Amphetamine for ADHD "33-year-old male. I have been off and on stimulants my whole life. I take Lamictal, Cymbalta, Xanax, and Evekeo. Evekeo has been an excellent medication for me, and it just went generic, which is a huge plus. I don't get the tunnel vision that Adderall gave me, or the extremely anxious and depressed feelings I got from Adderall. Ritalin made my body, even my bones, ache. I felt like I had the flu, and it actually made me less effective. Vyvanse made my blood pressure extremely high, and I felt like I metabolized the dose extremely fast. I felt somewhat manic on the medication. I take 30 mg of Evekeo, 10, 3x per day."

Amphetamine for ADHD "Vyvanse gave me a dependency on it, and after a while, it stopped working as well, and the insomnia and irritability worsened. Then, insurance stopped covering it, so I switched to Adderall and loved it for a while because it made me feel high. My mom thought it made me irritable and made me switch. I love Evekeo now because of the control I have with when and how much I take. No side effects so far! I can also tell I am thinking more before I speak and don't feel like an addict."

Amphetamine for ADHD "Adzenys XR-ODT gave me great, smooth, long-lasting effects. I’ve had a bit of an increase in physical anxiety/agitation, but that’s largely subsided. Also had some difficulty falling asleep, but I stopped having this effect within 2 weeks. I’m honestly amazed that I have absolutely zero crash with Adzenys, even as I’ve increased my dose a bit. I’ve always experienced crashes with ADD drugs until I found Adzenys."

Amphetamine for ADHD "This medication works so well for me and my family. Easy to take, easy to transport, and little to no side effects. A little dry mouth initially, but after a week or so, that cleared up. For only $25, it can't be beat."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I have bipolar I disorder with psychotic and depressive features and a diagnosis of ADHD. I take meds for all three conditions. I take Vyvanse 50 mg in the AM. When that wears off, I take Evekeo 10 mg twice every 4-5 hours, PM. I also take my stimulants with Ativan as I also have anxiety too. Evekeo is perfect for me. It doesn't make me feel hyper, nor does it give me that 'high' feeling. It normalizes me, and I can actually be driven and calm at the same time. Since I take two stimulants, you're probably wondering how in the world. All I can say is that Vyvanse doesn't last all day long for me, so I supplement with Evekeo. I take Evekeo once Vyvanse wears out. I'm happy with them both."

Amphetamine for ADHD "The only ADHD medication I have taken that doesn't have awful side effects. It makes you more alert and productive without the headaches and hungover feeling that I get with Adderall and Focalin. I don't think it affects everyone the same, but it has been a real lifesaver for me."

Amphetamine for ADHD "Adzenys is the first stimulant medicine I've ever tried. I went through a very bad depression from a car accident, and working out, eating right, and trying every antidepressant just made me even more depressed. Since taking Adzenys, I'm back to my old happy, energetic self! I don't have ADD or ADHD, so I can't comment on that, but I do know this has helped me get over most of my depression and helped me to get back to working out and just got me off the couch and out of my rut. The energy was so immense the first week, and then I started to get used to it, which I've quite enjoyed. I'm not running around like a madwoman, but I have the energy and the drive to be my normal self again. At first, I had insomnia for a week, but Benadryl helped for sure!"

