Escherichia Coli Vaccine

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy chickens 1 day of age or older or turkeys 3 days of age or older against disease caused by Escherichia coli. Duration of immunity has not been established. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data, go to productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

Store at 2°-8°C. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures and/or direct sunlight may adversely affect potency. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Inactivate unused contents before disposal. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Concurrent use of antibiotics with this vaccine is not recommended. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

Federal regulations prohibit the repackaging or sale of the contents of this carton in fractional units. Do not accept if seal is broken.

Vaccine Preparation

1. Remove seal and stopper. Half-fill vial with cool, distilled water. Replace stopper and shake until dissolved.

2. Pour rehydrated vaccine into a clean container and add cool, distilled water to dilute the vaccine as appropriate for your specific coarse spray vaccination equipment or watering system.

3. Administer at a rate of one dose of prepared vaccine per bird.

Chickens: Vaccinate by coarse spray or drinking water at 1 day of age or older. For advice on revaccination of long-lived birds, consult a veterinarian or the manufacturer.

Turkeys: Vaccinate by coarse spray at 3 days of age, followed by a second dose at 3 weeks of age.

Precautions

If possible, vaccinate all susceptible birds on the premises at the same time. For 10 to 14 days after vaccinating, avoid carrying vaccine particles on shoes, clothing, etc., into areas where there are non-vaccinated birds.

Concurrent use of antibiotics with this vaccine is not recommended.
