Betamethasone may reduce the effects of trandolapril in lowering blood pressure. The interaction is most likely to occur when betamethasone is used for more than a week, since prolonged use can cause sodium and water retention. It is recommended that if you are taking trandolapril you should be advised to avoid moderately high or high potassium dietary intake. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. Do not use salt substitutes or potassium supplements while taking trandolapril, unless your doctor has told you to.