Amphetamine for ADHD "Evekeo has been great for the first time. I am doing a lot better in my school, and I understand it better. When it comes off, it's smooth, and I don't stay up all night. I use the discount for my prescription and my insurance card, and it is not that expensive. But without all of that, it definitely will be."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I have to say I thought it would be like Adderall, but it's really not. I read their study, yeah, I'm a dork, but I remember it saying different mixtures working differently. If you are having problems with your current ADHD med, talk to your doctor and get a 60-pill free trial."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I actually quite like Evekeo, it makes me feel like a normal person with normal motivation levels, lol. I will say around other people I can get agitated easily, but that's kind of about it. Obviously, I feel like my energy levels are lower on this drug, but it's really just because my brain isn't moving at 100 miles an hour, and I actually like how that feels. I've tried Vyvanse, Adderall, and Focalin, to name a few, but I really do like Evekeo so far. I like that it's short-acting, but if you are looking for something that has a longer duration time, then maybe this isn't for you. Another side effect of Evekeo is that sometimes, towards the beginning of taking it, I would have insomnia spells, but I experienced this side effect with every other ADHD drug I took, so I just dealt with it. After a couple of weeks, though, it went away. I also only take Evekeo as needed, which could mean taking it for a week straight every day or just once a week, and it doesn't mess with my system, which is a plus."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I've recently been prescribed this product because of the shortage in Adderall in the States. This happened some years back when Shire had an explosion in a manufacturing facility in N.C. (fun fact). Unless you are prescribed Dexedrine, almost all the licit amphetamine is manufactured by Shire, who in turn sells it to companies that sell it under their generic labels. Those who swear one generic works better for them than another are probably right, but it has more to do with the fillers and binders in the tablet than the medication. Also, the DEA sets manufacturing quotas each year for schedule II drugs. So there are reasons it is in short supply this year, even though it's denied by the FDA. I can't tell a significant difference between Adzenys and Adderall, but like some commercials used to say, 'results may vary.' I found your comment about using Adderall as a vasopressor interesting. Way back in the day, Methedrine was used in ICU settings to help pull patients out of respiratory depression."

Amphetamine for ADHD "As an adult with ADHD, I love this medication because it allows me to adjust the dosage as needed. I don't take my medication on weekends and on holidays. So when I get back on my meds for work, I can start out with a lower dosage rather than shocking my system with my regular high dosage. It's the best medication overall in terms of allowing me to concentrate and not making me into a zombie, allowing me to eat even with a decreased appetite, and not making me an insomniac. However, this medication is WAY too expensive. The new manufacturer's coupon is pitiful, covering only up to a max of $140 when the medication itself is over $400. Previously, I was only paying $20 per month for my prescription the coupon. Of course, my insurance company wants me to use other (cheaper) drugs that I've tried, but don't work for me in terms of helping me concentrate and/or the side effects are too strong. Insurance companies need to stop trying to play doctor and give patients the medications that they need."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I've taken many stimulants, and they all come with a horrible crash. Adderall IR, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Concerta; and they really didn't help me focus on important things. Adzenys-so far-has been by far the best stimulant for me. I have a history of brain injuries and struggled with fatigue (causes depression). Other stimulants helped me exercise, but my heart rate was too much. On this, my heart rate is normal; and I have my old stamina. If you are someone who struggles with fatigue, this is great. It's not for everyone; I don't get that 'bad taste' thing people comment on. Most medications that dissolve are disgusting; this one is painless. Hope it works for others like it did for me."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I've been on a variety of ADHD medications, the last being Vyvanse. They have all basically been the same for me, with a somewhat high, nice focus window, and then a crash. Vyvanse lasted way too long, I had a fight-or-flight feeling in my chest nonstop, and then it made me depressed when it wore off, which lasted a while. Adderall was too short, and I didn't like crashing twice a day (2 pills). Adzenys XR-ODT is a good middle. Still crashes, still appetite suppression, but it is smoother and doesn't last 20 hrs like Vyvanse. The only issue I have with it is it is extremely hard to locate, and I have had to drive 40 minutes to a pharmacy to get it on occasion. It also comes in a large inconvenient box, instead of a pill bottle. The biggest struggle with ADHD medications is while they help me focus, they do not help me choose my focus. I can play Xbox for 5 hours straight or do housework for 5 hours straight, and I have to dictate the right choice myself."

Amphetamine for ADHD "This is the only medication we've tried so far for my 11-year-old son, but it works. His schoolwork has done a 180-degree turn since we started on Dyanavel. The only downside is the flavor, which he hates, but he's motivated, so he takes it anyway. We haven't had any negative side effects other than reduced appetite in the first few months of taking the medication. He's back to raiding the fridge 24/7 now, though."

Amphetamine for ADHD "My child has been on this almost a week, and it has made her worse in school and hyper. I am looking forward to seeing the doctor this week. The dose was cut in half after being on it 1 day, and no change in behavior, still not able to focus and refuses all schoolwork and became more defiant."

