As well as its needed effects, phenylephrine nasal (the active ingredient contained in Nasal Four) may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.
If any of the following side effects occur while taking phenylephrine nasal, check with your doctor or nurse as soon as possible:Symptoms of too much medicine being absorbed into the body
Note: The above side effects are more likely to occur in children because there is a greater chance that too much of this medicine may be absorbed into the body.
- Fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeat
- headache or dizziness
- increased sweating
- trouble in sleeping
- Increase in runny or stuffy nose
Minor Side Effects
Some phenylephrine nasal side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:
- Burning, dryness, or stinging of inside of nose
