Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Contrave on March 1st, and as of March 19th, I'm down 15 pounds! I'm very pleased with that amount of weight lost. I have not had any side effects so far, so I will continue on. I will check back later and give you an update on what the full one-month total weight loss was."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) "I went from 110 to 160 in 1.5 years or less due to my binge eating disorder. I decided to talk to my family doctor after doing research and was able to get Contrave for free from my insurance, along with the 10% extra they provide, which is awesome. I struggled to take them for the first couple of weeks because they were so big, but I got used to it after a while. They made me very nauseous, and I would have to sit at the end of my bed and breathe for 10 minutes before getting up in the morning. No, you shouldn't drink while taking Contrave. I did once and threw up the next day when I was getting ready for work in the morning. Not a good idea. Contrave completely suppressed my appetite, but I was eating healthy and having 3 meals a day. After losing 40 pounds in 4 months and being back at my pre-binge weight, I went off them and developed healthy eating habits, including homemade meals. I could not have done it without Contrave. It was the best decision I've ever made, to be honest."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was one of the few that didn't see a result. I had the nausea, as most everyone else did. I followed the dosage directions perfectly. I read that if you don't see any change in appetite by the 4th week, you probably won't. That much is true. I gave it 3 months."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Contrave in May of 2018 at 342 lbs. I didn't take my weight loss seriously, I actually gained 7 lbs. My doctor threatened to cut my medication if I didn't lose at least 10 lbs by my next 3-month checkup. I started walking 4-7 miles a day. I also started drinking a lot of water. In 3 months, I lost 70 lbs. The circulation and color in my legs returned, I have more energy, fit in a plane seat, and can tie my shoes. I went from a size 48 to a 36 waistline. After ramping up to 2 pills a day in the morning (I never took the 2 pills in the evening as I misread the instructions), when I discovered my mistake, I decided to just keep taking the 2 pills a day because it worked. No weight loss program is going to work if you are not all in. I expected the drug to do all of the work when I first began - mistake. I would recommend it, but you do have to work with it. Good luck on your health improvement journey. Over 50 and feeling great."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been struggling with weight loss since my hysterectomy. My starting weight was 168, and I am down to 160. I just started week 3, taking 2 pills in the AM and 1 pill in the PM. I really have not changed my diet. I do not crave sugar or carbs. I can just walk away from the donut. I can't report any side effects. I have not felt nausea or any of the listed side effects. I plan on adding more exercise. For me, this pill works."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost weight of 55 pounds (25 kg) between May and October last year with the help of Contrave. I used 4 pills per day and had no notable side effects. After that, I moved down to 2 pills per day until the end of December. But when moving to 2 pills, I immediately noticed the appetite-suppressing effect wasn't as good and I gained 10 pounds back by the end of the year. From January, I stopped the drug completely, and what happened to me when I stopped Contrave completely - I have now gained back 45 pounds of the 55 I lost. I started Contrave (4 pills per day) again in March, but this time I don't feel the effect as good as earlier, which is disappointing. As advice to all of you, don't stop the full dose too early and make sure you know how to eat without gaining weight. And stick hard to the new eating habits after stopping Contrave, you don't want to start the same weight loss process over again..."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 28-year-old female. Started out at 233 lbs. Doctor put me on Phentermine, and it was the WORST - ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration and heart palpitations. It also made me so tired I couldn't even function! Thankfully, she took me off last week and started me on Contrave for my addictive personality (food and cigarettes). Well, this is day 5, and I haven't had a craving for a ciggy yet AND I'm down 8 lbs. The key is YOU HAVE TO EAT. You have to eat 5 small meals a day and drink, drink, drink that water! Incorporate exercise too. I don't think most people are doing any of the above, that's why they have no results! I haven't had any side effects (yet, knock on wood). But I really think this medicine is it."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Highly recommend. I’m 5’5, mid-30s, female. Started this drug at 282 lbs. Seven months later, I am down to 239, without adding exercise, but I am going to as a next step. Side effects are manageable. They include headaches and I find myself a little short-tempered, although I’m not sure if that is from this or not. I did try Ozempic and had horrific stomach pains and gastro; my body just can’t tolerate it. This has been a great alternative for me. I still eat everything I want, but I don’t crave unhealthy portions anymore. It was not uncommon for me to eat huge amounts of food, especially when stressed or upset. Now, food has no appeal unless I am actually hungry, and I stop eating when full without issue. Such a simple thing, but not for me."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on day 3 and lost 4 pounds so far. I'm not hungry. I had cheese and ham for lunch, that's it, and lots of water. I hope this weight keeps falling off as the days pass. I am a little nauseous, but nothing I can't handle."