Buprenorphine / naloxone "This is my personal experience of Suboxone. Now 54, been an addict on heroin until a year ago, done 3 detox clinics absolute no luck but learnt a lot from them. Don't knock it but as for Suboxone I honestly thought I would not see change but wow it kills cravings and the lot. Was an addict for ages and this has totally changed my life. What more can I say. Get on it people before you lose everything like I did."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "My experience. Man, I've used heroin since I was 16 years old. Finally found Suboxone 7 years ago. Started at three 8 mg strips a day. I still used here and there. Two years ago, I was put on Zubsolv after having weaned myself a little over the years. I was put on an 8.6 a day, equal to a 12, and I have never used since being on it. I feel great, make 80 grand a year, have no side effects besides my teeth, but now have implants. The world is an awesome place. Zubsolv saved me. I was still using 4 out of 7 days with the strips, now I won't even answer my phone to old drug friends. It's a whole new life."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "After I became hopelessly addicted to morphine and hydromorphone, I found myself living in squalor, dropped out of university, and was on my way to eviction and homelessness. I had tried tapering down myself, going cold turkey at home, and even a few detox facilities. Nothing would stick. And most of the time, I couldn't make it past 48 hours until I'd crawl back to the pills again. I'm in my early twenties and didn't see myself living to 30, let alone getting back in school. Another addict suggested methadone, and after a year on that, I was switched to Suboxone. I feel like myself now. I'm back in university finishing my degree and forever grateful to Suboxone for saving me."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I too took Suboxone to treat opiate withdrawal, and it truly is a miracle drug. However, after 7 years of being on Suboxone daily, I'm now dependent on this. The withdrawals are just as bad as withdrawing from any opiate, and some say worse. So my advice to you from my own experience is to immediately start tapering off Suboxone the second you start taking it. My first attempt using Suboxone only took 3 days of usage, I stopped before my body became dependent, and for a month after, I felt perfect. I then started taking it regularly out of fear of relapsing with opiates. Now I'm haunted by the fact I'm totally dependent on Suboxone. It's a very strong drug, and I personally think it is way over-prescribed dosage-wise."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I have been on Suboxone for 3 days now, and so far, it's amazing. I have zero cravings or withdrawals. I hope I can finally kick my addiction with Suboxone, I was taking 200 mg of oxycodone a day. The doctor put me on 8 mg a day, and so far, so good."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "Struggled with addiction for 30 years, 4 times in treatment, lost jobs, career, family, addiction runs in my family. It is literally a slow taker of your life. Discovered Suboxone and went into the program. I can function again! Has been a lifesaver for me. Been in it for a little over a year. Changes in my life have been dramatic for the better. Taking 8 mg daily. I hear people saying you traded one addiction for another, they don't understand the difference between active addiction and physical dependence on a medication. Those of you suffering from addiction know what I mean... all those terrible consequences! Doctor is talking about time for tapering off. Really scared me, but we will see. All I know is my life changed, no more hamster on the wheel, always running and going nowhere but the downward spiral. I would rather be dependent than in active addiction."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I just want to say that this medication is a Godsend. The 24-hour waiting period before was pure hell, but I needed that to remember the pain that I had caused myself. This has truly been a turning point in my life. Thanks."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I've been a heroin addict for 13 years. I've tried methadone and Subutex, and now I'm taking just Suboxone and on Suboxone maintenance. Through treatment and staying dedicated, I am 5 months clean. I take 16 mg (2 strips) per day, every day. It has worked miracles. I don't get many cravings for heroin. I felt so hopeless, and it's the best choice I've made in my life in years."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I'm only 20, but I've already developed a pretty serious skag habit, had a mild OD just two days ago (woke up before EMTs arrived), and that was the last straw. Tried 10 times to quit in the last 2 months, but I'm a pussy and could never get past the second day. Luckily, after I OD'd, I received the right resources to quit once and for all. Today was my first day on Suboxone after going to a clinic that is truly a godsend. I was able to walk in without an appointment and walked out with a 7-day supply (look for clinics with multiple doctors so you don't have to wait to get in). Anyway, I feel FANTASTIC. The withdrawals and cravings are completely gone. Took 30 minutes to start to feel and about an hour to really kick in. I feel normal! Bless this drug!"

