Ocular
Ocular side effects have included elevation of intraocular pressure with possible development of glaucoma, delayed wound healing, and posterior subcapsular cataract formation. Optic nerve damage has been reported infrequently.
Corticosteroid containing preparations have also been reported to cause acute anterior uveitis, perforation of the globe, keratitis, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, mydriasis, conjunctival hyperemia, loss of accommodation, and ptosis.[Ref]
Hypersensitivity
Hypersensitivity reactions due to allergic sensitization to the neomycin component have been reported.[Ref]
Other
Dexamethasone-neomycin ophthalmic can facilitate the development of a secondary bacterial or fungal infection.[Ref]
