"I used it once for DVT while in the hospital. Experienced severe dizziness and headache on the left side of my head all day and an overall ill feeling. I decided not to take it. I used Xarelto in the past for PE with no major side effects and will most likely go back to this."

"Been on Eliquis for about a month, and they found a blood clot in my vein leading to my ovary, which is now gone, but the side effects are horrible. I’ve been extremely tired, no energy, headaches, gaining weight, swollen ankles and legs, dizzy, can’t concentrate. Was taking 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg at night, which was even worse because I felt like passing out, blood pressure dropped real low, and I was really dizzy, so they cut it down to 5 mg in the morning and 5 mg at night, so side effects didn’t change much. I want off this medicine."

"I started taking it immediately after being diagnosed with DVT (etiology unknown, and I am very low-risk). I was hobbling around Day 1. By Day 15, I was quite ambulatory. Day 20, back to my bicycle with no pain but still can't walk more than 400 yards or stand for more than 5 minutes without discomfort. Day 29 (today), the swelling is still there but has subsided quite a bit. I take pictures of my calf to chart progress, and there has been progress, though still several months to go. There have been almost zero side effects, a slight amount of lightheadedness."

"For me, eating snow peas, string beans, and salads... NO, NO on Eliquis. Every body is different. What works on one does not necessarily work for another. I had more leg pain. In fact, it was more difficult to walk. I stopped eating the green stuff and in a few days was able to walk better. I tried eating green vegetables again, and the pain returned. I stopped eating the green vegetables and was able to walk better. Just my experience with Eliquis and green vegetables."

"I have been using Eliquis for nearly 2.5 years after a second DVT and bilateral embolism. Have just had minor discomfort, lost weight, and am still working. After I came home from the hospital due to lockdown, I'm back at work now. Do get a headache every now and then, but I put this down to the stress of the job. But so far, everything's okay."

"I had blood clots in my right leg. Started taking Eliquis on 09/16/21 and will complete the medication on 12/16/21. This medication works very well for my situation (I am a renal transplant recipient). Apparently, this medication is also responsible for lowering my blood sugar levels, also."

"DVT right calf, unknown cause, started on Xarelto, switched to Eliquis after one month due to concerns I had from research. The only side effect is constant aching in my arms and hands that interferes with sleep. Tylenol helps some. I hope to be off this medication, but am grateful for it. Waiting for test results to see if the cause requires this medication."

"Had blood clots develop in leg while traveling once and while flying once. The Eliquis helped to save me several times. Back in the old days, would've been hospitalized, and who knows what could've happened if the clot broke free. I'm reading on here there are a lot of side effects. So I'm not sure if I will take this any longer since reading all of the side effects on this message forum..."

"My son was put on Eliquis one week ago for a DVT in his leg. He is asplenic from 6 years ago. He got babesiosis microti from a tick bite. He was diagnosed on June 30th, 2021. His DVT was ascertained on July 16 after his second hospitalization. He was admitted on July 21st for chest pain when breathing. It was not cardiac-related throughout the whole hospitalization process. It was clearly pain on taking breaths, which required him to do shallow breathing. His pain was in his chest that went to the left shoulder. Eliquis was started on 7/16/2021, and his symptoms started on the evening of July 20th. He is 30 years old this past May 2021. Just curious if the Eliquis is responsible or an additional factor that caused this to happen. I am acutely aware that the babesiosis microti is an extremely life-threatening illness for somebody who is without a spleen."

"I developed DVT in my left leg behind my knee three weeks ago. They immediately put me on Eliquis 10 mg twice a day first week, 5 mg twice a day continuing. The first couple of days, I broke out in a crazy rash around my neck and chest. It looked like I had been burnt, it was so red, but I could see the bumps. The next day, my legs felt so weak, almost shaky, but this past week, I walked a quarter of a mile up and back with my dog with little issue. But now today, day five, my left buttock feels like it’s on fire and this has kicked my sciatica. I suffer from severe bone disease and fibromyalgia, so that may be coming from these things, but it sure beats screaming in the middle of the night because my leg hurts so bad I can’t stand it. My cheek has to burn for a day or so. It’s still worth it, even though it hurts. I am on pain meds, so that does ease the ache a little bit. Still again, it beats screaming your head off in pain and being afraid to rub my leg at my knee area for fear of breaking the blood clot off."
