Drug Interaction Report
1 potential interaction and/or warning found for the following 2 drugs:
- Avelox I.V. (moxifloxacin)
- ginkgo
Interactions between your drugs
ginkgo moxifloxacin
Applies to: ginkgo, Avelox I.V. (moxifloxacin)
Talk to your doctor before using ginkgo together with moxifloxacin. Some preparations of ginkgo biloba have caused seizures, and combining them with other medications that can also cause seizures such as moxifloxacin may increase that risk. You may be more susceptible if you are elderly, undergoing alcohol or drug withdrawal, have a history of seizures, or have a condition affecting the central nervous system such as a brain tumor or head trauma. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
No alcohol/food interactions were found with the drugs in your list. However, this does not necessarily mean no food interactions exist. Always consult your healthcare provider.
Therapeutic duplication warnings
No duplication warnings were found for your selected drugs.
Therapeutic duplication warnings are only returned when drugs within the same group exceed the recommended therapeutic duplication maximum.
