IMRAB + POTOMAVAC Indications

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy horses 3 months of age or older against rabies virus and potomac horse fever (PHF) (equine monocytic ehrlichiosis) due to Neorickettsia risticii. The duration of immunity against rabies is at least 1 year. The duration of immunity against PHF has not been determined. Directions and dosage: Shake well before use. For primary vaccination, aseptically administer one 1 mL dose intramuscularly into healthy horses. For N. risticii, administer a second dose 3 to 4 weeks later using this product or Potomavac. Contact your veterinarian or the manufacturer for information on revaccination frequency against N. risticii. Revaccinate against rabies annually with a single 1 mL dose.

Precautions

Store at 35-46°F (2-8°C). Do not freeze. Do not mix with other products. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. In rare instances, administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory or hypersensitivity types of reactions. Treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine. Vaccinating animals whose immune response is compromised by stress, disease, etc. may not produce the desired results. This product has not been tested in pregnant mares. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

Preservatives: Gentamicin and thimerosal.
