Ifosfamide may cause central nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, blurred vision, abnormal behavior, abnormal muscle movements, seizures, and even coma in some cases. Combining it with other medications that can also affect the nervous system such as DULoxetine may increase the risk and/or severity of these effects. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid driving, operating machinery, or engaging in potentially hazardous activities requiring mental alertness and motor coordination until you know how the medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while you are receiving treatment with ifosfamide, as this may decrease the anticancer effects of ifosfamide and may increase its adverse effects on your nervous system and your kidneys. Do not use alcohol while you are receiving treatment with ifosfamide. This may increase nervous system side effects such as somnolence, dizziness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, and impairment of thinking and judgment; and may also increase nausea and vomiting. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. Also, avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. DULoxetine may cause liver damage, and taking it with alcohol may increase that risk. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with DULoxetine. Call your doctor immediately if you have fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, excessive tiredness or weakness, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash or itching, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, or yellowing of the skin or the whites of your eyes, as these may be symptoms of liver damage. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
