Applies to the following strengths: 20 mg-30 mg-2.5 mg/5 mL

Usual Adult Dose for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection

Maintenance dose: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) orally every 4 hours
Maximum dose: 4 teaspoonfuls (20 mL) orally in 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor

Uses: For the temporary relief of symptoms due to common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis) or other upper respiratory allergies such as: cough due to minor throat or bronchial irritation, runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat, itchy eyes, watery eyes and nasal congestion.

Usual Pediatric Dose for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection

6 to 12 years:
Maintenance dose: 0.5 teaspoonful (2.5 mL) orally every 4 hours
Maximum dose: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) orally in 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor

12 years and older:
Maintenance dose: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) orally every 4 hours
Maximum dose: 4 teaspoonfuls (20 mL) orally in 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor
