg every 6 hours day one and going down from there. My experience with the first dose is that it did not do anything for me. I was still just as miserable. Once I took the second dose, I was able to fall asleep. Today I'm pretty anxious, but it does take the edge off. It's not a magic bullet that cures all withdrawal symptoms. Good luck!"

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "Librium was great for my alcohol detox. While it didn't completely get rid of my shakes, it did alleviate the nastier symptoms of my withdrawal. There was no nausea, minimal anxiety, etc. Helps immensely with alcohol detox."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "Recently went through another huge bender and decided enough was enough and I needed to quit drinking for good. I had cold turkey'd twice in the past with some rough times, but nothing big, so I figured, why not taper? I messed up, and it just led to bad WDs. Shaking, sweating, anxiety, racing heart, spasms while trying to sleep that kept me up for days. I finally hit my breaking point and went into a hospital and got help. I was scared as well about how bad I was. Both other times I quit were never like this. I was, of course, put on a drip, but I walked out with a bottle of these and instructions on the day-by-day dosage. So far, it's only been a few days, but all of those nightmare WD symptoms went poof. I now am committed to never drinking again, am finding a support group, and I can say this drug will absolutely assist you during bad WDs."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I've been drinking heavily for 11 years now. Lost many jobs because of my addiction. I've been a bartender for over 7 years. I've never once said I need help and could do it on my own. I know now I can't and need help. I've drank every single day for the past month, over a fifth or more than 10 drinks (if at a bar/restaurant). I definitely needed this medication. It's my second day and the shakes have worn off. The first day was difficult. I will say it definitely helped take the shakes away, cravings, and anxiety. I have a long road ahead of me, but I have faith, feel better, and am optimistic about a sober future! These pills are saving my life! Highly recommend. Good luck to you all that have read this and are struggling with alcoholism!"

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "Was a heavy drinker, there were some days I'd cut my hangover with another 6 or 12-pack of beer. Started feeling anxiety, numbness in my hands and face, felt confused as well. Didn't feel good whatsoever. They gave me both Ativan and Librium, 30 minutes later, all the anxiety went away. Now I know some of you guys don't like medication, but in this case, it's a literal lifesaver. Just got prescribed Librium after the hospital, and it saved my life from a dark path of detox. If you or a group is trying to quit, please don't quit alone, please seek medical attention to help you through the terrible journey. They can help make you feel better."

Chlordiazepoxide for Anxiety "Went to the ER during alcohol and opioid withdrawal. Literally heart racing, blood pressure high, and could not sit still. My skin was crawling! After a few hours, I was given three 25 mg Librium and a script for 20. Well, I made it home, thank God. When I got there, I was falling down. Woke up a few hours later, felt groggy. Decided to fill the script as anxiousness returned. It calls for 2 twice a day, I only need 2 at night and it lasts all night and day. Plan on going to 1 a night, then zero, as not to pick up a new habit. In all, this medicine is a lifesaver!"

Chlordiazepoxide for Anxiety "Different medications affect people differently. For some, Librium helps with anxiety symptoms, and it's effective in helping many with detoxing. Personally, it made me feel jittery, confused, sick, and I had a difficult time falling and staying asleep. Ativan worked better, but it's one of those benzos doctors don't like to hand out due to its addictive nature and based on the patient's history. For many, Librium is probably the safer bet if there's a concern about becoming addicted, but for me, it just made me feel bad, and I need something stronger and quicker acting. Our body chemistries are not all the same in how it works, so don't be discouraged. It may work for you."

Chlordiazepoxide for Anxiety "I was given Librium yesterday in place of Ativan. I took one at noon yesterday and then worked an 8-hour shift and had more anxiety than I felt I could handle. I took another Librium this morning and still have a lot of anxiety. It’s just not helping. I am not a fan of this medication."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "My ER doctor started me on Librium for alcohol withdrawal. I have never been sicker after starting a med. Pain in both sides of my stomach, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, vivid dreams with little to no sleep. Flushed my prescription on day 2 and had to see my primary care doctor to get myself leveled out. Don't recommend this medication to ANYONE."

Chlordiazepoxide for Alcohol Withdrawal "Going cold turkey, I experienced insomnia, sweating, anxiety, and very high pulse. Then I decided to get medical help. They gave me Librium 25mg four times a day for the first three days, 25mg three times a day for the next three days, 25mg twice a day for the following three days, and 25mg at bedtime for the last three days. Librium sure saved me from convulsing and ending up at the emergency room or dead! P.S. Always add a good supplement of vitamin B complex 100mg, very helpful when you detox. Alcohol prevents your body from absorbing vitamin B. Good luck!! One day at a time :)"
