It is recommended that if you are taking captopril you should be advised to avoid moderately high or high potassium dietary intake. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. With certain long-acting formulations of narcotic pain medication, consumption of alcohol may also cause rapid release of the drug, resulting in high blood levels that may be potentially lethal.
