For High Blood Pressure "WARNING! Edarbi is an extremely effective drug, and this can cause a dangerous side effect if you are not careful. I don't think the doctors realize this yet, but if you take Edarbi and do hard physical labor where you are sweating a lot, it is critical that you drink lots of water before, during, and after the physical activity, or you can get life-threatening low blood pressure. The combined Edarbi, lower water in blood, and exercise all amplify to crash your BP, and you can pass out or worse. This drug may not be ideal if you do sports. Even low 10 mg doses are strong enough for some people to get dangerously low BP readings when doing vigorous exercise, so just be aware and consider not taking a dose before prolonged exertion. Other than that, this is the most effective BP medication I have ever taken, even at low doses. It just may work too well for some people in strong exercise situations, so be aware and hydrate a ton."

For High Blood Pressure "Works very well at keeping my blood pressure in check, but be careful for the dizziness it can cause. I will pop up out of my chair at work, or off the couch at home, start walking, and then nearly drop to the floor because the dizziness overcomes me! Stand up slowly!"

For High Blood Pressure "I have been on a variety of different BP meds for over 35 years. The Edarbi keeps it low or even too low, and I am often extremely fatigued and feel dizzy. I do better if I skip taking it for a day. The worst for me is the stiffness, muscle aches, and excruciating joint pain in my ankles, knees, elbows, and back. I feel certain it is from this drug or that it has caused some kind of autoimmune response or possibly gout. This whole scenario started after three weeks of taking Edarbi, and that is the only drug I am on. I struggled to even walk the other day while shopping, which is unheard of for me. Headed to see the doctor next week before I throw out the remaining pills. At this point, I would rather try to lower it naturally and take my chances... feeling like a crippled invalid is not my thing. I am 66 years old and have been active and healthy my entire life."

For High Blood Pressure "Writing this on behalf of my aunt Stella. She is a healthy, robust 87-year-old female. She is active, rides her bicycle, prepares all of her own meals, is on a strict Mediterranean diet inspired by the Greek Islands, Chios, Koz, and Lesbos. As is often the case, she is plied by multiple physicians with as many pharmaceuticals as they can justify. The most recent is Edarbi. She has gone from an active elder to a doped-out zombie. Definitely do NOT recommend. Needless to say, we have confiscated the drug and will report back in a few days with the outcome."

For High Blood Pressure "I was on Edarbi for about 18 months, and it did what it was supposed to do. I was on 10 mg a day. But I started to have trouble with my potassium spiking into very high numbers. The last two weeks have been a nightmare. Muscle spasms, itching, burning, cramps in my joints, and sudden shooting pain all over. I stopped taking Edarbi, it has been 4 days now, and I'm still experiencing the symptoms, especially at night when I go to bed. The burning worsens around my ankles and joints in my wrist. I have tried so many other drugs to help lower my BP. I don't know what is going to happen. But I do know Edarbi is not for me."

For High Blood Pressure "It kept my BP normal, sometimes too low, but has overall been a nightmare - rapid continuous weight gain, extreme fatigue, extreme edema, and even kidney and fertility issues. I stopped taking it and I lost over 10 lbs in 1 week, but my blood pressure rose. I decreased to 1/4 tab, and it still kept my BP normal. This drug, as prescribed to me, was bad for my body in so many ways. Yes, it controls your BP, but it can also ruin your life by causing other problems. Like my new nephrologist stated, medications are controlled poisons. I realize now how toxic this drug can be and plan to get completely off of it after losing more of the weight. Now, diuretics alone won't control my BP. It's as if my BP became dependent on this drug. Edarbi may work for some, but it has been a nightmare for me. Reported side effects to the FDA and manufacturer. The drug has made me lose 3 years of productivity in my life. Beware!"

