For Inflammatory Bowel Disease "Anyone experienced nausea, weakness, and loss of appetite from Entocort? I have been on this for a week for MC flare-up, but these side effects, along with the abdominal cramps, are intolerable. Anyone experienced these effects?"

For Autoimmune Hepatitis "I have been taking budesonide Entocort since Feb 1, 2011. It was prescribed by my hepatologist for the treatment of my autoimmune hepatitis. Nothing else I have taken has worked effectively (prednisone gave me ocular migraines along with azathioprine (nausea). Cellcept was tolerated but wasn't effective. Prograf (for transplant patients) did not work either, and I had too many side effects (ended up getting shingles). I do have problems with dizziness, but this is the only medicine that has brought my liver values down. I have noticed red rashes that come and go. Medicine is very expensive, but fortunately, my insurance covers the majority of it."

For Inflammatory Bowel Disease "I have been on budesonide 9 mg for nearly 2 weeks. The diarrhea slowed down after a couple of days. I have been very sick on and off this last week. Stomach pain, nausea, headache, weakness, insomnia. I have read the side effects just now and realized that it is the tablet that is making me so sick. Going O/S in 2 weeks, and I am extremely worried."

Budesonide for Ulcerative Colitis "Been using Balsalazide 3x3 for 9 years or so, with occasional flare-ups I could resolve with slight overdosing. Could not resolve the present flare-up. After a month of 4 bowel motions a day, blood, diarrhea, the doc started me on Uceris. Next day, change to 1 bowel motion, no blood, slight diarrhea. Now, 1 week later, pretty normal 1 bowel motion per day, with occasional nausea in the abdomen. I think pretty good for a week. But the price is outrageous, and even my copay is $75 a month. Doc insists on giving it to me for 3 months."

For Autoimmune Hepatitis "Changed to budesonide from prednisolone as I couldn't tolerate the side effects of the pred. I've been taking 3 mg of budesonide for autoimmune hepatitis for the past 5 weeks. I'm feeling very tired to the point of exhaustion, nauseous, bruising easily, moon face, and various other mild aches and pains and feeling very low-spirited. Some days worse than others. Hoping to come off this drug soon, but worried about feeling worse through the reduction phase."

For Inflammatory Bowel Disease "I have been on this drug for 3 months. Went through a regimen and weaned off. Began to have diarrhea immediately. Went back on one budesonide 3 mg pill. I have no appetite, have weakness, and nausea. Going to get off this pill and see if I can get to feeling better. I don’t think you are supposed to stay on this steroid."

For Crohn's Disease "I've been taking 3 capsules of 3 mg a day for 5 weeks to help manage my Crohn's before taking a biological shot. So far, I haven't noticed any difference, and it doesn't seem to be helping. The side effects are starting to get bad. I'm getting dizzy all the time and have started to get nauseous and even started throwing up. I get daily headaches too (calling my doctor soon to get off of it)."

"Made me feel much better. I am being treated for sarcoidosis, granulomas in the lymph nodes. After just 24 hours of starting with 3 capsules every morning. Before, I had nausea, feeling full after a very small amount of food, discomfort in the abdomen after even a drink of water! I lost 30 lbs in 4 months!"

Budesonide for Ulcerative Colitis "No. I will never take this again. It has caused nausea, stomach pain, fatigue, broken sleep, and whatever else wasn’t already bad enough with my flare."