Buprenorphine / naloxone "Some users seem to be confused about this medication. It is a true opioid, the same as fentanyl or natural opiates like morphine. It could be considered natural in the same way as codeine and morphine, as it's made from thebaine, a naturally occurring alkaloid in the poppy. It is very, very addictive, the same as the others. Yes, we are trading one addiction for another in the same class of drugs. The major difference is that we don't have to visit dangerous areas of town or sick dealers who adulterate the product. We can go about our lives just like any non-addict in society. There is also the antidepressant property due to the kappa activity. You will have typical withdrawal symptoms if you stop suddenly. And just so you know, you do get a bit of a buzz from the stuff. More a feeling of everything is okay now."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I am an ex-heroin user for over ten long years. After many trips to jail, trying to get sober cold turkey, I relapsed over and over. I tried methadone for a couple of years, weaned off, and relapsed again. After losing my mother and having a daughter of my own, and another trip to detox, I finally found Suboxone. Now clean for 2 and a half years, I'm coming off slowly. It's scary because I'm so used to being 'on' something, but it's honestly worked the best for me. I would refer Suboxone to anyone ready to get their life back. Thanks, Suboxone. 2 and a half years sober and counting."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I was on oxycodone 30 mg x 6 = 180 mg for 7 years. At the end of 5 years, I added 50 mg daily of methadone at night. Started Suboxone 3 months ago and stopped 180 mg oxy plus 50 mg methadone. 12 mg Suboxone once a day is making me normal again and without any problems."

"I've been on Suboxone for about 5 years. I started out with the brand name, then switched to the Sandoz due to my insurance, which were pretty decent, but these last ones from Alvogen in the yellow wrappers were absolutely horrible. I started going through withdrawal the first week! I'm not sure how it's even legal for them to put people through this just to save a dollar. I am now trying the tablets to see how well they work, but honestly, I don't see it going much better, unfortunately."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I just started my Suboxone treatment. After years of heavy oxycodone use. At my worst, I was doing six to eight 30 mg oxys per day! I quit cold turkey once I revealed my problem to my family, had the worst week of my life from the withdrawal, as you can imagine given my amount and length of use. After 6 months of relapsing here and there and having constant terrible cravings, I finally got on Suboxone. From day one, this has been a lifesaving med for me. My cravings are gone, I don’t drink alcohol, and my outlook on life is a million times better. If you are having a rough time with addiction, then please seek help and know that Suboxone literally saved my life."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "For 5 years, I was taking up to eight 30 mg Roxicodone daily. I've been researching Suboxone for almost 2 years, but was always too scared to make the switch. Well, in January of this year, I decided to go for it, and so far it was the best decision I ever made. On the day of my induction, I waited 24 hours from my last Roxy dose and took a full strip. I waited about 10 minutes and didn't feel much relief, so then I took another one, and within 5 minutes I felt great. I think I needed two strips because of the high amount of Roxy I was on. Anyways, less than 5 months later, I'm taking 4 mg a day, and SO FAR I FEEL GREAT!! I am more motivated, I got most of my libido back, I'm not as constipated, I HAVE ZERO WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS. I feel much better, and my mind is much clearer than it's been in a long time. So for anyone who has agonized over taking Suboxone and is scared to make the switch, all I can say is DO IT. If you don't like it, you can always go back, but you gotta try."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I was a heroin addict for the past 5 years. I was in and out of detox 6-7 times. I never wanted to be on Suboxone outside of detox because of the horror stories I had heard. This medication saved my life. I got clean on January 1 of this year (checked into detox again on Dec 31-yes, New Year's Eve). I decided this time to stay on the medication following discharge. It has completely changed my life. I am still clean, on a low dose and tapering off at a pace that's comfortable for me. I didn't sleep for maybe 2 weeks after returning home, but that was due to the fact that heroin used to put me to sleep. I am a mother to my son and daughter again thanks to Suboxone."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I really have probably been addicted for the last 30 years, but some life-changing things happened that I became out of control. My daughter was murdered, and I got a divorce, and my life became unmanageable, and I was dying day by day. Finally, on the 7th of January 2015, I went into the hospital and started on Suboxone. It was like a new life for me. I no longer look for pain pills every day. It has been almost a year, and it has been so wonderful to not be chasing pills every day. Thank you, Dr., and Suboxone for giving me my life back."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I was on methadone for 10 years, quitting cold turkey at 80 mg in December 2015. I lasted about 4 days, then started using heroin again. On January 2, I went into detox, got out on the 10th, and was still in withdrawal from the methadone. I went 3 weeks struggling really bad, started shooting again, then finally gave Suboxone a try 1 week ago. I feel amazing besides the constant sweats I get. Methadone withdrawal is the worst withdrawal I ever experienced. I know I'm not looking to come off Suboxone. I know for me that I will always need 'something.' If I can take a legally prescribed medication that will help me not to shoot heroin and make my life unmanageable, then I will continue to take it. So far, Suboxone has done good by me, why would I stop it?"