For High Blood Pressure "This drug was almost the end of me. After having blood clots in my lungs, two heart attacks, and a stroke. I gained 50 pounds from the swelling. It’s taken three years of my life. My kidneys are in stage four. Please, if there’s somebody out there, keep putting messages like this, maybe a class action suit will come to it. And hopefully I’ll still be alive to do it."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been taking Losartan 50 mg for 10 years. I had eclampsia with my second baby and never went back to normal. 5'10'', 158 lbs, very active 45-year-old woman. I exercise and am on a low-salt diet for years. It stopped working, and my cardiologist put me on Edarbi 80 mg. Worst drug I've tried. I've been on it for 3 weeks. My BP is getting higher and higher. Last reading of 180/100 today. From the second dose, I've had chest pressure, shortness of breath, really bad back pain, left arm pain, fluttering in my heart. I had never had any of these symptoms before. The only thing that has changed was Edarbi. I'm really scared and seeing my doctor tomorrow to stop this drug immediately. Not worked for me :("

For High Blood Pressure "This Edarbi is the 3rd medicine they have tried on me. Bad side effects. By far, this is the worst. I thought it was going to be the end of me!!!! Numbers went very low, 90/50, so went on half dose. Still low. The drug made me tired and totally fatigued. Lightheaded, also jittery feeling. Nausea, muscle spasms very severe. My pulse/heart rate would spike up to 155!!! The severe side effects did not begin until about the 5th week. Headaches were unbearable!! This drug has threatened my life!!! I stopped it, I'd rather take my chances with fasting and natural remedies!!"

For High Blood Pressure "I've been having significantly higher BP on my right side. July 2018, a cardiologist gave me Edarbi samples, low dose, can't remember what it was. After the first week, I didn't feel any changes. After 7 days, I developed severe muscle weakness. Could not get around, had to use a walking cane. Weak muscles everywhere there is muscle tissue. I stopped Edarbi immediately, felt only slight improvement but never recovered completely. Later, my primary diagnosed PMR. I'm too young for it, never had it before. I'm absolutely sure Edarbi caused it."

For High Blood Pressure "The best BP med I have used in 25 years. Stopped losartan potassium 100 mg due to migraines and poor BP reduction. Started 40 mg of Edarbi 7 weeks ago. BP is best it has been in years. Went from 4 migraine-free days a month to only 4 migraines last month. Hope this trend continues!!"

For High Blood Pressure "Have never felt the same since being on Edarbi. Numbers went low, so went on half dose. Still low. The drug made me tired and totally fatigued. Lightheaded, also jittery feeling. I stopped it a week ago and hope it leaves my system soon. Also had tummy problems with it."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been taking 40 mg of Edarbi for about 3 weeks, noticed weight gain (miserable in my clothes), and back and side pain. Also, my demeanor has gone down, more like depression! Stopped the medication and will have to find some other blood pressure medication."

For High Blood Pressure "Started Edarbi a week ago after getting off of Losartan because of bad muscle cramps. My blood pressure has never been better, 120/74. But I barely could move because of being so tired. Bad headache and overall out of it. I couldn’t even drive. I tried splitting the pill and took half. Same result. Not for me at all."

For High Blood Pressure "I’m 43, and this is the first BP medicine I’ve ever been on. I’ve been on 40 mg/day for the past 5 days, and I am going to have to stop. I am so absolutely exhausted it is unbearable. And diarrhea on top of it. I gave it a 2 because it does lower my BP."

For High Blood Pressure "I took it upon myself to seek out a cardiologist who is known as more respected in the cause and cure of high blood pressure. After an office visit, the doctor prescribed two drugs, one being Edarbi 80, I began the regimen. Edarbi has turned me upside down. I can't believe the side effects from Edarbi are such that I went into deep depression and anxiety, and my BP numbers weren't too much lower than with my primary doctor's regimen. I cannot sleep longer than 2 to 4 hours a night, and I am tired to the point of exhaustion. I am getting off Edarbi 40/25 immediately and try to get off these drugs that may help a very few individuals who, because they believe a doctor, will suffer long-term and severe mental and physical psychosis and may harbor suicidal thoughts. Don't be a guinea pig."

For High Blood Pressure "Tried this drug for 5 days. Nausea, dizziness, headache, brain fog. First day was okay, symptoms got worse every day afterwards. Went to the doctor because my head hurt so bad. Doctor took me off and put me back on Diovan. Insurance will not pay for Diovan but will pay for Edarbi, which costs more than Diovan."

