- There is a higher chance of death in older adults who take this medicine (pimavanserin capsules) for mental problems caused by dementia. Most of the deaths were linked to heart disease or infection. This medicine is not approved to treat mental problems caused by dementia.

- It is used to treat hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there) and strange thoughts that happen with Parkinson's disease.

- If you are allergic to this medicine (pimavanserin capsules); any part of this medicine (pimavanserin capsules); or any other drugs, foods, or substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
- If you have ever had a long QT on ECG or other heartbeat that is not normal.
- If you have any of these health problems: Low magnesium levels, low potassium levels, or slow heartbeat.
- If you take any drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) that must not be taken with this medicine (pimavanserin capsules), like certain drugs that are used for HIV, infections, or seizures. There are many drugs that must not be taken with this medicine (pimavanserin capsules).

- Take with or without food.

What do I do if I miss a dose?
- Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
- If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
- Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

- Very bad dizziness or passing out.
- Fast or abnormal heartbeat.
- Swelling in the arms or legs.
- Hallucinations that are new or worse after starting this medicine (pimavanserin capsules).
- Feeling confused.
