Dalfampridine is contraindicated in patients with moderate or severe renal impairment (CrCl<=50 mL/min). Dalfampridine is eliminated through the kidneys primarily as unchanged drug and its clearance is decreased in patients with renal impairment and is significantly correlated with creatinine clearance.
Dalfampridine (applies to Ampyra) seizures
Major Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility.
Dalfampridine is contraindicated in patients with a history of seizures. Dalfampridine can cause seizures and it is recommended to permanently discontinue treatment in patients who have a seizure while on treatment.