Buprenorphine / naloxone "UPDATE: I originally posted on Nov 16th, 2010 that on Jan 3rd, 2011 will be 3 YEARS CLEAN. WELL, I MADE IT! No relapses. Not one OPIATE has passed through these lips since I started on Suboxone. And I no longer have to LIE, CHEAT, STEAL, and MANIPULATE my family and friends to support a 30-50 pills/day Vicodin ES habit. If you're on the fence about Suboxone, take the leap...you'll have nothing to regret. You'll be able to mend your mind, your soul, and your relationships and get YOUR LIFE BACK."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I have had great success with Zubsolv! I started out on Suboxone films, but the taste just got to be too much for me, so my doctor put me on Zubsolv instead. In my experience, it is way better, and I just celebrated my one-year clean anniversary. I am clean and enjoying life. Please ask me any questions you have, if any, I would love to help!!! :)"

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I have been a heroin user for 10 plus years. I started on Suboxone maintenance and switched doctors when I found out my current one did not provide long-term buprenorphine therapy. My new doctor switched me over to Zubsolv, as it is recommended over Suboxone for a long-term maintenance program as it has a much higher bioavailability than Suboxone - the results are incredible. I noticed an increase in energy almost instantly, as well as a HUGE reduction in cravings/thoughts/drug dreams. I take the 5.7 twice a day and am proud to say I have been clean with that dose for over a year now. I do not feel like I am gaining a tolerance, or that it’s not working as well as before (this was a major problem with Suboxone in the past for me). I’m working, going to the gym 3x a week (1.5-mile walk there too!), taking full care of my toddler as well as household duties. I have never done this well in my life. I’m so grateful for this medication allowing me to live a normal, productive life."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I literally just started this medication today. My doc prescribed it for me since he and I agreed that I had reached a point with my back pain where the opiates just weren't as helpful. Been on them 8 years. 200 mgs a day. I took my last pill yesterday at 3 pm. I woke up and took my first tablet at 9:30 am. No withdrawal at all! None! I feel strange... a little warm and like everything is a bit surreal, but I am so grateful that the thought of a pain pill hasn't even entered my mind. It actually sounds repellent. I can't say yet how well it is for pain, but before I went on it, I really wanted to know what the BEGINNING would be like... and it's been easy! I am so happy. To be free of oxy for even almost 24 hours is amazing to me. I encourage anyone to try this who is stuck in the vicious circle of opiate dependence. I want my life back. I think this may be the way."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "I started taking Suboxone (Bupe/Naloxone) 8 mg strips 6 months ago, and now I am down to 4 mg. Trust me when I tell you that this drug will save your life if you have an opiate addiction, but you must follow your doc's orders. I was snorting 5-10 30 mg oxycodone's (roxi's) a day, and heroin when desperate. Opiates ruined my life, I lost EVERYTHING! Now I am back in college full-time and got my life back. If you are dealing with opiate addiction, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with a Suboxone doctor and seek out counseling. This drug works if taken responsibly."

Buprenorphine / naloxone "2nd time detoxing. After using heroin for roughly 3 months, I was approaching a 0.5 - 0.7 a day habit. I started on Suboxone again. This time, total Suboxone time was 8 months. I started at 8, dropped to 6 within a month, and stayed at 6 for about 3-4 months while working. I dropped to 4 mg for about 30-45 days. From here, I did a rapid taper. Once at 2 mg, I stayed at 2 for about 3 weeks, then dropped to 1 mg for about 1 week (started feeling sluggish and had a major lack of energy but no sickness). From there, I spent 1 week at 0.5 mg, experienced no energy and no sickness still. Finally, I spent 1 week at 0.25 mg of a film, basically a speck, still no energy but still no sickness. From the jump off: days 1 and 2, absolutely no energy but no sickness, and I ate food. Day 3, 75% normal. I took motion sickness pills and valerian root."
