Hydrocortisone / Neomycin / Polymyxin B Ophthalmic Side Effects

Precautions
If you will be using this medicine for more than 10 days, your doctor should check your eyes at regular visits.
If your symptoms do not improve within a few days, or if they become worse, check with your doctor.
If a rash or allergic reaction develops, you should check with your doctor right away.
You should not let anyone else use your medicine. It could cause infection to spread.
Do not use any leftover medicine for future eye problems without checking with your doctor first. This medicine should not be used on many different kinds of infection.
Serious side effects
Along with its needed effects, hydrocortisone/neomycin/polymyxin b ophthalmic may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Stop taking hydrocortisone/neomycin/polymyxin b ophthalmic and get emergency help immediately if any of the following effects occur:
Rare side effects
- fainting
- lightheadedness (sudden and severe)
- shortness of breath or trouble breathing (severe)
- swelling around face
- blurred vision or other change in vision
- delayed healing of eye infection
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking hydrocortisone / neomycin / polymyxin b ophthalmic:
More common side effects
- itching, rash, redness, swelling, or other sign of irritation not present before use of this medicine
Other side effects
Some side effects of hydrocortisone / neomycin / polymyxin b ophthalmic may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

Adverse reactions have occurred with this combination of drugs which can be attributed to the corticosteroid component, the anti-infective component, or the combination; the exact incidence is unknown.[Ref]
Ocular

Hydrocortisone:
- Frequency not reported: Intraocular pressure increased, glaucoma, posterior subcapsular cataract formation, optic nerve damage, wound healing delayed[Ref]