For High Blood Pressure "I went on Edarbi 40 mg for 2 weeks with had up and down spikes, muscle pain in back, neck, and joints. DR increased it to 80 mg, developed chest pains with the other pains. Ended up in ER, kept overnight and given a stress test. After the stress test, I developed severe chest pain and EKG showed a problem. Now waiting for angiogram and taken off Edarbi, and put on Ramipril 5 mg X 2 a day. The angiogram is a 3 to 6 week wait!"

For High Blood Pressure "I had used over 15 different medicines trying to control my high blood pressure. Either they would not work or give me undesirable side effects. Ever since my doctor prescribed Edarbi and Edarbyclor, my pressure has stayed around 120/70, great news for me and my doctor. It had got to the point she could not find any other medication to prescribe. Another thing I like about this is that even though they are relatively new, they are not as expensive as I would expect."

For High Blood Pressure "It is a bit pricey, but has been very effective at keeping my blood pressure in check. My readings have been very consistent. I take the 80 mg, and I have not experienced any side effects at all. I haven't had any insurance, but I get it for $39 with a prescription discount card. I will see how the cost is when I get Medicare D."

For High Blood Pressure "Overweight, binge eating disorder, 58, sedentary female. On Bisoprolol/HCTZ 2.5-6.25 mg. Dr. added Edarbi 40 mg. At about 2 weeks, I developed a bizarre side effect, I found food repulsive. I was having to force myself to eat. The food pictures in my head or thoughts of food were gone. Mouth sensation intensified, so I could only put a small amount of food in my mouth and then would chew and chew and did not want to swallow. Sides of tongue had a weird sensation. I also noticed mild nausea. Another week, and I was dizzy, extreme muscle weakness, and had a burning numb sensation in my right thigh, deep pain in my right calf, and transient intense pain in my knees and ankles. My doctor cut the dose to 1/2 then 1/4, but eventually, we stopped the med entirely. After 2 weeks off, I feel more in touch, but the binge eating returned with the pictures of food in my head and normal sensation in my mouth. The thigh burning and numbness are still there. Not really sure it did anything for my BP."

For High Blood Pressure "I am 69, insulin diabetic, ileostomate for UC over 30 years, stage 3 CKD. My insurance company sent me a letter discontinuing valsartan 160 (took 2x a day with HCTZ 13.5 and Coreg). I also take 100 mcg of Synthroid. My doctor gave samples of Edarbi 80. Fatigue, sleepiness, weight gain, and blurry vision worsened in the past three weeks. My insurance only allows one dose a day of Edarbi and has informed me that since I am low income, my copay will not increase, so I am not planning to reduce Edarbi or spread it out. I sometimes delay taking my once-a-day dose for up to sixteen hours due to low BP, and when it does rise, the systolic takes longer to come down on Edarbi than on valsartan. I take K supplements."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been on the drug for a few weeks at night only 80 mg. I am experiencing some swelling, dizziness, and problems sleeping, but the worst is I developed tinnitus the day I started taking it, and it never stops. I don’t see any mention of that side effect. It is controlling high numbers at night and often drops very low during the day when I’m active."

For High Blood Pressure "Active in my 40s and tried other BPs, but they never worked well. Tried Edarbi by cutting the 40 mg in half and taking 20 mg/day, and BP plummeted to 120/70. It has a much greater affinity for the angiotensin receptor and for a much longer period than any other ARB, which is why it is the best, thus, you don't need much for it to work. Side effects are dizziness if you bend over for a bit and then stand up. You can get briefly lightheaded, so you need to not move to make sure you don't fall down if that happens. Other than that, none, but I also take half the lowest dose."

For High Blood Pressure "Heaven sakes! I'm reading complaints about side effects and am wondering if they tried cutting the pills?! I get the 20mg tablet, use a pill cutter and cut them into quarters! My blood pressure is perfect, no side effects and this is a good med for me to keep my kidneys healthy! Please don't give it up without getting the dose right! I don't have any side effects! Will someone tell these doctors to get the dosage right??? They should be starting with the 20mg to see how it does! Common sense!"