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Contrave for almost 11 months now. I just hit the 100 lb weight loss mark a few days ago and am now at 103 lbs lost. As I've said before in these reviews, it's been amazing for me. Low side effects and so much relief from my food addiction. I didn't really know that until this med let me take a step back from it and I could see exactly how all-consuming and crushing an addiction it was. I never had the nausea or headaches."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Contrave 2 weeks ago. The first day I was good, the second day I felt a little sick. On the third day, I was Googling the 'best nausea pills.' I was ready to give up. I had headaches, felt very weak, and didn't eat at all for the next 2 days. I also was sleeping very lightly (I'm a heavy sleeper) and woke up multiple times during the night. That was my first week. In the second week, I was afraid to take 2 pills, but I must say in the second week my body got used to the pills. I'm now coming into my third week. I feel fine. I lost 2 kgs already, but it was mostly from being sick and not eating. I do feel my appetite has lessened a lot. If you can get through the first week, give it a chance. Drink lots of water, exercise, and eat a lot of small portioned healthy meals and snacks, our body still needs its fuel :)"

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "UPDATE: Starting weight 221.6 lbs on April 8th, 5 ft 3 in tall, 47-year-old female, this morning I am 188 lbs. That's 33.6 lbs down basically without exercising. Down from a size 18 shorts to a 14. I have a few clothes that once were too tight and my gut hung over that fit me now. And shorts I bought 4 years ago that I can pull off without unbuttoning. I have jeans from 2004 that I kept that were sentimental and I can almost button without a muffin top. This is why I push on... this is something I never thought I would feel, I look in the mirror and sorta see the old me coming back... it's working for me and my husband can tell you my self-confidence is better than it's been in a LONG time!"

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Like most of you, I was wary of starting Contrave due to bad reviews. Well, I started Contrave on Feb. 12th, 2018, at 250 lbs. Now I've come back to shed a little light in the dark! July 30th, 2018, I'm 155 lbs and so happy. Contrave does do its job, but you have to let it. Don't give up because of headaches and etc. Contrave does come with a lot of side effects, but you have to let your body get used to it. Adapt to the change. It took me a while, but I did do it. Any spare chance I got, I was working out. Even for a few minutes in my bedroom every night. Eating right also helped, fruits, vegetables. I did have the bad constipation and headaches, but I found ways to look past it, and what helped was vitamins, fibers, natural medicines! Anything to keep me pushing forth!! I hope this helped reassure a few people that you can do it - because I did."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 52 and weighed in at 312 lb just 5 weeks ago at my Dr.'s office. My high blood pressure was in check, but I kept gaining a few lbs each year and felt sluggish. What was this 'diet pill' going to do... Nothing to lose, right? I’ve taken weight loss pills before but none since I had bad reactions in my 30s. I was eager to see how science had progressed in 20+ years. So I started taking Contrave and tried to start cutting back on lunch portions and dinner. I usually eat a 6” Subway with chips and a bottle of water. Then eat a Lean Cuisine (or 2) for dinner. I must admit, I’ve been eating a low-calorie treat after dinner and drink a cup of coffee every night. I must be one of the exceptions to the postings here, but I have had little to no side effects at all. After 5 complete weeks, I’ve gone from 312 to 292. That's 20 lbs in 5 weeks!!!! I got the jumpstart I needed. So, I’m not excited about it, but I am going to start exercising now... Ugh."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Day 1: 9am I took my first tablet with breakfast (poached egg on toast). Felt great and went for a 6 k walk. At 1pm I was feeling very nauseous and also very spaced out. Spent 2 hours in bed. At 3:30pm I got up and had some soup and felt fine. Day 2: I was very nervous about taking the tablet again, so I contacted the doctor and she prescribed anti-nausea meds. I took my tablet with beans and toast and drank plenty of water. It is now 2:30pm and I feel fine, I didn’t need to take the anti-nausea medication."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok, I have now been taking Contrave for 12 weeks and the results are amazing. I am down 45 pounds. At the lowest weight in over 25 years and feeling great. I eat what I want, just half of what I used to but also making some smarter food choices, never do I consider myself on a diet. I have lost some weight in each week I have been on Contrave. This is the real deal, I would recommend it to anyone."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Five years ago, I was 200 lbs, 5'4'', size 12/14. I started on Contrave, and 1 year later, I was 50 lbs less & a size 6. Today, I fluctuate between 140-145 lbs & remain size 6. I did go off it for a few months at a time, & when starting to gain, would start back. I had accumulated many bottles, so I do take 1/2 my dose daily. Hopefully, when I run out, I can maintain on my own. I plan to wean down with my last two bottles, as I will not be eligible for refills. Worst side effects: constipation, feeling forgetful/spacy & heartburn (the early days only)."