Drug Interaction Report
2 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- mibefradil
- ospemifene
Interactions between your drugs
mibefradil ospemifene
Applies to: mibefradil, ospemifene
Mibefradil may increase the blood levels and effects of ospemifene. This may increase the risk of side effects such as hot flush, blood clots, heart attack, stroke, and breast or endometrial cancer. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, and/or pain or swelling in the arms or legs, as these may be symptoms of a blood clot. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
ospemifene food
Applies to: ospemifene
Food significantly increases the absorption of ospemifene. You should take ospemifene with a meal, preferably at the same time each day. Taking it on an empty stomach may lead to inadequate blood levels and reduced effectiveness of the medication.
