Budesonide for Ulcerative Colitis, Active "I was excited when I 1st heard about Uceris' approval for ulcerative colitis. I started taking it, and the 1st few days I felt pretty good with minimal bathroom trips, stomach upset, etc. After about 3 days, things got worse and worse each day I took the medicine. It started as constant cramping and stomach pain, and slowly having very urgent bathroom needs. I had to stop taking Uceris because it made all my symptoms worse. So know that going in, that it can help you, but it also might make your situation worse."

Budesonide for Inflammatory Bowel Disease "This medicine changed my life. I have taken it for 2 years, but now I have no health insurance and can't afford it. I have severe cramping and constant diarrhea. Food is repulsive to me, and I am losing weight like crazy. I sure do miss it."

Budesonide for Ulcerative Colitis, Active "This drug Uceris may have initially helped, but as time went (the 2nd week or earlier) on, it caused so much cramping, gas, bloating, pain, and throwing up each day with my urgent other reasons for trips to the bathroom (and I had to have a bucket on my lap while dealing with the aftermath on both ends, being violently ill). To have so much added pain to my already active flare was horrifying. I believe the time-release part of the drug is to blame, as I’ve taken budesonide in the form of Entocort prior with decent results. I know it works for some people, and that’s great, but others can’t tolerate the time release, which was toxic to me."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I am on this for microscopic collagenous colitis. What about UTI symptoms? Anyone? Been on just over 3 weeks, symptoms improved, and 5 more weeks to go (3 tablets 3 mg each = 9 mg per day, taking all at once in the AM), and then started having UTI symptoms. Sometimes incontinence (not making it to the BR in time) and low back on the right side cramping/throbbing. Urine sample resulted in NO UTI, but general PA doc telehealth over the weekend prescribed antibiotic and that stuff that turns urine orange. It worked pretty quickly, and now they messaged me through the Atrium portal that I do not have UTI, apparently, they did a culture, but who knows, and to stop taking the antibiotic! I don't want to stop taking it... it's only a 5-day thing and I have 3 more days. I am confused if budesonide can mimic a UTI. This stuff is so crazy! Anyone have the same issue? How does it resolve? Thank you."

For Crohn's Disease "After taking it for a week, I have diarrhea and cramps. I take one in the morning before breakfast, one before lunch, and one before dinner. I better take prednisone. Wondering how many days it takes to take effect. Before that, I had a three-week flare, now, 8 days it flares, and it is expensive too."

For Ulcerative Colitis, Active "I am able to consume food and liquids without vomiting or experiencing blood in the toilet. This is the first time in nearly ten years that I have been able to maintain a weight of 85 lbs or above. However, there are several side effects that come with this accomplishment. These side effects include a persistent runny nose for the past three months, mood swings and suicidal thoughts that make it difficult to sleep and enjoy life, constipation that lasts for 4-7 days, and unbearable bloating, cramping, and gas pains. Despite taking 290 mcg of Linzess, my irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) remains the only condition left to plague me. Other unpleasant side effects include adult acne, migraines, Bartholin cysts, skipped periods (despite having gained weight), unexplained bruises and cuts that refuse to heal despite not being anemic, and thin skin on my face resulting in bleeding lines around my mouth and eyebrows if I try to groom them. During a recent out-of-town trip where I was without my medication for three days, I suffered a full-body edema attack that lasted for ten days. The process of tapering off my medication is also incredibly difficult and not to be taken lightly. I am counting down the days until I no longer have to endure these side effects, as they are taking a severe toll on my mental and physical health. I will never subject myself to this medication again."

"My microscopic colitis symptoms have improved-not as much diarrhea, less bloody stools. I definitely have some nasal drainage, cramps in my feet and calves, and my vertigo is worse."

For Inflammatory Bowel Disease "Anyone experienced nausea, weakness, and loss of appetite from Entocort? I have been on this for a week for MC flare-up, but these side effects, along with the abdominal cramps, are intolerable. Anyone experienced these effects?"