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "UPDATE..SW 259 as of 2/27 CW 255. Today is 3/13 CW 249, yes, this is correct. I can't believe the scale. I am ashamed to admit I still haven't incorporated exercise. For those who are reading this and can't decide based on these comments, you need to try it yourself. I was so afraid to try it after reading what people were experiencing with the symptoms. I have no symptoms, and I am taking 2 pills in the morning and 1 at night. My insurance covered it, so I only paid $30.00 with a coupon for 120 pills. My doctor called and scheduled a 6-week follow-up appointment to see if it's working. We're aiming for 5% OF MY BODY WEIGHT in 6 weeks. At this rate, I will have surpassed that goal. If this pill did not work for me, my next option was surgery."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have a pharmacy background and I have a great doctor. I have had no working thyroid in over 2 decades. We put our heads together after I researched low-dose naltrexone for weight loss and I stumbled into this drug. Myself knowing how Rx coverage usually works or 'doesn't'. We discussed mirroring this drug with the two generic ingredients. One 200 mg bupropion and half of a 50 mg naltrexone in the AM and the same in the PM. Added the bupropion first 2 weeks ago and added the naltrexone today. For those of you that love this drug but simply can't afford it, this option may be worth mentioning to your doctor since 99% of insurance has no problem paying for these cheap drugs. I will post my results weekly in case anyone finds this alternative interesting."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Contrave on Feb 5, 2016. It took me a minute before I actually began to use the medication because I was nervous about the side effects. During that time, I weighed 240 pounds, wearing a size 18 pant size. After speaking with my physician, who is also a weight specialist, he informed me that the side effects would be minor and would not last long. Once I began the medication, I took one pill a day for the first week and 2 for the 2nd week; increasing the dosage until I was taking 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I did suffer from mild headaches and dry mouth during the first 2 weeks, but it went away and I have been doing fine ever since. As of Dec 27, 2016, I can joyously say I am 201 pounds, wearing a size 12 pants."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So I’ve been on Contrave for one week so far. I’m starting on two pills today. Since I started Contrave, I have noticed more energy. Sometimes I have a slight headache, but I don’t know if that’s because of allergy season or not. I have not had any nausea. I have noticed in the last three days that my appetite has decreased. My sugar cravings are also decreased, and I’ve lost 3 lbs this week. I did pay cash for the first prescription. But I found out from Aetna, my medical insurance, that if I get a pre-op form filled out from my doctor, then sent to my insurance company, a person with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or any heart condition, then it would only end up costing me about $65 (depending on the diagnosis) instead of $330. I called my insurance company to find out whether it was covered or not. The doctor was unaware and thought it was only a cash pay medication. So my advice is to check with your insurance company."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm down 17 pounds in 23 days. I have NEVER had this kind of positive result from anything I've tried. I have PCOS so my hormones made losing weight almost impossible. I have found that I've had to play with the dosage a bit... when I got to week 3 where I'm supposed to take 2 pills in the morning and 1 at night, the nausea was intolerable and I wasn't able to sleep at night. I found that taking one in the morning and 1 around 2-3 in the afternoon seems to be my 'sweet spot'. The only side effects are occasional nausea, constipation (easily managed with senna), and extreme dry mouth, which helps with my water intake! I cannot wait to see what results are down the road for me!"

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had been struggling with my weight for the past couple of years, having PCOS and losing all my self-confidence. Went from my fittest 72-75 kg to a whopping 96 kg. It was by chance I was visiting my GP due to carpal tunnel when she then mentioned weight loss could assist with alleviating some of the pain. I started on Contrave, and this pill basically switched off the persistent unhealthy craving voice in my head. I felt nauseated at times, but nothing unbearable-as long as you don’t eat fatty foods. Today, a month from the first pill I took, I have lost 7 kg and gone from size 14 to 12. This medication is helping me reshape my habits and teach my body to be satisfied with less, teach myself to seek comfort in wholesome outlets instead of food. Food is my fuel, not my pleasure, and I am okay with that. I still have 14 kg to go to reach my goal. And I am motivated and excited to keep on going."

Contrave (bupropion / naltrexone) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am exactly 2 months in. I have lost 10 pounds. No, that's not a huge amount like some of the other people you see on here, but I guarantee you that I would have lost ZERO pounds if I hadn't taken this drug. At first, I had some daytime drowsiness and some vivid dreams, but that has gone away. It also causes some constipation, but I have IBS-D, so this actually balanced things out for me, lol. I think this works depending on what your food issue is. I have a bit of an addictive personality, and this has really helped me. I don't obsess over food anymore. I feel like a 'normal' person when it's mealtime. I only eat when I'm actually HUNGRY and not when I'm bored, sad, happy, celebrating, or whatever. I don't mindlessly eat when I'm watching my shows. I don't even think about food at all unless I'm physically hungry. It has really helped me, and I'm excited that I'm finally going down in weight instead of up."