Amphetamine for ADHD "My 7-year-old daughter has severe ADHD. Prior to Dyanavel XR, our best experience was with 30 mg of Adderall XR. But that had a profound effect on her appetite and ability to interact with other people. We tried Concerta, which left her very defiant, Focalin and Vyvanse were completely ineffective. We tried Dyanavel for the first time one month ago. I can't believe the difference. She has an appetite, she socializes, she has a personality, she stays in her seat at school, and actually works on her assignments. After 4 days on this medication, her teacher called me and asked what had changed because she couldn't believe the difference. The only downfall is nighttime. She consistently wakes up around 4-5 am with dreams."

Amphetamine for ADHD "My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago (she's 13 now) and was on Adderall XR 25 mg for a few years. She was never hungry and had a hard time sleeping. We switched her to Adzenys XR 12.5 (lower than her Adderall dose equivalent). It doesn't seem to last as long -- but then again, it's not as strong. The good thing is her appetite is back, and she doesn't have trouble sleeping. She also doesn't complain about not feeling like herself (she is usually a pretty happy kid but complained the Adderall made her withdrawn). She's doing fairly good in school, though she has some learning challenges in some areas. Although she's only been on it a few months, I am relatively happy with the results."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I enjoyed Evekeo. It was great when it came to improving focus. I also have shift work disorder, so for me, stimulants are great as they help me overcome the hump I hit every morning when I just want to go to bed and sleep all day. My wife complained that I was getting really hard to live with compared to normal. I knew I was more irritable than normal. Over the 5 months I took it, I did feel like the level of irritability and argumentativeness was steadily increasing. I stopped taking it when my wife told me I was starting to become unbearable. I usually get 2 migraines a year, but while on Evekeo, I had 3 in 5 months."

Amphetamine for ADHD "20 y/o college female. Keeps me alert, focused, awake. I usually wait a little bit after taking it to have caffeine, not necessary, just personal preference based on how it makes me feel. Switched to it after taking Vyvanse for almost a year, which was great, but it eventually made me irritable. So far, I have loved this medication. No side effects, but if you take a dose too late in the day, it will keep you up at night. I take 5 mg in the morning and then another dose when I really need to focus. Shorter release, so I feel like I need a nap after 4-5 hours. Overall, would recommend."

Amphetamine for ADHD "I'm on day 2 of Adzenys. I like that I take it once. But the texture is gritty once dissolved. It's a dissolvable pill, so what do you expect? I do experience dry mouth and a slight decrease in appetite, but it's nothing serious. My doctor started me on a pediatric dose of 6.3 milligrams once a day. Another problem I see is that I'm having a hard time falling asleep. It could be because I take the medication around 11 o'clock in the morning, but that's the time I get up. So it's honestly too early for me to tell. We will see once I get a routine going and school starts again."

Amphetamine for ADHD "Evekeo works great. It's milder in regard to excitability in comparison to Adderall. Evekeo is amphetamine sulfate and carries 50% dextroamphetamine and 50% levoamphetamine. Adderall is 75% dextroamphetamine and 25% levoamphetamine, so Evekeo is much smoother and wears off slowly versus Adderall's fluctuating tapering. It is much different from Adderall. Evekeo doesn't make you feel wired like Adderall does. It's a cleaner medicine. Evekeo is a freebase amphetamine while Adderall has 4 different salts. I would recommend the makers of Evekeo to make higher milligram tablets. It's similar to a 10mg Adderall IR. It's just the ratio of ingredients that's the difference. Duration is said by pharmacists to be 12 hours, but it's more like 6."

Amphetamine for ADHD "ADHD daughter, age 6, was prescribed this after bad temper, audio hallucinations from Adderall. Has been on 4 ml for almost 2 years. It's worked wonderfully, no crashes or any side effects. As little as 2 ml on weekends helps her focus. She has kept her appetite. After over 2 years, we're going to discuss increasing her dosage, and I think she has built up a tolerance. The drug now tapers off after 4 hours almost, whereas before it would last 6-8."
